100% agree with you Mengy! The Gold Wing comes standard with a Reverse gear, a slow creep or Walking mode gear and a Center stand make this a very easy heavy touring bike to manipulate in tight spaces and out of parking spots. All of which a good looking equally as heavy Harley or Indian touring does not have. I’m on my 3rd Wing. (84, 96 and now a 22 DCT Airbag). It’s quick, looks great and Honda reliable. Love it! People tend buy what their groups are riding and not what they would really like to ride. Like the Harley sales folks like to sometimes say. Not many will tattoo a Honda logo. 😂 Gold Wings are special. Keep creating Mengy Mania!

I keep mine set to the "1 person with luggage" setting and it rides great for me (175 lbs). I only change it to the 2 person setting when Dear is on the back with me.
With the longitudinal crankshaft, how does motor torque affect handling? Like a boat needs trim tabs at high power, why doesn't a gold wing? A gold wing wheelie might be difficult to pull off?
So after only riding Harley Davidson bikes, you basically get on the Gold Wing and are a convert. I bought a Gold Wing last August, and I regret it. Fit and finish is poor, my saddle bag doors give me erroneous open indications frequently (even when empty). They also leak water inside when it rains or I wash it. The latches on the center storage and RH fairing storage are cheap and do open and close properly every time. Refueling the bike is a pita, if you try and operate the fuel nozzle at anything other than a trickle it overflows. Maybe I got a turd, maybe it could be fixed by a competent dealer, maybe it is just better if I unload this steaming pile and buy the BMW K1600 instead. The G Wing rides nice, the power is okay, but a bit low for an engine of that displacement, the instrumentation is good, the seat is good, and the fuel mileage is so so. As far as the sound goes, it is more of a Porsche 911 sound, the BMW K1600 sounds more like an M3. I do agree with insist on a test ride.
Wow sorry to hear you don't like the Wing, but man sounds like yours had a lot of issues. I agree with some of them but mine has mostly been flawless and perfect. The Wing rides so good. It will be the best boring bike you have ever ridden or owned. Most like the DCT. But the 6MT is a much more engaging bike with a real slipper clutch that works. So if you get aggressive the 6MT is the way to go. Yeah the suspension is soft,,, Honestly to soft and no front preload adjustment. And the the damping and rebound are really poorly controlled through the modes. Even Sport mode does not firm it up. But the suspension geometry is utterly fantastic. The tech sucks and is horribly out of date with the navi audio system being pulled out of the tech trash can from their old cars. And the Bluetooth version was out of date in 2007. The paint is soft and thin and it has the worse air filter change in the complete and total history of the internal combustion engine. The frame is great,,, brakes like a last gen sports bike. It's underpowered but not drastically like a Harley or Indian. It's smooth and quite and easy on the body. They eat miles like a kid eats candy without destroying you. They are not perfect and Honda did cut some corners. Honda is not at any level the company they use to be. So don't pay Hondas asking price. Their not worth MSRP. Get one discounted heavily like I did and then you can start over looking some of the bikes shortcomings and enjoying what it is good at.

I have had the Gold Wing and a HD. The Gold Wind is the way to go it has a great engine unlike the HD that Pings and rattles . That way I stop buying HD .
I still cant believe how cool the Wing's motor runs. I never ever feel any heat from it, not even when sitting in traffic on 100+ degree days, its incredible. Heck the radiator fans hardly ever even run the thing runs so cool!
@@MotoMengyyep. Some friends and I rode the 3 Sisters a few weekends ago here in Texas with triple digits. I think my cooling fans ran twice. When I got home, my fans didn’t kick on even though my outside air temp gauge was reading 105°!! I was surprised.
1984 YAMAHA VENTURE ROYALE IS A GREAT BIKE TOO
Honestly the Venture and the Goldwing from those years look so much alike that I can't tell them apart on the roads!
@@DonaldNolan-l2e 🌿 I LOVE THEM YAMAHAS. EVEN THE BOAT MOTORS
THE PIANOS YAMAHA'S TOP QUALITY
Link to the cup holder ? 👀
Link is in my video description! It's a Ciro Big Cup Holder, and its awesome. 😁
I had 3 Goldwings over the last 25 years. I want to buy a new one but I love the blue or red colours. I can't find anything for sale in Canada! The 2024 colours are boring imho. Maybe the 2025 colours will be better.
I think the 2024 colors are crap too. I wish Honda had more and better colors to pick from.
You were in my neck of the woods
Nice area up there! 😁
REMEMBER GUYS IT IS ALL IN THE MAIN JET OF THE CARBURATORS BACK THEN GUYS
I'm done messing with carbs, its only fuel injection or electric stuff for me from now on! 😂
It's the best touring bike on the planet. Would I get a HONDA Tattoo? No....but having both Harley Bagger and a GW...I love my Harley, but if you put a gun to my head and said "You get one bike"....GOLDWING before you get the "ike" out of your mouth on the word "BIKE". I've got 80K on a 2005 and 2018 GW and Have had a Suzuki too...other than "luggage capacity" the new GW is an amazing machine. Learn how to pack better and get a good WET/DRY bag and use a Luggage rack #problemsolved

What color Gold Wing did you go with ❓
Agreed, the Goldwing is the best touring bike on the planet! 😁
@@David-yp4fl I have a white 2018
Should I buy a Honda goldwing?? Let me 🤔.
I bought SIX goldwings, so ya, I'd buy a goldwing 😅😂................. 😊😊
HAH, well I guess you were hooked a long time ago! 😃
I owned a Honda once. 1981 CB1000C and THAT is the reason I'll never buy another Honda anything. not a motorcycle, car, lawn equipment, private jet, nothing. my experience with Honda was THAT BAD!
@@stevecurran5206 💡
YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THEM IF THE EXPERIENCE WAS THAT BAD 🤠
🤔 I truly hate that the experience was so bad. We've all got to go through some storms in life 🧬 if you don't have some horror stories you haven't been anywhere or did anything that's the truth 🌡️ much luck while traveling through this veil of tears 🗑️ LOVE FROM MISSISSIPPI USA 🇺🇲
OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW TO MODIFY A STREET BIKE OR CHECK THE CHAIN OR DRIVE SHAFT EITHER. WHAT WAS YOUR MAIN ISSUE?
My 2018 Goldwing is the first Honda anything I've ever owned, but my experience so far has been awesome. (knocks on wood....)
NOT ME. OLD 1 IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN YOU EVEN REALIZE BUDDY.. I KNOW USED TO RIDE A 1978 GOLDWING AND A 1984 HONDA V65 MAGNA
I lot of people prefer the previous gen Wing, the bigger one. I never liked the looks of that Wing at all. As much as I do appreciate bikes from the 80's and such, I'd never want to own one again. I spent too many years wrenching on bikes from those years, at my age I just want to ride. 😎

I agree with you so much 💓
A lot of these people that built machinery bikes cars airplanes 🤔 when they died the quality went with them 😔😔
Agreed on everything except for the Wing being underpowered, man I've never once felt that way about it. But then I rode HD's for 25 years so that might be why...😂
I HAVE FOUND A GIANT HONDA DEALER IN NASHVILLE TENNESSEE THE BIGGEST IN THE US I AM PLANNING TO GO AND RIDE A GOLDWING ♥️ AND IF I BUY ONE I WILL DEFINITELY GET A DCT 💡 I LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE BLACK ONE 🤔 BY THE WAY ANYONE GOING TO NASHVILLE TAKE EXTRA AMMO 📈 LOVE FROM MISSISSIPPI USA 🇺🇲
Right on David, I hope you get one! 😁

I HAVE NOT WENT YET BUT SOON
I ALSO WANT TO RIDE THE NEW INDIAN 101 🤔 IT HAS GOT MY ATTENTION
MY EVERYDAY RIDER IS A YAMAHA STRYKER IT'S BEEN GREAT 👍 AND THE GIRLS LIKE IT 💜 BUT I WANT TO GET RID OF IT BEFORE IT GETS HIGH MILEAGE AND GET ANOTHER CHEAPER BIKE FOR EVERYDAY USE 💡 I LIKE TO WEAR OUT THE CHEAP ONES AND SAVE THE HIGH-DOLLAR ONES FOR TRAVELING 🌡️
IF I HAD YOUR MONEY I WOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT IT 💰💰💰
You are going to the wrong place it is in Chattanooga,TN
THE FIRST GOLDWINGS WERE SUPERIOR TO THE ONES THEY HAVE NOW
Do you mean the very first Goldwing, 1974? They did look incredibly classic and awesome, but I'd take my 2018 over the 1974 any day. 😎

I BOUGHT A NEW HARLEY AND MADE THE MISTAKE TO GO RIDING WITH SOME BROTHERS AT THE HAMASA TEMPLE SHRINE CLUB IN MERIDIAN MS AND THEY WOULD TAKE OFF AND LEAVE ME LIKE I WAS SITTING ON JACKS AND I STILL HAVE TO LISTEN TO THEM TALKING JUNK ABOUT IT ♥️
@@MotoMengy DO YOU NOT REALIZE WHAT AN OLD GOLDWING WILL GO FOR IN MINT CONDITION?
