After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy-the Winter Soldier.
Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Alan Fine and Stan Lee. The film releases March 26, 2014 in the UK & Ireland, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Bucky is strong af when he's in Winter Soldier mode and fighting people like Cap, Tony, Nat, Clint and even BP. But once he's back to regular Bucky, and he's fighting alongside talking trees, gods, gamma monsters and a witch who can alter reality, yeah he seems weaker.
My favorite thing about this movie is they made Cap so powerful and fast.
He is much more powerful and faster in the comics, but I see your point, he was Pretty underpowered in the movies before Winter Soldier came out.

@adarsh4764 It's the Hulk, he can run through everything. Still doesn't change the fact that Cap looks cool in this scene. I don't know why you even need to bring Hulk into this.

They get me every time, those eyes. Absolutely full of pain and sadness. Everything else about the Winter Soldier here is lethal and fast and hard. Those eyes are the only human piece, and they're screaming.

This does such a good job of showing Steve’s strength and power right before showing it paled in comparison to what Bucky is capable of as the winter soldier when not holding back at all

I always thought The Avengers movie so downplayed Captain america's abilities, not to mention the ridiculous suit. Glad this director is giving cap his due.

any other human in the last scene would have gone back flying in the air trying to hold that shield as Vibranium is pretty hard to control as it can even absorb kinetic energy, shows captain's superior strength

I don't know what, but I like it that Winter Soldier doesn't just take the shield. He actually gives the shield back. Like "puny shield"
He doesn’t know it’s made out of a nigh-invulnerable material. Why would he have a shield when it’s not something he regularly uses? Plus throwing it at Steve would provide the perfect cover for his escape.
A small touch i love about this scene is @ 0:21 how Cap adapts to his speed now. He knows hes too fast to turn sharp corners when hes in a fast pace momentum as shown when he crashed into glass the first time he got his powers :D oh how i love this movie

He's in a different world. He adjusted to it or is trying to.
Nick K. He's had significantly more training from SHIELD so he's learned more. In Cap 1 he was basically just starting out.
They even improved him from Avengers 1.
The difference between First Avenger and Winter Soldier is like that of the 1965 Mustang GT350 and the 2020 Mustang GT350.
One's all about raw power and setting the curve, the other is more technical, efficient and adapted to the times.
This is what makes the characterization of the MCU Cap perfect its physicality based on the ultimate universe with its 616 personality/character

the kid in me is keeping me up at night waiting for this movie.....I've always loved Cap and this is the first time I've seen Cap on a screen like I've seen him in my mind reading the stories as a kid.
Have you not seen all the other MCU films including The First Avenger? Because you've got some catching up to do...
of course I saw it, and I loved it, ...but there's something *special* about this one. It has just the right kind of feel to it...I predict it'll rank up there with Avengers in terms of quality.

see, i think cap needs his own game inspired by mirrors edge (platforming and racing through), the arkham games (stealth and combat) and this movie was so video game like, i loved it.

This movie was a pure roller-coaster ride from start to finish. Perfect Cap movie :)
I love how the sound just reverberated through his arm the vibranium shield hitting his arm
for me this is one of the best action movies out there. It had an interesting plot, cool characters, AMAZING action scenes, great female buttkicker(which so much action movies just dont know how to handle) and on top of it all.. great fight choreography! Yes you can argue the dark knight is a flawless movie etc... or the raid 2 has better choreography or inception has a better story, but I prefer this movie because its an all around entertainer from start to finish. A rollercoaster ride that is so damn thrilling that you want to ride others like these.. damn i cant wait for avengers 3.

I love the set up they had at the end of this movie for another Captain America, no spoilers for those who haven't seen it, but people who have seen it and big fans of Winter Soldier (like myself) definitely loved it. Can't wait for the next one!

The movie makes it clear that WS has virtually no personal interests when he's brainwashed, so he would have no desire or interest in keeping the shield. His only nature is to accomplish the goal of killing the target and anyone who gets in his way. If WS had ammo, he wouldn't be running away from Cap. WS had no choice but to throw the shield back at Cap in order to slow him down, otherwise Cap would've reached the edge of the roof before WS could "vanish". Plus, like *Gul'Dan Darkness Incarnate* said, Cap and Fury would be smart enough to install a tracking/homing system onto this ultra-rare-metal shield.
