Hey Jason. It's amazing you did this video. I use this exact camera, mounted to a back board exactly as you did, that I use in 2 of my bee yards. I have had it for 3 years and love it. Based on the picture of your install, the only thing I would recommend is to slide the loop of the excess cord over the solar panel mounting shaft (after temporarily removing the solar panel of course) so that it is supported and you take the strain off the cord by not just hanging free from the cord. It really helps support the cable, especially if you have some snow / ice load. I hope you like it as much as I do.
I agree, the camera is amazing. Funny how we both used a board to mount it too. lol I need to get some sinch ties to tie the solar panel cord to the mount, I agree just letting it hang could cause damage.
See stoney ridge farm to make a wooden mount for the camera if you want to easily move them from one location to another. ruclips.net/video/6EB-JE-Xl_E/видео.html
I agree, I find myself checking the cow herd as soon as I get up in the morning, very cool! Yesterday I watched as my bull and the neighbors bull met each other at our shared fence, they both put on a pretty good show. lol I think I would write "Protected By Cellular Cameras" on my No Trespassing signs. Another thing I like to write is "Property Watched By Drones". lol Another idea for a sign "Before you shoot my camera, realize I already have your picture".
I love Reolink cameras Jason, the video is clear and they are easy to setup. I have several of them, different types in different locations around the house. I even have one so I can monitor the dog while at work, lol.
That's awesome! I wonder if a swarm would set off a notification? That would be crazy, your at work and you get to watch your bees leave. Hey boss, I'm sick and need to go home asap. lol
@@JCsBees shhhhh been there done that from the house not from work.... I have an hour drive from work to get home. I'm sure I have missed a few while at work.
Thanks for this information Jason. Very well done. I need a camera or to and been holding off till now. Love the features… like using a box on high traffic areas to cut down on setting off. Have a great week.
Thanks Russ, Glad you enjoyed the video it was a huge project when it came to editing. Lots of moving parts to this video. lol The camera is amazing, I have it on our leased cattle farm now and I can't help but check it every few hours to see what the herd is doing. The tilt and pan option make this camera over the top, so cool to be able to turn the camera! The high traffic boxes are a nice feature, there are other features too I didn't mention.
Outstanding video. We have rural property and are building a new home on it. We don't live presently anywhere near it. This camera will be next level to check on work crews working, deliveries of materials and keeping my general contractor honest. Quick question for you or anyone who commented here. If you have multiple cameras do you have to have multiple service plans or can your provider link them under the same account? Very informative! Thank you!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful. You should check out this video where I caught an Amish on our land with the camera ruclips.net/video/197m3zg0alc/видео.html Each camera does need it's own sim card or service provider but refilling them is super easy. Mug up in Ohio, good morning Jason, from central NH. Thanks for posting reviews on things such as this camera. Just a note on use of real time surveillance and hunting, check your state and local laws, as use is restricted in some state. Happy Thanksgiving
Do you make your queens the same way as the video from 5 years ago? Can you make like a update video. You could just watch your series and write down what you have changed👍🏽
Here's a video explaining my data setup. I will also add, when you first setup the cameras I was tuning in all the time, just to see what was happening, as time pasted I started only tuning in when notified of motion. ruclips.net/video/b_tnfEiqCpQ/видео.html
You went through that orientation as though you are pretty tech savvy ….I have Verizon….so does that eliminate my usage….how long do these operate before needing replaced….Id enjoy having those at different locations…..but the displays of operation options seem vastly too small-too concentrated….how long did it actually take a country boy to program this piece….
Oh yeah, I like tech stuff and am not afraid to play around with stuff. Lol It really only took about 20 minutes to set this up but I had already watched a few setup videos. I too am a Verizon user but since it's not an option with the camera I went to T Mobiles site and checked the coverage in my area. It was spotty but the camera still works very well. Also I seen a video by a guy who bought an upgraded antenna (Not sure who make it) but he claimed it made a huge difference. He also claims to have been using this same camera for 2 years with no issues. He even painted his setups camo.
I like them, no real issues. I have an outside wireless repeater that I connect them to so that I can watch the bees, and some parts of my property, remotely. Two are the rotating cameras, one is a stationary. I have had them for about a year now. The solar charging works really well, and the video is pretty clear. I do have some bandwidth issues sometimes just because of the distance to the external wireless antenna, but not enough to complain about.
I bought this a year ago and they still don't use verizon, only AT&T. Was highly disappointed because I bought 3. Have they improved the system? I looked, still AT&T.
I prefer Verizon but seen people were having problems so I bought the T Mobile sim card and honestly it's working pretty well. Super happy with everything so far. I watched some other videos on them and apparently they work very well during winter too which I thought was impressive.
Question: if the QR-Code on the back of the camera is unique to each one, wouldn't it make sense to cut-out the QR-Code from the sticker and save it somewhere safe? So at least if the camera gets stolen... no one can activate it for himself :) Thanks
Yes, I imagine each QR code is unique to each camera but if it's stolen the thief would be in trouble as the picture was already sent to your phone. Not sure if removing QR code is a good idea or not, what if you lose it?
Have you had any problems with the cameras not being able to connect remotely, mine will work great for a week or two then for two or three days the cameras will not connect and give me a “Connection Failed” message, then all of a sudden they start working again?!?!
@@JCsBees ditto love mine to so I’m buying antenna extenders as I think my is a reception problem and I’m extremely limited on places to place them!! Thanks!!
Jason, your audio is gone from one of the most important parts. Right after you put “Let’s talk data usage” your audio is gone so if you want people to keep coming back you might want to voice over what was said. I would also say if your going to put up something on screen like the price plan, put it full screen so we can actually read the information.
Thanks for the insight, much appreciated! I'm sorry about the problems, the bad part is I would have to delete the video, fix it on my pc, then re-upload.
I recently bought reolink cameras Things constantly goes off when the wind blows💨 And literally catches nothing on video because it takes like 3 minutes for the camera to start recording whatever's happening so your car could be sitting in the driveway one minute and 3 minutes later it'll be gone😖 Literally catches nothing..!🤬
You need to adjust the sensitivity on your camera it sounds like. Go under setting and make the change. They are awesome camera but need setup correctly to work good.
@@JCsBees The only adjustment is the sensitivity, the more you turn it up the more when the wind blows it keeps going off.. has nothing to do with the timing of when the notification and the camera starts recording they don't have a setting for that🤷♂️
I've seen videos of people spray painting them camo but I was gonna search online for a sheet of camo decal and just cut and stick. I figure if the decal is vinyl it should stick well.
@@ReolinkCameras I posted this link 3 times I believe and it keeps getting deleted. Can you please explain the difference between the Reolink Go PT Plus and the KEEN Ranger PT? They appear to be the exact same camera but the Keen camera is camouflaged and costs $100 more. Unless there are other differences that I am not aware of, the camoflag is not worth the extra $100 in my opinion. A can of spray paint to match whatever background the camera will be mounted in is MUCH cheaper. I really like this camera but T-Mobile is not in my area. From what I have been able to determine, a Verizon sim card may or may not work. Perhaps you can clarify this point? If this reply gets deleted, then I will just unsubscribe.
