You can tell this is at a Cold Chisel concert with Don Walker on the keyboard/piano. Usually at a time when Jimmy has a break. For more Mossy check out Tucker's Daughter and Telephone Booth among his other songs.
Just a point of info, mate: Hoagy Carmichael wrote Georgia on my Mind, but Ray had a huge hit with it. Mossy's always killed this with his soaring vocals and blistering guitar work.
@mrmockatoo I've read somewhere before that this clip only came about due to the camera operator being awestruck at the beginning of the song, picking up the camera and recording it. Long story short is that he had a list of tracks to film just Ian only throughout the night. This song was not on the list and thus never made it onto the film "The Last Stand." Edit. I found the link and story to what I've said above. Check this out. ruclips.net/video/NhFXjzRRv4w/видео.html
Oh, you'll love Cold Chisel - Janelle. Written by Don Walker about his daughter Danielle. "Don Walker’s bluesy ‘Janelle’, sung by Ian Moss, started out as ‘Danielle’ - a song about Walker’s young daughter - but the name and the lyric’s direction changed."
This is the first song Mossy and Walker jammed on, hence ended with..... Ohh and Georgia is a girl not the state ... The brillance is the number of out tune/scale notes used that make the solo truly scream, imagine being so good that playing outta tune sounds good !!!! here endith the lesson, peace and love ✌❤
You seem like a down to earth decent bloke. You'll do well with the Aussies mate. Most of us a pretty easy going and friendly with decent down to earth people from all over the globe. Subbed and liked mate. Greetings from Queensland Australia. Hope you are well
Glad you liked it. Ok you know I love all things Chisel and Mossy and Barnsey but my ears just pricked up then when you said you are a fan of Ray Charles. So as I am a super fan of John Farnham ...I'd like to suggest this one. Ray Charles and John Farnham together singing Imagine. Older Farnsey than what we have shown you so far ....but it was a awesome duet . m.ruclips.net/video/cZVpl7LJ0zA/видео.html
Maybe I'm just a biased Aussie, but Mossy does the best version of this song. No disrespect to Chuck, love his music. By the way, other great songs Ian sings in cold chisel are Never before and Best kept lies.
Without doubt one of the better guitarists of all time, you should have a good look at Taj Farrant who will blow you away with the technique and improv that he plays. Played with Santana and Rob Thomas, Orianthi and at Johnny Diesels nightclub. Just finished a tour of the States recently. Way beyond his years, Gary Moore, SRV and Angus Young were big influences along with Prince, Pink Floyd and Joe Satriani. Probably the best young guitarists since Joe Bonamassa. He really is that good. He'll make you feel like you should just put your guitar down and pay attention to watching how this boy of 13 can make you appreciate raw natural talent. Cheers mate 👍🇦🇺
Saw him live 2 weeks ago❤️ even better than you can imagine he almost blew the roof off the pub👌🇦🇺❤️GOAT STATUS‼️
He was also at a concert in Perth a couple of weeks ago. Maybe 3 weeks
Where??? Mackay QLD here
Haven't seen Mossy for year's always puts on a Agrade performance no matter the venue 👏🤟
Love this cover, Ian Moss is so talented with the guitar and has an amazing voice
My alltime fave performance from Mossy. This was the Barking Spiders concert. It was pretty full on
Just awesome!
Mossy is right up there with the best of them. He has so much soul. Very very talented. Thanks Monty. 👍
To me, this performance is perfection.
Incredible to me that it doesn't get more attention. This is a labour of love, perfected.
Talk about someone pouring themselves into a performance! Just brilliant!
I LOVE Ray Charles and I feel like he would have got a lot of joy out of Mossy’s super smooth version. It’s just so smooth and so pretty!
mind blown

It was cold chisel but called themselves the barking spiders

Mocky our resident music historian is in the house..
@@Dr_KAP Plenty of room in the padded cell, Kappy.

Awesome vocals and awesome guitarist! Mossy is the best. Thanks for a great reaction!
Crazy good.

Hey Monty, same gig as Wild Thing…..

Definitely try Tucker’s Daughter.

Hell Yeah!!!!
Gotta check out Chisel's version of Wild Thing....
Great quality considering it was early 80s. Cold Chisel had many hits so there will be plenty to discover.

The partys over comes to mind
They did put the sound in the b&w words bit, to fill our the performance, it was a good read too.
John Farnham sang this years ago: worth a watch 😀
that is some smooth ,bluesy rocker....i think in the first album, he hits the heights with some supercharged ,grunty rockabilly
try willie nelson's version. you'll be pleasantly surprised.
i was just thinking of WN before i saw your comment.....
mate..you missed out on the intro to the song....laying a carpet of delicious sound ....to where you started it...
Have a listen to Peter frampton do his version, different again but awesome as well.
what a duet riff .......plus Mossy's dulcet tone
