These were the first proper colouring pencils I bought.
When mine arrived there was 7 broken pencils in the bottom tray. So I emailed them and told them, they asked me which ones so they could replace them. But then they emailed me back and told me they were gonna send me a whole another 120 tin and I could keep the others for spares 😮. I was so shocked and impressed with their customer services and I love the pencils.
I don't know if it's because my ones are quite old, but some of the colour names are different to what they are now. Also there wasn't a swatch chart and leaflets inside like there is now.
Your Grandson sounds like a younger version of me, i think we would get on. I also love Lego and Dinosaurs 😂
First Gemma You are not alone in your struggles there is a world of wonder people who are here to offer support. Secondly thank you Lucy for reminding me I have these beautiful pencils and need to use them more often. I also hope your foot is getting better.

I used Castle Arts when first started coloring. I loved them. I have since moved on to Pablo, and Albert Duer that are higher quality.
Hi Lucy loved your swatching - I’ve been looking at these pencils but they are fairly expensive in Australia so they will have to wait! Hope your foot is feeling better, your holiday sounded such fun but I bet you needed a rest when you got home - LOL - I’ve just got the last lot of Ohuhu Honolulu markers look forward to seeing you swatch and colour with yours anyway my dear look after yourself love ❤️🇦🇺 Chris x
Lucy, you are an absolute gift to us all. I’d imagine most people who adult colour suffer some sort of mental or physical ailment, and you make the activity that much more enjoyable and entertaining. And to all Lucy’s friends, you are all blessings. We are all blessed to have each other in an interest that can serve us so much.
I have the cCastle Arts Good 120 set, I use these alot, think I may invest in the soft touch ones also.

Also, as a recently diagnosed adult on the autism spectrum, it makes my heart so warm to hear how you and your family are doing everything you can to support and love your grandson. Hi Lucy thank you for this lovely video and all your news. Your Grandson sounds adorable. I’m a retired teacher and have worked with many Autistic children over the years. They certainly present challenges but their enthusiasm for what interests them can just blow u away. He’s a very lucky boy to have a Nana like you. I love the Castle Arts original set and have found that they work really well in the Rita Berman books. It’s worth mentioning that Castle Arts often sell their art materials cheaper than Amazon. So it’s worth a look. Take care of yourself Lucy.

Damn-it Lucy! I have the 120 Castle Arts. Now I'm going to buy the RJH latest so that I can join in. I haven't used these pencils in a while. I found them a bit lacking in pigment in Creative Haven books. Let's hope RJ's paper is more receptive to them.
So glad you have a new, comfortable chair. Sitting well is something we tend to overlook, but it's really important. Sorry about your foot. I hope the swelling goes down soon. Yesterday my eye started hurting. It felt like a Sty, but in the wrong place. Today it hurts even more and I have a fluid filled suitcase (too big for a bag) under my eye! So pretty. Red and swollen and sore. There always seems to be something.

These were the first pencils I bought, too, when I entered the world of adult colouring. I think you swatched more than 15 pencils 😉 🫢🤗🤗🤗 (check your heading) When we were moving from Scotland to Birmingham with hubby’s job, we arranged a house hunting weekend with an estate agent. On our way down, we stopped off at the last service station and I managed to fall down the last four steps and broke two toes. I had to tape my toes together for support, so couldn’t get my shoe on. Had to buy a bigger pair of sandals, in November!! and hobble around house hunting!! Not nice, so you have my sympathy 🤗 Congratulations on getting the Ohuhu “gig” 🎉 I would love to join you in a Lost and Found colour-along ✏️ 🖍️ ✏️ 🖍️ 📕
These were my first big set of colored pencils when I first started coloring. I may like a few premium brands better, but I love these for sentimental reasons ❤ They have some beautiful colors and the pencils are so pretty and easy to read.

My first pencils were Castle Art Soft Touch 72 set. I now have the 120 set. I love them. I have other sets of pencils, including Prismas and Polychromas, and while I love my Prismas, I go back to my Castle Arts a lot. I've missed a lot of your videos, Lucy. I have been diagnosed with more chronic issues in addition to fibro and just have not colored for a while. I hope this will change soon. Hope you are well. Missed you!❤

I’m so happy that you had a wonderful holiday and I love hearing about your adventures. Grandchildren are the best I love their honesty and naivety and how excited they get over the smallest thing. My first pencils were castle arts and I still love them, the one downside was the lack of paler pencils which is why they did the pasteltints I guess.
I just bought these! Castle arts was having a nice sale. I already have the Golds and I love them. I hope I'll love these as well.

Oh no - a fall like that is so scary to experience! I’m so sorry to hear you’ve injured your foot, but I’m also glad you weren’t hurt worse. Hopefully, it’s nothing more than bruised. Thanks so much for sharing these swatches with us - I’ve been curious about this set for a while, though I’m trying to stick to only a couple of sets while I learn. Would still love to see you colouring with them in RJ’s newest book. 💜

I am so excited for you on all three levels. These are my favorite pencil to color with the color chart from them is in color order and I do use both it and the numerical system that they come in. I'm so happy for you that you finally got a good new chair you needed and deserved it. And I am so excited for you and slightly jealous lol because the Honolulu B's are the alcohol markers that I want so badly but cannot afford to get. Mainly because I rarely use my alcohol with markers and can't justify the cost. And yes I'm incredibly concerned about your foot because it turns out that I walked around on a broken ankle for a great many years before I shattered it and broke both like bones and found out that I had a bone disorder LOL.

I figured out that you can use the white color pencil from a BUDGET set for various things like this:
1. A barrier to put down on a spot where you don't want too much color, such as the 'future' highlight on a leaf.
2. Blending colors when you want them to get a little bit lighter
3. making streaks in hair or fur or light streaks without actually changing the existing color too much.
In other words, I use it like a blender pencil, but considering the good blender pencils are extremely expensive, I don't like to use that on 'practice' artwork.
Hi Lucy. Hope you feel better soon, I'm 7 weeks suffering vertigo just now and had 2 falls and nausea. Where has it come from I ask?? Glad you had a good holiday despite the weather. These pencils are very bright and jolly and a great range of colours. I use "budget" pencils as I start to learn how to colour while I buy open stock better quality ones ready for when I think I will be good enough. The problem is, I love them all and have so many sets to play with I am sometimes overwhelmed at the choice. Bliss.......😅😅

Are these pencils soft like prismacolor? I can't find anywhere in UK to buy open stock and I have quite a few colours nearly gone. I'm thinking these castles would fit in lovely if they are soft like Prismacolor (i can't use polychromos they are too hard). Thanks hope your foot is better soon.
They are soft but not prisma soft. I don't think they are available open stock sadly 😞 ❤
Which one do you think is better These or Star Joy Coloring Pencils?
