Excellent Video Matt, sorry for your misfortune, surely there is some sort of electronic alarm system that can signal that a grain door is open, heck you might be able to come up with a mechanical contraption. Great vid on the perils of remodeling, know that is in itself a pain in the tush. Good to see that you're assisting the Israelis, goodness knows they need all of the goodwill and support they can get at the moment. And they are indeed excellent farmers, growing good crops on what was formerly desert land is truly exceptional.
Can they steam and roll corn and soybeans at the same time ? Sure they probably do that separately and a big company not going to change there normal operation for one guy I understand. Just wondering if it can be done
Do you have a livestock feed mill close by? They may have a better price because of the higher protein of the beans and could blend it in with small amounts of your succotash. When I owned my feed business, I help a farmer out that had something similar to yours happen.
I noticed the Alpha Gamma Rho garbage can in your laundry room. I guess you are a AGR from University of Tennessee? I was/am a AGR at Auburn in the late 80's, early 90's.
i never had this mess before but my wife did it to elevator one year she pulled the leverv on dump trk before they had pit empty opps corn on top of beans she felt bad but mgr said they just ran the pit into empty bin and blended it in rail cars but they only had a small amount
I know one thing Matt. When you get our age and have to climb up and down those bins all day we wish they will make escalators or elevators to go up and down. Them old legs get to hurting after a couple trips up and down. 😂😂
Nothing wrong with showing people the struggles and 900 things we do a day. I was loading out trucks all day between the house and the farm. It’s not all filmed.
I feel your pain. I mixed barley with wheat once in a silo. Fortunately the seed cleaners could seperate both but it still cost me.
I do know also there is a beef finisher farm here in southern mn. that takes mixed grain like yours for their ground grain for their cattle.
Whoops! Good, packed content video. That's a lot of irons in the fire! Happy New Year!

Very unfortunate. I hope its not as bad as it seems
Tyson probably going to blend it and grind it for feed anyhow
It was blended, but not for feed. Chickens cannot digest an unprocessed soybean.

Why not buy you a seed separator .
This is probably a dumb question...but could you have grainvac'd out of the top of the bin? Or would that have been counter productive?
Not enough clearance to get in the bin
@@griggsfarmsllc ok that makes sense
Would a gravity table do you any good?
What about selling as feed? Someone could grind it.
Deer hunter special!
feel bad for you on the grain issue
Bad year to loose any extra money with things as tight as they already are
Dang it!! On the bright side, you won't make the same mistake again.....
Guaranteed
You’re not the first one to do it.😂 everything likes bean meal.
Kelly didn’t have much to say there MATT!! Make sure we see KELLYS finished bathroom 👍👍. Deep breaths Matt👍👍🤦♂️🤫. Thanks sir!!
Look into a tankless water heater it will be best thing you have ever gotten
I would if we were set up for propane. There is no access for natural gas
Those bins don’t pull the good corn from the bottom first
So you changed the booms on the sprayer???? Never mind you just explained

I’m so glad 13 years ago when I was 32 and built the bins that I wasn’t too cheap to put up ladders instead of stairs…
We have some old bins that go straight up like stairs. They will surely get that heart to pumping. 😂
Vacuum the beans off the top?
Not enough clearance to get in there
sorry to here what happened but i'm sure it will turn out ok. Also i wish i could sell my corn and beans for 4.50 and 10.00
That's why you got a double check everything
insurance claim on the mess up ?
Insurance doesn’t cover things like that
Aren't they buying sucketash?
I think you guys should just put the camera down and deal with the task at hand

The Amish in Ohio market a portable seed cleaner that might cash flow here.
