I ride a 2007 Honda Gold wing ... 4 years ago I purchased an F4 custom windshield medium size no tint ... life has never been better for me ... absolutely perfect windshield.. very little if any wind to bother me ... just enough to cool me but not cause inconvenience or loud noises in my ears ..best part cleans like a charm simply using water and a rag or towel ... not even windex or gas station windshield cleaners . Very happy .. Thanks for posting
Great windscreen. Makes cockpit quieter, reduces wind noise. I am 5’ 8” 190 lbs and wear a 32” inseam. I went for the 16” tinted version. Couldn’t be happier.
I just ordered the wider version of the stock 20 in shield. To get the 2” extra on the side you have to request the wider version which I’m told is what the majority of people prefer. This is what the sales guy at F4 told me while on the phone with him.
I'm running the large clearview windshield and can't believe how quiet it made the rider/passenger pocket. I've never rode/owned a motorcycle where a windshield change that big of a difference. It honestly made the stock honda speakers sound better and louder... still not hifi stereo but an improvement nonetheless.
Thanks for a great review. One question: How tall are you, please? I am 190cm, or 6’3”, and normally the standard screen feels fine, but you sure make the F4 sound worthwhile.
Did you have to order the wider version of the stock windshield? You show it being wider but not sure if you had to get the wider version or not. Wondering if their wider version is even wider than the one in your video Thanks for a reply 😊
No mpg impact, and no whistling EXCEPT for very windy days when moving between 30-35mph with the windshield just a bit above my eye level, only then does it make an extremely slight whistle, just barely audible. It really needs to be super windy though for it to even happen. Thankfully I never put the windshield at that height so I never encounter it while riding.
I bought my Wing(2018 Tour) with a Slipstreamer(stock height) windshield. It seemed to jet wind into my face and helmet or I have to have it up high enough where I have to look through the windshield, which I don't like. I thought a "recurve" windshield would do the trick, so I changed it out for a Klock Werks 20" Flare. The Klock Werks in the low position cause air whip around behind my helmet and really bothered my wife's eye as a passenger. When I ran it up, I still had to look through it but it caused air to come in form the sides and under my arms, it was a very weird feeling. AIso with the Klock Works on and under certain conditions, I could feel a slight "bobble" in the front end at highway speeds.... That was it, I returned the Klock Werks and put the Slipstreamer back on. Since, I've been looking into the F4... everyone seems to be happy with their F4 no matter what size they use.
All I can say is with my F4 I can have it down right below my eyes with Dear on the back and she gets very little wind in her face. It's really quite startling, but the recurve on the F4 does an amazing job IMHO. I love mine like crazy, one of the best things I've done to the Wing.
@@MotoMengy I probably should order one. Over the first weekend of October I'm doing a loop ride out of CT, across PA and back through NY. I'd like to have it on for this last major ride of the season.
I've got the F4 Wide 20" with re curve...I'm UNIMPRESSED..It was expensive, its thinner than other brands I've used in the past on other bikes and it vibrates and moves when going 70 mph and above. I find this shaking a visual irritant...The clarity is great to the bare eye but, heavily rainbowed when looking through it with polarized glasses. I'm very disappointed and tired of spending money trying to find a decent windshield for the 2023 Goldwing..
The F4 is the first windshield I've seen the rainbow effect through my riding glasses..In the past my shields have been dark smoke. The F4 is my first light smoke and may be why I'm seeing the rainbow effect.I'm not saying its a bad thing just that its present. The clear stock shield did not rainbow.@PAULIskander
@PAULIskanderNo sir,I've never experienced these issues with other brand Shields. I've always had dark smoke tint in the past and always looked over the top of them....
Unfortunately F4 only do the wider versions on the later wings so I have gone with the Clearview, have to wait for them to make it but that's ok as long as i get what i want.
If you are concerned the front windscreen mounting arms can be pulled forward about a 1/2” which increases the spacing on the winglets when screen is retracted.
AT 80 Mine flexes1/2 to 3/4 of an inch at the top.Its not dangerous just an irritant...That's usually the speed my group travels on the interstate, lol sometimes a little more brisk.I ride in a club of predominately Harley's.Way different than a Wing group..Anyway my point is for what this shield cost it should be made of thicker material..
@@MotoMengy I talked to an F4 salesman today. He basically told me it was out of warranty. I told him I needed to order a new one. He asked me what size and I gave him the measurement of my old one. He stated he would go in the back and check if it was a sport size and would call me back. Still waiting, 12 hours and no call.

Yeah the F4 is awesome, if mine broke tomorrow I'd order a new one immediately.
Looks really sharp! Great looking bike too...LOVE that blue!!
Thanks! I like the blue too, but the 2022 blue Goldwing looked a bit better IMHO.

Yeah F4s are awesome. Honda should just put them on standard!
And which Bluetooth headphones are you guys using?
Sena SRL that fit into shoei neotecll
I agree with your review. I made the switch right away too. Thanks Mengy!
Thanks, everyone I know who runs the F4 says it was money well spent.

Yep, same with the F4. It transformed the whole Goldwing.
Got 41000 kms 0n my f4custom tall screen , cleans spotlessly and looks like the day I bought it, very good investment
Awesome mileage there, we'll done!

I'm 5'8" and the standard 20" F4 is perfect for me. A taller rider might want the 24" shield instead.

When I ordered mine they didn't have width options, so no choice.
Nice review. Are there any impacts to fuel economy or any whistling at higher speeds?

What type of mount is that on the right handlebar. I have a 360 camera and have not found a way to attach it to the bike.
Its the Ciro Handlbar Mount: amzn.to/2QSxamH
Thank you for sharing this valuable information ℹ️ F4 is not a Durand I see on RUclips a lot

Yeah I don't see many Wings running F4's, surprises me.

That's interesting, my normal width 20" doesn't vibrate at all, or at least not enough for me to notice it. I love mine.

Huh, I wonder why they limit the options like that?
Did you get the 'wide' option, or standard? I too am 5' 8", so the 20" screen Coggles be just the ticket.
There weren't width options when I got mine, all three sizes were wider than stock.
Does it rub against the small windshield wings at all? Thanks
No, though it comes very close to them.

I’m curious as to what type of helmets you and wife use to be able to hear each other so well?
Mine is a Bell Mag 9 and hers is a modular full face. It's just so quiet on the Wing, the low wind noise allows us to simply talk normally.
Ok, so now I’m wondering which Bluetooth system you’re using?
@@jerrybradford5073 No bluetooth, I've never owned a communicator. 😎

I'll have to pay close attention to how much mine flexes next time I'm on the highway, maybe I've just never noticed it.
Curious as to how much you paid?
Crap, that's a great question which I totally forgot to address. I paid $349 for mine, looks like they still cost that today.
I am from South Africa. How can I order one from?
I would think F4 Customs ships there?
Superb.
Why did my F4 windshield crystalize ?
Crystalize? Never heard of them doing that, did you use any chemicals on it?
@@MotoMengy nothing but f4 cleaner
@@taf190 I'd contact F4 about that then, seems very odd and they just might replace it for you.

If I go by an F4, then I can tell my wife I need a new Goldwing to put under it.
Excellent strategy! 😁
Or whatever
😎
Way overpriced, lots of better options available.
Maybe, but I'm 100% satisfied with my F4 Customs and the price it cost me. I'd replace it with another F4 in a heartbeat if I needed to!
