  • Check out my 1975 Plymouth Duster! 225 slant 6 with an overdrive 4-speed manual. Its for sale! Asking $10,500. Nice clean car, runs well, and drives smooth. I bought this to build as a v8 car but found something I want more so this one has to go. Let me know what you think!

    The Dart Sport hood scoop is off a 73-74 and the Go Wing is actually for a Cuda. The A body wing was rounded on the ends. Cool car!

    I would leave the 6 and the manual in it and recreate a "Feather Duster".
    Look that one up.
    I daily drove a 69 Valiant for several years with a slant 6. That was a great car for everyday use and lightening it up helped with both acceleration and gas mileage. If you put a slant 6 car on a serious diet it makes a great everyday car.

      Yep, the slant 6 should stay in this car for sure, I don’t get why people would complain about a survivor car such as this one for the way it was equipped, I have been looking for a mopar a body for quite a while and I have noticed most of the survivors have a slant 6

    A great starting point for a small or big block conversion. No body work necessary. Excellent video. I hope another You Tuber purchases the car and continues the project.

    I like the black walls and the (stock?) hubs! Gives it a police high performance look.

      I like them too. I’m a sucker for steelies and dog dish center caps.

      these are what was called the standard hubs, a deluxe hub was available with different trim packages.

    you can build as pretty hot slant six or straight six in general. the issue is it depends on which block you have. my dad found a bigger slant 6 and put that in his dodge tradesman van, the issue was he didn't know that particular model year of engine blocks had soft cyclinder walls. he had to rebuild it twice. finally he talked to my uncle who is an engine builder, and he told him that year of mopar slant sixes sucked as they used bad cyclinder walls as a cost cutting measure.

      There are definitely a lot of performance parts available for the slant sixes. Dollar for dollar it’s simpler and more cost affective in my opinion to build a small block v8 for it. But I don’t discount the cool parts that are available for the six cylinders.

    I feel the scoop and spoiler convert a boring body style into something with a hint of excitement. Just needs a 340 to back up the hint. Looks like a good car to start with.

    • @Mclovingarage
      @Mclovingarage  Год назад

      Ya, it definitely helps it out visually thats for sure. Once it has a v8 it’ll be able to back it up!

      340 would be nice for sure, but a 360 would be more nearly historically accurate for a '75.

    I have a 76 dart lite with a 225 and also has a 4 speed overdrive and don’t forget the 8 ball shift knob 🎱😏

    LOL- my '76 Valiant has the 318 & the A-833 OD. With a 2.76, 8.25" rear...it's no race car but it'll cruise at 75MPH no issue at all. WIth the 11.75" disc swap, front sway bar (poly bushings), chin spoiler (Barry in Canada!), has the A51 package & HD cooling, it's a great trip machine

    • @woxyroxme
      @woxyroxme 5 месяцев назад

      That’s odd because the 2.76 rear came with the slant 6 cars and the V-8 came with the 2.45 rear, maybe sometime the engine was swapped out

    • @olikat8
      @olikat8 5 месяцев назад

      It's the original powertrain. Rear end may have been swapped, but it came from the original owner 9older woman) w/88K miles. The car is a real weirdly optioned car that was 'on the lot' and not ordered by her@@woxyroxme

    Still have it? How did you shorten the drive line. What gears in the 8 1/4?

      I do still have it. Dropped the price to $9750. I had it shortened at a drive line shop, balanced, painted and new u-joints.

      I believe the car originally had a 3 speed manual, not a 4 speed.
