@@dan7462 There's actually 'SF groupies' that specifically hang out at local bars that are typically frequented by SF guys and she's one of them (I had no idea such a thing existed until I met my ex). After George died in 2013, she was already remarried, but would make a huge production out of 'honoring' him every year, which in my opinion was highly dispectful to his current wife Michelle and his family. I was w/my ex for 13 yrs who's an instructor w/JSOC. Her current husband actually came through the course he teaches. Let's just say she's not the brightest bulb on the block and never dared speak a word to me. I'm guessing the few brain cells she's working with gave her enough sense not to! The only reason I was around her frequently is she had a child w/my ex and then we had a son which she tried to say was not his real brother. She's no genius, lol

Thank you brother. I only spent 4 years in the Marine corps but in my lifetime I've met some seals a couple of Green berets other special forces guys I even had the pleasure of getting to know a British royal Marine. All of the above had a way about them so calm so involved in listening to someone and the way presented themselves and the way they spoke was something very out of the ordinary of a very common Fighting Man. Nothing but 1000% respect for all of them, especially the green berets they are on a level it's unbelievable

Green Beret's are definitely some of the most humble, kind, intelligent people I've come to talk to in the Army. Their mission is so much broader than just strike operations. They become part of the foreign community. From training Soldiers, helping families, and building community centers like schools and demolished buildings from past battles. One person described them as the most bad ass school counselors you'll ever meet. They're definitely NOT special operations, they are special forces. Ask any Ranger to go through a wall and they'll just beat it sensless until they get through. Ask a Green Beret to go through a wall, and he'll just get another Ranger to do it for him. That's the difference between them and regular grunts. Really smart and talented people.

I was Lucky enough to have an 82nd that I grew up with, and a Navy Seal. Both Family members when home on leave still vigorously worked out 3 to 4 times a day.
Both made it but not without being shot. They would come home for a short time & leave again to go back to it.
I would say they are the most dedicated.
When our Green Beret came home from his last tour I was told NOT TO WAKE HIM OR GO IN HIS ROOM WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING ANYMORE 😢 that he might accidentally hurt me.
      Thank you Special Forces

I spent 7 years in Afghanistan, most of it as an ETT (with 3rd SFG and 7th SFG) and the rest as a contractor working with the ANA.
I worked with French, UAE, Norwegian, British, Dutch, and US Special Forces.
All of those units had some exceptional personnel. All of those units were highly trained, were in exceptional shape and very intelligent.
But the US Special Forces was, without a doubt, the most professional and cool-headed warriors I met over there, and they possessed a vigorous spirit and enthusiasm in training and combat, far above the others.
I enjoyed every minute I spent with them.

Not really. Delta has recruits from all over the US Army including Green Berets TIER 2 units. Delta is the next level up, and has its own selection process. In the UK our SF (or Special Operations, using US jargon) do much of the stuff Green Berets do and all the other SF stuff. UK also has other special units for specific functions , like Pathfinders and Mountain Leader Royal Marines, who do some of what Green Beret do. Difference is, the US silos roles into separate units, as they have so much money and men. UK do more with less organisations...

Excellent video. I was in SF and MACVSOG 67 -68. I am very impressed at how much SF has evolved. The training, gear, etc. Back then SF was not on your list of smart things to do for career. We were often considered black sheep by higher ups. But for "some reason" the powers that be wanted us. And what we accomplished.
Looking back at my time in MACVSOG (C&C Central) I realize that the SOG activities were impressive. But the U. S. Army Special Forces was where I fit. Philosophically, psychologically.

I remember being a very green and young Combat Engineer in 2005, in Iraq…A SF A-Team used to imbed with our patrol to go from Mosul up-to Dahuk…Dahuk had the only Class VI resupply point in that AO😂…I’m pretty sure that’s the Only Reason they came with…but it darn sure made me feel a lot better knowing I’m conducting some of my first patrols in theatre…and I’ve got 12 Quiet Professionals with us!! But what made the most difference for me…. helped me and my friends to stay Alive…was the SF Team Leader, a SFC that we called ‘Stony’, he saw that I was super amped…he took the time to set me down and explain what to look and listen for…the signals that something might be wrong…and maybe most importantly, he taught me to relax whenever it’s possible!
His advice…considering the Source…allowed me to make an instant shift to a far more survivable perspective and approach! Although, I still had many more lessons to learn in a Combat Zone…I will never forget one of the first lessons; taught by a man didn’t have to even say a word to me, but cared enough to help me get my mind RIGHT!! Thanks for posting! Sappers In The Breach!!

"Stay safe" isn't really applicable.. Just make it home. America is better with you here..✊🇺🇸🍻

Staying safe is the whole point of all that training. And the guns. The training and the guns enable them to stay safe in otherwise unsafe conditions. So yeah, "stay safe" is definitely applicable. Staying safe is inherent to the mission in fact.
