Like it, good to have some reflection and the details of the races. You need to interview the driver of the winning car to find out how his car is setup to be so good. That's what we all want to know!

Maybe you could film a session or a series where a pro coaches you. Say a session with you setting a baseline of laps to get a starting point, then have a pro coach you and then see what the new baseline becomes. That way you get aweso.e content AND gets better at driving.

@@PopalongRC I recon it would be awesome.
We could see the whole running of an event from how to prepare for an RC event (tools, equipment, spares, tuning gear, etc), the track set up and tear down, the tuning and repairs on the go, what tools are used for what (speciality tools us normies wouldn't know for example), sign in processes etc
You could get a whole bunch of content and I'd be interested at least, lol
On a personal note, I'd love if you interviewed somebody who is disabled in the hobby since I have mobility issues and I want to help out, but I can't really help with track set up or marshalling

I have plenty of space for you guys to hide your rc cars in my garage. I had over 30 Tamiya open kits when I was in the UK....wish I still had a few of them with me.
Bashing and collecting isn't stressful but when you get racing and people take you out it's very frustrating. You paid money to have a good time but when Johnny comes along and misses your car, and breaks your car, it gets annoying. Breaking your own car is one thing but when someone else breaks it or takes you out tempers can flair.

Really enjoyrd this one! Great filmning of the race and really nice to hear Marks comments during the race. You should deffinetly do more of this. You could also discus line choice and alternative strategies. Like slow and tight vs fast and round. When to break and how to manage the throttle trough the turn. I bet some pros will chip in with alternatives as well

My advice would be for the winter to just focus on a couple of classes like Mark does, your new 2wd buggy and whatever else goes best for you indoors that you can run regularly. The Tamiya makes sense for you being a huge Tamiya fan(Carl) so maybe stick with the TT-01or2 or one of the M chassis cars(just the one 👀). That will help you come the Iconic events in the summer. As long as you're having fun that's all that matters but for me it would be good to see you progress(Carl) with your racing. And yeah Mark you had very little traction so I think you were right about being on the wrong tyre

  • @Andy_Yates

I like this style of commentary while you watch the race. It really helps follow the action. I was shaking off some serious rust last night at the club race while maybe having an off day too. Work travel and other things kept me away from the track for a bit over a week. Being relatively new to racing, I didn't realize how perishable the skill was. During qualifying I also bumped the driver stand with my transmitter, which knocked the battery door to the floor and left my LiFe battery dangling. Thankfully it stayed plugged in but I had to hold the transmitter atop the rail so the battery didn't fall. I also had my low voltage alarm going off for the last minute or so. Talk about an awkward race but we were laughing about it later. I also ordered a new transmitter battery since it appears to not be fully charging now 🤦‍♂😑😂

Carl nice boss move on that first lap. You should do whatever you want mate. If you want to race and get better stick to a coupe cars and really maximize the performance. If you want to drive a wide variety of cars and just have fun that's fine as well. I definitely enjoyed the more detailed race coverage. I'd be happy to watch a full race with a voice over explaining what you guys were thinking as you were driving.

  • @DanOsborne

I thought I'd chip in as I won the TT01 class. First off, I geared my car very high (28/55) and then ran a 40mm fan to keep it cool, everyone else was geared much lower than I was. I also ran a quick battery pack (Intellect 8400mah) for the added weight and extra power it offers. I discharged the battery between rounds and charged it at 10A from storage for more power.
The HPI Mondeo is also a good bodyshell, I applied additive for only 10-minutes, 1/2 on the inside front to stop the car being too pointy and help avoid grip rolling. Oh and no crashing, that also helped my lap times :) That's about it really! There's not much you can really do to the TT01 to gain a sagnificant advantage, but the small things go a long way. Most importantly have fun!
