Gorgeous . I was there in the 80’s , but only for afternoon cocktails . I remember meeting a woman at the bar . She had stopped for a drink after flying in then heading to her home on the other side of the island . We had so much fun at the bar , 😂😂 she had to spend the night there .
Thanks for this feature. Tryall Club is nice as well. The decor and architecture of the homes are out of this world. The majority are private and few belong to the Club. Consider a episode.
In 2014 I had the privilege and joy of spending time with June Gay Pringle in Treasure Beach on the southern coast of Jamaica. She was living at her sister Sally Henzell’s amazing resort Jake’s and we met on the beach where we both were searching for shells and playing with the beach dogs. She was in her 70s and so full of life and kindness and taught me how to body surf. We also took long walks on the beach singing hymns. She told me she also had a home in Montego Bay, but preferred Treasure Beach. I will always treasure a little diary she gave me, as well as a shell sculpture. I wonder if she was related to John Pringle?
@@robinchurch5658 How cool. I absolutely adore these stories on the island. The Pringles were quite instrumental in the history of Jamaica. There's a good chance that June was related to Hotelier, John Pringle. The name first appeared in Jamaica in the 1870's when a doctor from Scotland arrived and married into a prominent land owning family. Thanks so much for sharing.
Check out the Jamaica Inn also in Montego Bay. Similar history , smaller, right on the beach. The ocean comes up to our space on one side where I can dangle my feet off the porch into the water with tropical fish swimming around and on the other side I can walk out and I'm on the beach. So special.

Wow! Imagine travelling to Italy and having a tour of a national institution conducted by a Russian or Finn with a thick accent. An effort should have been made to find a Jamaican to give the tour
I love Homeworthy and I love Alison Kenworthy's work but I sometimes find the cadence of the narrator's voice to sound a little like a newscaster from the 90s. A more mellifluous vocal style would be so appreciated to go with this standout content.
I love Homeworthy and welcome to Jamaica! One love🥂
What a beautiful place! Thank you Josef for sharing all the stories and passion behind Round Hill!
We stayed at Roundhill for a perfect 5 days last April: the property is exquisite and the hospitality is phenomenal!!
What an amazing place. Thank you so much for taking us on this fantastic tour. Those villas are incredible.

The story of the original owner of Round Hill Hotel, John Pringle is quite fascinating
