I noticed that your post is showing how you ran the chains on your crank an the only place where I need a tensioner was on the chain going from the motor to the crank. My question for you is; how do you start it now because when you engage the clutch by pulling in handle you now can pedal like a regular bike, but if you popped the clutch like normal, I noticed that the only change is now when you pedal it's now attempting to kick start the motor instead of just engaging the clutch.
Does your air filter stick out too far on your carb/build?..... would you have got an adjustable 45° air filter instead? Dunno if I should just get straight filter on vm22/G2 reed kit or keep looking for a 45° for 29in frame. I'd love a 29in full suspension frame with shock mounted in rear, jackshaft kit & some 2.750 wide tires to soak up bumps.
No I haven't any trouble with the filter it still pedals just fine. I just like to use what I already have but if did i have one i probably use 45' air filter
@@engineunknown2 I bought 2 Blackburn 29in tires from Walmart. I just tried to change my front tire & realized the Chinese tire factory literally make the tires too big. It's like 30 inch in diameter instead of 29in and falls off the rim lol....At 1st I thought my rim wasn't wide enough but even if I had a wider rim. They're too big in diameter.....Unreal that the factory could screw up that bad.
I'm not sure what bike you have but maybe Walmart 29ers have slightly bigger rims on their bikes and walmart makes the tires that size just for them I'm guessing. I have always gotten mine from amazon or ebay.
Is the Phantom 85 bike still running? I got one of those and I'm really dissapointed with it's speed. Only 39 mph on a 36t sprocket stock. How did you get yours to 50? I want to do the same
Ya when I got mine it did 39 mph and right after it snap a ring on 3 ride so I cleaned all the ports new piston rings and put a pz19 carb with a g2 reed and jog pipe and it did 50mph and it was good till I decided to go faster it hit 58mph but then melted the piston so I'm thinking about trying the v3 cylinder out
@@engineunknown2 ok thanks for replying. I'm new to this and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth building one? I need it Reliable. Lots of videos about jackshaft kits put never a follow up if it works out or worth it. Thanks for the help.
@brandonwaughtal6391 ya if you won't to have a reliable setup I wouldn't run one there's to much moving parts and the stock bike chain and rear wheel don't like it
I built a sick bike jackshaft bike. No chain tensioners at all. It runs great and works great. I used a Shimano Nexus 7 speed internal rear hub. It shifts great and it’s a lot of fun to ride.
Thanks for the video 😃👍

@@engineunknown2 thanks for reply.... Now I know the straight filter will be OK if I can't find a kit with 45°
@michaelbrinks8089 ya they are hard to find

Yeah I had the same problem with that sprocket also but I did grind down that sprocket like you said you started to do but it works great now
Right on

how did you center the sprocket you put on instead of the beach cruiser one?
All I did was measure the diameter and find center. Then I measured where the bolt holes go
Where's the follow-up video? Did it work out and shift okay? Thanks.
I never had a chance to do a follow-up video, but that kit I had at that time to me it wasn't worth it

Where did you get the kit?
I got it of ebay
Thanks
No problem
Just a heads up... You can use the tensioner out of a clothes dryer.
Ya I have done that before
Bro, you, sell me your jackshaft kit or trade me for a newer version. I need YOURS.
It was invented in the USSR. I'm from Russia
