They could've just installed the AC in one room and if there is a gap connecting both rooms then the cold air from one room would slowly fill the other one too. That would give them a chance to install an AC in other room too in future and close the gap.

Clever but how to deal with people that get cold easy, who gets the remote? I’m guessing the person who’s on the side of the AC that reads the remote. So don’t come to my side just to use the remote to turn in it off, down or up less you pay to have control of the remote that controls the ac for both of us. I’m not giving it up if you in the next room and just wanna turn it off when you can wear sweats. I’m not walking to the shower to cool off when you can wear sweats if it’s too cool. It’s summer and that’s the point. To retreat into a cool place.
