Thanks a lot :-)))) And yes - it`s all about practice, about doing something wrong in the first place and making it better next time. Painting is most about how much you are willing to get better than the raw talent...someone with a lot of drive can become better than a super talented but lazy artist. So keep on painting, you never know how far you can come until you reall try and push your boundaries further and further :-))))
This is really beatiful! Wonderful painting and very generous explantion.. i really appreciate how informative and short your videos are.. i learnt more from watching you paint for 30 minutes than i did in months of courses
Ohhh... Hermoso, perfecto, maravilloso... Te felicito por tu arte de forma y color exactos... Gracias por compartir conmigo, cariños desde Chile...👏👏👏🏆🙏👍🇨🇱❤️
Thank you Joe :-))) I unfortunately don`t use acrylics for the final layer of a painting...in fact, I meanwhile only use the water mixable oils that I have for the underpainting. Did you ever try oils? They make life REALLY a lot easier especially when it comes to blending.
@@brennerfineart I am new to painting (1 year+) as a new hobby in retirement and during pandemic. Started with acrylics but more people are encouraging me to try water mixable oils. A bit intimidating for a newbie though
@@joeirvine3398 Yes, I am another one of these annoying people trying to convince you to use those water mixable oils ;-))) Believe me, I tried acrylics in my first years but once you start using (water mixable) oils it will make life SO MUCH easier as a painter. No more worries about how to keep the acrylics from drying while you try to blend your colours. You don`t need to be afraid - it`s actually the opposite, you will be able to produce effects that you simply can`t with acrylics. Just give it a try - I really am convinced you will never ever step back to acrylics again :-))))
Hello. I am new to painting. May i ask where did you use the liquitex paint and why did you use oil paint medium if it is water soluble? Does using medium for oil paint water soluble makes a difference?
Hi Joyce, in this case I use only the water mixable oils even for the underpainting. In fact, I meanwhile rarely use the acrylics any more, they simply dry too quick for the way I paint event for the stage of the underpainting. I use water mixable oils because I don`t want to use the harmful mediums like white spirit or turpentine that you need for "real" oils. This stuff is really bad for your health and as I paint every day I want to sit in the fumes of these mediums.
@@joyceannegarcia9600 I let them cure for a couple of weeks and then I use a varnish that is compatible with the water mixable oils. I once used one that was NOT compatible...that was a nightmare...so make sure you buy the right varnish in case you get also water mixable oils ;-)))
Due to popular demand - you can find links to the colours that I use in the description box.

Amazing 👏

Can I please ask…what size canvases do you use? I’m thinking 16x20 but I might be wrong 😑
Hi Caron, the size of this painting is 30x40 cm (or 12x16 inches) :-)))
