ABOUT ME:
My name is Mengy and this is my motovlog channel, Moto Mengy. I plan to upload a Goldwing motovlog every Sunday. I ride a 2018 Honda Goldwing DCT Tour but I rode Harley Davidson's for 25+ years before. I'm motovlogging with a GoPro Hero 8 Black mounted to a Bell Mag 9 open face helmet, no external mic! To me riding is wind therapy.
My goal for the channel is to motovlog Pennsylvania country roads while also motovlog exploring around America. I'll also talk about biker topics and such, probably test ride a few other motorcycles, and will definitely get lost and accidentally wind up on unpaved roads along the way.

Best video I've seen on this route, thankyou.
Wow thanks Brett!
I rode the trace a month ago in May for the third time. Set the cruise at 50 on the 2018 Goldwing and sat back and relaxed. Spent the first night at meriwether lewis campground and the second night at rocky springs. Didnt make too many stops since ive ridden it before. I find its a great relaxing ride since you dont have to deal with traffic and trucks. Great video and it brought back memories
Thanks! It is a very nice & relaxing ride. I'd love to do it again but stop more often to do some walking and sightseeing.
Excellent video. I'm a transplanted southern boy living in NW Washington state (work transfer). This one has always been on my bucket list of rides to do! One of these days, I will ride the FJR cross-country, ride the Trace and visit relatives that still live in Natchez, MS and the Nashville, TN area. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! Washington state is one of three states I've never been to yet. Looking to correct that this summer actually! 😁
Good film job Moto Mendy. Brought back memories of another great trip.
Thanks! Took longer to get this one out than I would have liked, LOL! 😁
Good spot to pull over before you get to the Tennessee River Bridge heading into Alabama on the left. If you wait until the sun is setting you get some great pictures.
Wish I'd known that last fall!
That is a great ride. We did it in 2022. Only problem was road construction had one section in Alabama closed. Natchez starts in Mississippi from the south,up through Alabama into Tennessee. Best to ride it on a weekday. It took us a day and a half.
We had a short section in MI which was closed for construction. The detour off the Trace didn't take long so I didn't even film it.
I like your video style and the road trip. I went along for the journey and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Great job.
Thanks for riding along GoldRyderOne! 😎
Yeah, the Trace is boring if you don't get off the bike and really explore it. No real good lookout points or twisted areas (except the northern part). We "lived" on the trace for 21 days on two separate visits and had a blast. We stayed at the 3 free campgrounds.
If you don't mind...Check out our Natchez Trace playlist, I think you will like it.
I'll have to check it out, see if you show stuff we missed! We would have liked to stop more often but we did have a schedule to try and keep.
Lynda and I rode the Alabama, Mississippi end of the Trace 2 years ago, we will go back and do the whole thing soon. Yes It gets a little blaa in spots but it is beautiful for sure...........................JB..
It is beautiful, but some of it can be monotonous. The part in Tennessee was the most fun for me, I'd gladly ride that part again!
Nice ride my friend beautiful scenery thanks for the ride along have a great evening
Thanks for riding along!
Did the Trace many years ago from MS north in our diesel pusher motorhome.
it would probably be fun in that, stopping at every scenic or historic spot along the way, sleeping in the motorhome wherever you end up not having to worry about hotels. I honestly think I'd love to do the Trace in my Model Y, taking my time and doing a lot of stopping and exploring, sleeping in the car.
Nicely done! I did a solo ride from Natchez MS (MI is Michigan!) to Tupelo before I headed home to MI. Yes, 50 mph can get tiring when you're on a touring bike that likes to do 80! I rode my '18 Voyager 1700. I may go back later this year and do Nashville to Tupelo.
Thats an awesome ride, and solo no less, sounds like a lot of fun! Well done Karl!
So many animals on that road. You’ve got to keep your head on a swivel and your speed down. Some say do it in October when the leaves are in full fall color.
We saw a few critters during the day but man once the sun starts to fall the animals REALLY came out. I would not want to ride the Trace during the night.
Good video
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome Mengy. The mania never ends. Went right through there last week on the way to Knoxville to Deal’s Gap/Tail of the Dragon and the Great Smokey Mountains. The to Daniel Boone State Park in Kentucky. There was some pucker factor riding in throughout those hills. 2865 miles in total from Dallas. Woohoo! If you have time check out F6B_Adventures and Slappy’s Adventures to catch some of Road Glide’s and the boys epic riding. Ya’ll looking fantastic! Never a dull moment on two wheels with Mengy Mania & Co. I’ll over-look the gloves this time cause your Moto Mengy rides tune was so cool. 😂 Rock on Mengy!
I heard my name being called? I like watching motomengy! His stuff is cool, and it doesn’t hurt that we have the same bike!
Now that sounds like a great bike trip! I'm planning to head down to the Dragon in a month or so.
@@MotoMengy
Now you’re talking! Deal’s Gap and Cherohala Skyway!! Woohoo!!
@@F6B_ADVENTURES
Notorious F6B_Adventures! That name is being called out a-lot these days! Catch him soon somewhere or in a town near you.
That’s about the only MC road in America I haven’t ridden.
Wow, you've done very well then! 👍
Yea you right.
Thanks, what am I right about?
That’s a saying down in NOLA when we like something, we just say “yea you right!”
Did you ever change your air filter? If you did, how was it?
Not yet, planning to in June.
Natchez! Like gnat chez Not nachos
My one friend calls it the Nacho Trace, I think he really believes that's its name! 😂
It is Natchez not Notchez. It ends in MS not LA. There is no Notchez LA.
Did I spell it wrong somewhere, because if so I can't find it? 🤔
It’s Tishomingo, MS not MI.
@@MotoMengy There wasn't any problem with how you spelled it. It was the pronunciation you used, you were using a o sound where it should have been an a sound.
Send me a reply when you get out this way! I will meet up with you! Don't worry, I'm not a flake or scammer; I am actually a retired U.S. Border Patrol Agent, an avid MC rider and husband, father and grandfather! The North Cascades (Hwy. 20) is an epic ride...Hope you get to do that one.
Cheers!
I've never been in Washington state yet, hoping to fix that this summer actually!
This is the type of content you need to publish more of on your channel,,,, absolutely awesome! A half hour spent well, thank you 😊
I actually agree with that, these are the videos which are the most fun to make for me.
Natchez is in Mississippi, not Louisiana
Yeah, I found that out as I rode along. Geography is not my strong point! 😂
You're killing me how you kept pronouncing Natchez and a few other towns. Tupelo is a great half-way point with hotels, restaurants, gas, Elvis and the downtown is cool. Vanelli's Bristo downtown has the best pizza ever!! In Alabama, around Tupelo and Jackson, you will encounter folks using the road to commute. Park Rangers have unmarked vehicles (trucks, cars, suvs) so keep that in mind, the fines start at $250 and go up. There has been some shady stuff happen on the Trace so if you stop, just be aware of your surroundings and those around you. Plan your gas stops before riding it. It is a great relaxing road to cruise. Some find it boring but others enjoy it. If you want to do 80mph, just take the interstate. Been traveling the road for over 30 yrs. Always be alert to wildlife. Deer do stupid stuff. Turkeys not much of an issue. Turtles and armadillos will cross the road. Seen horses and cows that got out of their pastures on the road. If riding, try to get off before the sun goes down due to wildlife. Very hard to see. People head deep in their smartphones are a problem. They will cross that double line.
Yeah I've had a few people point out my northerner pronunciations of southern towns, I just didn't know! 😂
I kept looking for salsa...sounds like ta was calling it Nachos 😂😂😂
I know, I know....😂
I like the Trace...you should come on more east and ride the dragon or blue ridge from Gatlinburg up through Boone
Oh I've been on the Dragon and down in the Smokies dozens of times over my lifetime, I love the whole area down there! Usually stay in Maggie Valley when I'm down around there.
