Getting rich is not even the problem, the problem is that you have no time for anything else except resting after the work. *Your salary is the trap that they use for keeping you there. And your salary is not enough to set you free but enough to keep you alive.*

Cute fortune cookie advice. Dime a dozen on these type of videos. Everyone has to sacrifice something for money in this world. Just because those glitzy band glamorous gurus tell you its EZ street to riches, doesnt mean you wont sacrifice ALOT of your time working for yourself. Actually, a lot more sacrifices have to be given. And dont be entitled and naive to think just because you work for yourself and sacrificed, that riches, wealth and power are a given. You can very easily work very hard and end up with nothing. Ive met many ppl who worked for themselves who were very happy to go back to being an employee!!!

Nowadays that technology + internet combined has literally change the world . There are so many ways to earn money , to learn and lots opportunities . I am having doubts if my parents teachings are still correct. " Do you know why poor people are still poor ? It is because they did not finish college."
For me I don't think that this is the true reason . They just don't find ways to grow and seek a better life.

In croatia if you finish high school 3 or 4 or 5 years, then want to get on college waste another 4-5 years, then you work as cleaning guy or waither. No jobs, crisis etc. Witch is sad that you wasted your time on college or school.
Only thing is you work 7-3 or 8-4.
Only town Zagreb Main Town Mosly has 9-5 witch sucks! I honestly dont know what to work here. Because i have 3 years school and part of croatia where i live was hitted by strong eathquake and situation is bad.. So yea. School means nothing here you have school you cant work what you finished. You dont have school cant get job.
You have college you work something else.
Curruption is also huge and if you get job they expect you to work multiple things in same time, then nobody respects workers, then people are rude on jobs, nervous etc etc etc. So yea, thats why i cant find job that i will like or i dont wanna work becase people are stressing me because of their behavior.

Its not always about the money. A 9-5 can definitely make you rich, if you work for big tech firms like you said or work at investment banks where you could pull a million a year with 6 to 8 yrs experience. But it demands your very soul, you can pretty much kiss freedom goodbye. Youre not likely to quit your job and start something by age 32 because you lack the skills to freelance as you have spent the bulk of your time working for somebody else. You also find it hard to have a big pay cut, because starting out in self employment are usually bumpy rides with little to no income. I dont understand the whole "spend 10 years working a 9-5 and building equity". Equity is nothing when you dont know what to do with it.

Always felt this way my whole life about a 9 to 5. Life is for living and more important than money is time. Ask yourself what is worth trading your limited valuable time to make money? For me thats definitely not a 9-5 Most people don't even ask themselves this question. How much time we trade to work these 9 to 5s only to be unhappy.
I have been thinking about this for a long time. I'm actually at a crossroads where I could actually become a full-time ups driver and make 6 figures....but its long hours and hard physical work. I plan on starting my own amazon FBA business and get out of the 9 to 5 prison where I could potentially make double or triple the amount and have full control of how I use my time.

    1. Greedy CEOs
I've worked several jobs and have dealt with the extremes of stress, the biggest being in the Army. After 22 years of being in the workforce I've come to a resolution if I ever owned a business and made millions a year, I would share a lot of it with workers, especially if their efforts were good and they helped the company. I'd live in a low middle class home, I'd be absorbed in the work, but giveback to employees. In the Army I saw the extremes of hazing and leadership abuse, and it was an experience I carried into the civilian world, but I shouldn't have held so much fear and submission in situations, yet the military teaches people to be mindless slaves so I suffered a lot out of the military. I believe if I hadn't gone in the Army id be a better person today, but the military changes people.

It all depends on who you work for 9 to 5. For example you are an accountant but in company A you feel like its is draining your soul but in company B you feel great and you are moving up. It all comes down to which company you work for. Some companies are very boring, some are ok, and others are really fun. You still work 9 to 5 40 hours a week for the company that you love which offers great pay, flexible hours, great benefits, great people and management to work with, always room to learn and grow, and other positive things as well. It's not like all 9-5s are terrible. You can have a 9-5 that pays more than $100k just in wage with great benefits and flexibility. It all depends who you work for not all 9 to 5 jobs suck.

9-5 jobs is modern slavery! Your boss controls your mind, behavior, your mood, and basically your life! Life is too short! You spend the whole day in your cubicle, add traffic, you get home watch tv or stare at your phone, go to bed, repeat. It’s a cycle that will rob your life away from you without realizing it.

The way I see it, a salary job is nothing more than a lifeboat. It's designed to keep you afloat and prevent you from sinking. It is not a cruise ship, a yacht, nor a speed boat. It's a handy tool for survival, but it will seldom propel you to newer and better horizons.
If you desire to go above and beyond, you must develop a strategy and carve a path to get there. A boss or employer is never going to do it for you. Point blank.

Stability - at will employer can fire you at any time, yet you have to provide 2 week notice
Benefits - 401k that is now worthless because economy tanked due to covid
Overtime - employers never give more than 40 hours unless contract in which you could make less than minimum wage
Bonuses - you made your employer so much money they give you a small extra, which is a flat amount rather than what you generated (unless in sales)

A family member who signed a military contract at 18 once told me to never sign away your time. I laughed because I was contracted as a university ambassador at the time and had to live how was most “presentable”. This did save me a lot of judgement bc I “fit it and did the right things” but now that I’m in a 9-5 where I signed over 52 weeks of my life every year to make a salary I couldn’t live on without my partner’s help, I so so so understand where they were coming from. And I know they say owning a business and everything is a job that you never stop working so it ends up being more than 9-5, but I feel like online related jobs aren’t like that. Also, if I didn’t want to work a given day, or had a vacation coming up, I could just save up for it or make sure I had some things backlogged. No counting PTO. No bargaining “two weeks” and some change of time off that isn’t even two weeks (14days) because only the week days count….

I think the worst thing about the workforce is some people are literally stuck doing 9-5's because majority of better paying jobs have a lot more requirements and experience & expect you to know what your doing already Regardless if there's training for it🤦 some people have learning disabilities or other issues and can't pick up on marketing jobs or actual careers better than others. And other specific training for jobs are requirements based off of trade schools or other training facilities that you need a lot of money for.
