Last race of the 2021 season... who's ready for 2022?!
it will be 2020 too, electric boogaloo!
Hey man I was in the race scene at my local track awhile back and was running the 22 3.0 how does that model stack up in todays racing. I know yours is a 5.0 and mine may be a little out dated but just wanted to hear your opinion. Thanks in advance.
This NEEDS to grow! Every state gas several cities with convention centers/hotels that could fit races like this. Playing with cars in the house, WooHoo!
Your RC race footage is the definitive benchmark for all RC videos out there. Period.
The angles are spot on, the cut is great and the music is awesome. A big THANKS for making and sharing this. Really makes me enjoy my hobby even more.
I had an absolute blast that weekend! Can't thank you enough for the help and support! Now I have to return the favor by getting you to race a dirt bike for the first time 😬😬
You don’t want the 💨
@@RyanHarrisRC 10/10 would love to see your first day doing a moto
Scotty on the mic is awesome!! He brings such energy to any race!
Scotty is the man. He sold me my first rc car and first kit when I was like 12. Helped me set it up and was just extremely helpful. If every hobby had a Scotty everyone would be much happier
With that opening shot of Cleveland I was like, did this dude forget to get a shot of the race venue so he just slipped in one of his hotel? 😆 That battle for 3rd in the 4WD A Main was like watching two cars connected by an invisible rubber band. Great to see you mentoring the groms and really becoming an ambassador for the hobby. Love the content and the production quality, brother. 🤙
The race was in a hotel…
You had an outstanding run and I am glad we got to meet in person!
Incredibly cool to see Aaron and Andrew Kothman running so well!!! I remember how awesome it was when Aaron turned 13 and we could say we were getting whooped by a teenager instead of a 12yo.
A huge thanks to your videos and setup development that you share with our RC Community. I've never ran carpet offroad, but will next week and will start with your setup. Thank you very much and wish you the best always!
Ryan let me tell you, I was feening for another video of yours. They bring nothing but informational happiness along with talking about everyones favorite hobby... Toy Cars. Keep it up Ryan, and Late Merry Christmas and to a great racing year of 2022! 🤜🤛
Autographed Kinser shirt ftw. Grew up around dirt racing. Still working on finishing up my 2wd for the first time, can't wait to get to race!
I've never ran carpet offroad before and had the opportunity this week after getting the car built. I used your setup and I have to say I'm absolutely amazed at how well it worked and fit my driving style. Thank you so very much for sharing your setup and I can't wait for our first race at the local area new carpet track Hayden Radio Control Raceway (HRCR).
Scotty is the MAN! Heard him first nearly 30 years ago at Trackside Hobbies when it was in Brown Deer, WI.
Glad to have got to met you in Cleveland. Love watching your videos. Keep you the good work.
I like the idea of carpet racing, MUCH less clean up than proper dirt, but I also love the low traction of loose surfaces
True dirt is a dying breed. These prepped glass like surfaces are cool n all but nothing like a dirt track that changes dynamically every run with ruts and shooting roost.
@@MegaManJuice101 Totally. 2wd on a proper dirt track takes a massive amount out patience. Almost like trying to steer an unguided missile around the track. I love it, just the clean up and track maintenance sucks heh
@@Dia1Up maintenance after dirt tracks is the same to me as I'm always breaking the car down and going over it anyways after a weekend even on a clay track. #makedirttracksgreatagain 😂
I love the shirt bro, I live in Knoxville Iowa so I know all about the Kinser family and their legendary accolades. Not too many people know about sprint cars which is crazy to me but mad respect to you my man
Whaaaat!!! I was holding my breath! Nice to see you helping other young racers/
Team losi Vs Team Associated, the question of all questions. Obviously it comes down to the driver but wow what cars these companies make. Unreal. A very long way from my grasshopper days and RC10T with 3 piece wheels
Wow, love the idea of the the Hotel Race, wish we had that sort of thing in UK. Guess I'll have to check flight prices for next year 😀.
Ryan, I think your content is great, used to watch even when I just drove crawlers and had no intention of ever racing. Now here I am with 1/10 4wd and 2wd buggy, 1/10 RallyX and 1/8 ebuggy, and just not enough weekends to fit them all in, lol.
Yea. Nothing like this in the uk that I know of
Hey Ryan!, I wish you talked about pill selection on the blocks and why you choose that configuration, same with camber link locations and how that's affecting your car. I'm a noob that's enjoying your content and wanting to learn more. Be nice to learn more about setups and why you make those changes on these tracks with different surfaces.
Try the setups and see if they work out! Best learning tool I can suggest is personal trial and error during practice 🤘
@@RyanHarrisRC thanks for the reply. I've done that, my issue is not understanding what these changes are actually doing to the cars. I'm a visual learner. If a new guy doesn't understand what the changes are doing, we beat ourselves up 😂. The pills are confusing!
@@MegaManJuice101 Research camber, caster, And toe (in/out) Once you understand, it will stick. I learned from riding atv's and it transferred to rc cars very easily. A couple examples off my head: toe in will help with tracking but can cause roll over, toe out takes away top speed but will fight rollovers and help you to enter turns quickly. Caster effects how the tires track at speed. Camber adds stability, and helps in corners.
@@jaybee6695 thank you bro! That was helpful. I appreciate the examples as well. I'll look at some vids at what you suggested to look up.
My bro....i remember when u only had 1800 subs LOL. Great to see u doing so 👍
I've only ever raced buggy on carpet. Since 1990.
Scotty could announce a turtle race and make your hair stand up and drop what your doing and watch the finish. Best there is!
You are pretty much the Mr Steele of the car world lol.
just being out there is a win. its just fun
I haven't run carpet in a long time. But it's strange that you don't run foam in the tires. In fact, at my local track, we would double up on closed cell inserts. Granted, the track had been closed for years.
You the man, the one who showed me everything
Scotty is the best. Enjoyed the video.
Great stuff buddy
Nice shirt!!! The King!!
Dude. You deserve every ounce of success. Insane quality of production, and some great stuff all around.
Is RC racing still pretty active? I used to run 2wd dirt with Losi back in the early 90s . My biggest win was the North American Coca Cola challenge in Buffalo NY and took out all the factory teams and the big names . It was a big upset and everyone wanted to know everything about my rig . They couldn't believe I used a JRXT which was the budget version of Losi's truck but it had much better weight distribution and I ran the slipper a bit tighter and the diff a little looser than the competition . That was basically the opposite setup from everyone else. It was one of those days where you can't do anything wrong .
Use 4 smaller carbide plates. As close to the corner of the chassis as possible. Instead of brass. Brass raises center of gravity of battery.
Ryan good video you are so fast it is hard to believe you can think so fast some of the corners were a blur to me. This may be a dumb thought however I am new to indoor offroad so hear goes what if you either put heavier fork oil in the front or a heavier spring would that work instead of adding glue to your front tires?
Do you happen to know how they make/where they buy those red and white pinwheel markers around some of the turns?
Really enjoy your videos bro 🤘🏾🤘🏾💪🏾 inspired me to pick up one of these buggy’s and get into racing 😊 i bought the 2wd elite tlr and I have a tekin 17.5 motor and hobby wing esc and pro tech fan . Do you think I should change my setup to a faster setup ? And do you recommend any better motors and esc then what I have ?
You should try some dirt oval
And then come to RC chili bowl
In Tulsa Oklahoma in January
Scotty does this event too
Are you ever coming to LCRC in Pennsylvania in 2022?
@Ryan Harris would you recommend the 2 setup sheets in the description as a good baseline for Beachline Raceway? Or do you have other setup sheets for that track? I’m going to start racing 2wd and 4wd there very soon.
Any plans to make a video on the current 22 5.0 mods you have? 22x4 rear end? Cutting front arms and hubs for different tire offset?
Scotty looks a bit like the Scott Morrison, The Australian Prime minister!
If you like carpet racing you should test HotRace 1/10 Offroad Foam tires on carpet. Not so agresiv like a rubber tire.
Ryan is a front wing needed on astroturf?
Where are the setups posted at?
Lol Steve kinser lives 10 mins away from me
I know this is an older video, but is there a novice class at this race? Great content and advice 👍
BTW you'll see me sitting at my pit spot watching LiveRC as the cars going up the step up and stepdown
setup at young guys let them beat you? ---you are getting old man ;)) -and greetings to scotty from Vienna ;)
For clay tracks do you sauce your tires? If so, which brand do you use?
How do you like the stock body driving style? It feels lazy for my style, borderline on the numb side. Just curious is all
17.5t???
Can you do more nitro videos please
'
love R.C car / truck...
no wonder why this man use a cap on the head
Dial in to that mode of focus that exceeds self preoccupation. Watch some Bruce Lee footage. Do some Bruce Lee Push ups. On the next race day go full Bruce Lee mode. Keep all muscles face feet stomach etc.relaxed so only the biggest muscle is used 🧠. You and the guy were intense in the 4wd race. 🏆🎥🤝🤙
Ryan are you running foams in the front prism, on 4wd?
Yes! Details are in that setup sheet
Are we just going to sit here and ignore the offset wheels on that 2wd?
What happened to the channel? There has not been a video in a year or so...
Carpet is way to fast for my eyes hahaha
Work on your throttle control and corner speed. Steady.
Bro, are you kind of sad on this video? you ok buddy?
Sorry to come across that way! I have been trying to talk at a lower volume and level it out in post (sometimes I talk too loud and it seems like I’m shouting) I’ll try not to be so chill in the next one haha
@@RyanHarrisRCIt's ok. I really enjoy your videos. I was just a bit worried. Nice to know you are not feeling down. Race on!!
That 4wd battle was 👌👌 that's what rc is all about Yeow! Awesome video keep up the good work👍
Absolutely love what you are doing for the hobby! Out of the game for a long time and your videos have helped me tremendously!
Steve Kinser the living legend of Sprint cars
Super cool of you to go out of your way to Congratulate Ryder in his 21.5 TQ. He was pumped to get to meet you that weekend. Thanks for the encouraging words from a really excited Dad after we got the win that weekend!!!!
This channel is awesome because I feel like everyone is learning/teaching so much.
That’s the goal!
@@RyanHarrisRC definitely doesn’t happen on all channels though. Amazing to see you helping people then seeing them get so much faster throughout the weekend. Meanwhile, RUclips enables you to still get help from others even while running other chassis. Every driver that is sponsored should be teaching and supporting other drivers like you are. Keep it up man.
it took me a second to see this layout was really lame. has no dub dub no triple. looks like on road with speed bumps. carpet is really fun but lets see some jumps.
Love ur channel but every time i see ur mustache i think of somebody sitting in a chair in a big ass tree hunting deer 🤷🏽♂️😂
I know nothing of your financial situation or whatever, but it seems like you could quit your day job and go all in with your channel and the Rc industry in general. Your work is second to none.
Thank you for the kind words! I’m trying to figure out how to go full time with this stuff, but not quite there yet 😕
@@RyanHarrisRC that’s great to hear you’re getting close at least. Can’t imagine what you’ll be capable when you’ll be able to dedicate more time and focus to it…. Rooting for ya!
Awesome video! Your content and production quality is always incredible! Keep it up Ryan! 👍
Hey Ryan, your videos are top notch my good Sir. Many years on the you tube, and first time to really hit that subscribe button in years . I dig your kindness 👌
I started watching your videos a couple months ago and now I got my first buggy kit to put together and gonna start racing locally! Thanks for all the info so far!
I think we need an humidor tour brother have the same one just wondering what is favorite cigar.
Liga Privada No9 is probably my all around fav! Had some more limited Padron stuff that ranks high for me as well
Only in Ohio💀
Awesome vid an racing enjoy
Great video man. I also like your GA-2100!! Thumbs up!!
What type of airbrush paints do you use also how do you prevent orange peel when air brushing. I have tried different pressures and got the same results. Any tips?
I love your rc buggy they are amazing good job on the races
I've been binge watching RC videos because I just started getting back into it after 8 years. Just built a B7D 21.5 buggy and raced at a club race in Burlington WI this weekend. I have raced at Trackside too and even back when Scotty owned it. He is a very cool guy. So far getting back into it I am really slow and didn't have the tools anymore to make sure my car was setup but it was a lot of fun.
Good job! Carpet rules
Can you help me I bought a Losi 22 5.0 dc can you guide me I. The direction to find a front and rear sway bar kit for it will 4.0 parts fit on it
I’d like to see a review from someone that races using other good transmitters on the fly sky noble nb4/ pro. I’ve heard good things but am hesitant to purchase one until there’s more about them. Supposedly they are great for the money and comparable to the big name pro transmitters.
I just got into carpet racing and I have a Traxxas bandit. What would you recommend for tires and wheels?
Just subscribed to your channel. Loving the content all the way from Australia.
I've also milled out the chassis under the battery and filling with epoxy carbide filled in.
Could you do a video on how to drive in traffic. That's a big issue usually in the first couple if turns, or trying to pass.
I like your video friend 👍🤩
That was a good race thank you for sharing I enjoy all your videos very helpful thank you brother
The V2 springs, were they Team Associated V2? Thanks
First time if watched Ryan’s videos 10/10
Carpet off road? Take out the jumps and call it touring cars!
I struggle finding my zen again after a top position loss
Hey Ryan have you ever been to Epic rc racing complex?
Not since the DDH days
They are having a race on January 2nd just so you know if you were looking to race somewhere next weekend.
Skinny Bone Puck the 22x-4? @14:10
I am related to Steve Kinser, Sheldon Kinser was my grandmas brother. Love the carpet racing!
Hey how are you doing today
GOOOOOBBBLSSS TIMMMAAYYY!!
Ryan, really enjoy your videos and what you do to promote the hobby. But to do it with a Steve Kinser shirt on takes it to another level! Keep up the good work.
It's an interesting video. Buggy's agile driving is cool. I look forward to it this year. I enjoyed it 😃
Great video!
