Downloaded the game and installed Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition on the PC. It holds up very well and I am certain you would enjoy it, if you haven't played it yet. The original still proves superior. The screaming from those industrial saws and that sadness inducing choir is just far more impactful than the remake's version of this soundtrack. The other makes the player's adrenaline rush through their veins in it's themes of determination, which is epic in its own right. But this one- this one hits the player in the soul with the mechanical sounds of pain, depression and madness.
One represented the old blood, the past and regret, while his brother represented new blood, and the sacrifice of forgetting all the pain. The both torment you to make you remember what sins you've commited in your past and remind you that you can't run from your past. That's why one is covered in brown, dried blood, and the other is covered in fresh blood. This also explains the color of the eggs you collect from them. Their suicide means that you understand why they came and they relize you don't need them anymore. You've remembered yourself and know what it takes to change. SYMBOLISM EXPLAINED!
To add to the symbolism, do you think it would be really neat if they ever did a proper adaptation of Silent Hill 2 and had the same actor, who would play James Sunderland, dress up as Pyramid Head, to have the monster's footage spliced with James'? That way, when people look behind the scenes and realize that the actor was playing both characters, it would further solidify that Pyramid Head is a manifestation of his own repressed guilt and desire to punish himself, through suicide.
+Murder of Crows I think it would also work because Maria is a doppelganger of Mary, whom James sees being repeatedly killed by Pyramid Head. So if the same actor played both James and Pyramid Head, then it would be like James is watching himself kill Maria, reenacting his past crime against Mary even more accurately. And it would be an even more direct reminder of James' own temptations towards infidelity during his wife's illness, when he sees Pyramid Head assaulting the other monsters sexually.

And when the day comes that I die he will be waiting for me, to guide me safely towards the afterlife for my eternal rest. as a "thank you" for his collection of negative things, when I was still alive. before he goes to find a new person to protect, and collect now from. or he stays/becomes this angel again if I ever got reincarnated so he can go back to the whole circle of collecting negativity again.

The fascinating thing about Silent Hill is that each person can interpret it for themselves. In Silent Hill the notion of reality is constantly called into question, the brutality of this universe is not free, but the element that pushes us to die; pursued to be reborn pure. The darkness of Silent Hill is a blinding light.

Silent Hill Demons
Pyramid Head
Height: 6 foot, approx. Weight: Unknown
Description
Pyramid Head seems to be a high-ranking entity in the hierarchy of the demonic creatures that infest Silent Hill, Maine. A strange, perverse entity, he has a sickening desire to punish the sins of the townsfolk. I unfortunately know little else of this depraved demon.
Physical Appearance
In its physical appearance, he resembles a muscular man with a strange robe covering it's lower torso. But the most obvious and admittedly disturbing trait is that he wears a triangular, pyramid-shaped helmet, made of a strange ore I haven't seen in any game world. This helmet is the reason this entity is known as Pyramid Head.

But it serves to have the victim come to realize their guilt, crime and then repent for their sins. Noble, but a sickening way to go about it.
Abilities:
Teleportation(?)
Superhuman strength
Ability to sense guilt and sins
Telepathic sight
Hierarchy
The Pyramid Head that James Sunderland fought seems to be the head of an entire species of Pyramid Heads. These executioners, also called Bogeymen, serve the same role as their patriarch.
Tactics
This demon and his spawn(?) tend to be rather slow, BUT they can sometimes be surprisingly quick.

When he want's to fight faster, he wields the Great Spear, a staff that has sharp points on both ends. Both do immense damage, but are unwieldy for even him to use.

Perfect timing for drawing a Pyramid head picture
Very atmospheric boss music
It gives a feeling of tragedy and really fits a final boss
This one seems stronger than the others, The Entity will be pleased to see his new plaything.
A little too powerful. He's the only killer than is able to perform his "final judgment" on his prey without having any objects or skills. I guess he extremely likes to punish the guilty.
@@squeakythecat1076 But I love the way he simply slashes you once and imagine hearing a voice trough the helmet going "Ok I'm sick of your shit".
@@ASH_HYPES_ALONE yep, that's how he is
The fog’s Entity recognize that he might come face to face with PH. Therefore, the Entity realized that he needs to please PH for making him punish the sinners over and over again. PH can punish the entity if he wanted
@@the-expertstreetb-racer5832 There is a theory that PH is punishing the entity, by not following his rules and not using hooks and executing instead of sacrificing. He is basically starving the entity in a way since the entity needs those sacrifices and hooks to live.
So many memories... the nine save points, the way they commit suicide, the long walk down that hall...
Yeah what's with the 9 save points
@@markjackson5333 The devs saying "your ass better save" is what I always heard.
@markjackson5333 I know your comment is a year old but Masaharo Ito implied that the 9 save points represent the 9 monsters James faces in the game - Lying Figures, Mannequins, Bobblehead Nurses, Flesh Lips, Mandarins, Abstract Daddy, Creepers, Maria, and Pyramid Head.
Recommandation from youtube after his release of silent hill announcement on Dead by daylight.
For some odd reason I see pyramid head as my Guardian angel.
The protector, and collector of all the negative things of life I have experienced and will.
And for that purpose he will defend me from being murdered by someone else, so more negative things life has to offer can be collected.
Interesting take on the guardian angel trope and it sounds like movie material Imo.
wtf.
This guy is high as fuck
Edgy
Sounds like a poem ngl
Exacto
Let's just say I have a little bit of a sleeping problem and I noticed when I'm actually playing this it actually helps I heard ambient noise actually helps you go to sleep honestly so I would let this play in it would help me sleep seriously
This helps me sleep 😴
The English language is ill equipped to describe the feeling this song gives me
Just use screaming, that usually conveys the message in all languages
bruh same
Well, if you listen to it with the intent of finding out the mood it conveys...
It's both unsettling and terrifying, even with the slow pace, and it fills one with dread and terror.
...But it's also... _So somber, so sad and depressing._
There's a massive, melancholy overtone, one that makes the song both more unsettling and gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking.
_Fear..._ *And Sorrow...*
As haunting as it seems this music is just genius
The theme of battling your personal demons
That sound of him dragging that Giant Knife around.
Leave her alone
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHG
LEAVE US BOTH THE HELL ALONE!!!
Leave my elevator alone.
I was weak.
I hope they use this in the remake
How we feelin, bois?
The metallic background noises are awesome
This sums up where I'm at in life.
I come here whenever i feel hurt by someone i care about, and somehow it relaxes me

Ewerybody end lisend this song know how life is hard end hardeest wait for silent hill 2 remake only for PS5 end pc excelent for you im waiting
I can see the two different stock footage glass shatter patterns they used for the pic and the fact that they both are not at the same perspective is driving me insane
I need this to be the chase music for him in DBD
That would sound very VERY weird…
@@KamilSupinski41 they could prob edit it to make it fit as chase music
@@EvilDebt2 There are many songs you could turn into a chase theme but this is 100% not one of them lol.
@@KamilSupinski41 a fan can dream
I feel like this is the music that would play if you ever managed to lay eyes apon a Lovecraftian creature.
Behold!! A Man has become like one of us... knowing good and evil! For it is said..
“Whoever believes in the Son has Eternal Life, Whoever does not believe in the son does not have eternal life but the Wrath of God Remains in them..”
What is human
What is this line from?
Shitting yesterdays chili and beer rn, torture
It's like watching everything around you burn, no escape
Thank you
You are welcome :)
Playback at 0.75x speed somehow makes this more unsettling at some intervals in the track.
God I gotta play Silent Hill...
love the song,love the game
ah yes this brings back memories
good music, very tasteful
Triangle-Man, Triangle-Man,
Triangle-Man hates Person-Man,
They have a fight, Triangle wins.
Nobody knows Triangle-Man.
I love him 💟💟💟💟💟💟💟
Pyramid Head won't move anymore.
And I thought this was the final boss fight, probably due to the music and sound effects. It’s just too much for me to take in.
James...James...James...
I use this music to go to sleep,am i weird?
Rodrigo Araújo no that not weird
The weirdest and coolest . . . Other than that, it makes sense. Idk, but I find it low pacing and soothing.
No not weird, until you dream of what he sees or experiences... sweet dreams
Despite the mechanical sounds, the song is strangely calming
Yes.
Black fairy just hit so prefect after Betrayal
I don’t find this theme particularly scary. Granted I’ve never played the game, I just think this sounds cool
You gotta keep in mind people are listening to this while running for their lives in the game, and the machine sound constantly reminds you of the giant metal cleaver dragging after you.
It's not intended to be scary. It's a boss fight theme that takes place after the main character has overcome his fear, well more so guilt, but fear of his past and future. The soundtrack can be scary when it needs to be, but most times, it's calming or just sad.
Sir Punchnut i always see it on top scariest video game songs so I thought it was supposed to be scary
cloud doesnt have too much trouble with his sword, a little showing of this guy in my fanfic
pyramid head could fit perfectly for a cameo
This should have been pyramid heads chase theme in dead by daylight.
Agree
Man I prefer this music in the original I didn't hear it well in the remake
old but gold
Listening to this kinda makes me sad that Silent Hill 2 didn't have more Other World environments. It is one of the few big complaints about the series.
this some berserk stuff right there
Weird if you remember that people didn't like it that much when it released in 2001. Tool the public view a few months/years to understand the game
They need to make this backwards compatible for the Xbox one and the original one not the remake since I saw original Xbox games in the store
The hd collections is backwards compatible
Utter genious
Does anyone know what the notes of the background vocal choir are???
I wish this was on spotify
It kinda sounds like a saw in the background.
Okay why the fuck wasn't this used in DbD as chase music, it's brilliant.
I disagree, while this is a great song it doesn't give off that pursuit vibe that the current version has.
@@AxisChurchDevotee it gives off “you are trapped here with me” vibes
I need him in my life
You need an executioner and a Judge?
lovin' it
This should have been AT LEAST the menu music for Pyramid Head, but I guess I understand they wanted dead by daylight vibes to it and the menu music is the same for everyone except with different themes in it.
Angel's sounds like this.
whats the song title on the cd?
This one is better then the original.
