I was introduced to my first dog when I was 4 years old. I met my first dog Poppy in a cardboard box in my back garden. She was only 8 weeks old, tricoloured, short tail, beautiful brown eyes and the nicest natured Jack Russell ever. She was so calm, friendly, sometimes playful, sweet and affectionate. My heart broke when I lost her 7 years later. She was diagnosed with a slipped disc in her back, but, the medication made no difference. She was later diagnosed with a stomach haemorrhage and we were all told, she was going to die. She ended up getting put to sleep. I hated my parents for doing that and I cut myself off from most people. The only person I would really talk to at the time was my girlfriend at the time, my first love.
I love how big dogs espeically are such clumsy, rolly-polly balls of fluff when they're puppies. Just watching that little guy waddle around, I want to scoop him up and hug him!
But then they get a bit bigger, when they’re all long legs and big paws? They get so clumsy, just wiggle and flop around as they run all over the house. That’s pretty cute too, in a destructive sort of way!
I understood him a little, after what his own father did to his dog (putting him to sleep without even telling him) he didn't want his children to suffer the same thing If something happened to the puppy. But unfortunately he acted badly in trying to protect his children.
Although I didn’t adopt it. I remember when I lost my cat, I went to a pet store and looked for which cat I wanted to play with. One of them looked at me and it said, “me-ow”. I thought to myself, play with that one.
I had the same story with American akitas puppies i was with my parents taking them to other city to sign her papers during the ride one of them pups out to us
Born in the USSR/Russia and having watched those movies in the late 80s- 90s made us all believe every american had a big happy family and a huge house with a pool and all. Maybe it was like that indeed, maybe not, I wouldnt know. But I miss the old times and movies of those times, life was so different :) x Hugs to all the 80s born people :)
@@mackenzieneal1660 it was fine. The families been trying to get me get rid of those dogs for years. She said dammit if I’m gonna die by then I’ll die happy Haah
Not really, they were so happy that they got a puppy in the house and they wanted to keep him, they even thought that George was who brought Beethoven in the house, but unfortunately he didn't want a dog in his family's house.
Even though George says that he doesn’t want a dog due to the responsibility and chaos that can come with it (which is true), even though they don’t say it in the film, I believe the main reason he didn’t want a dog was because he didn’t want to go through the pain of losing a dog again.
I mean what kinda child never wanted to be waken up by a puppy is a dream come true for every child and seriously dude a wake up call on a Saturday morning bruh that’s a little harsh✨
Same for me, used to have a VHS copy of the 2nd movie, managed to rent DVD versions of the 3rd to 5th films and even watch the first one when they put it in Netflix at one point
it's a classic sensitive story element, kid finds a non human creature and wants to keep it, i become so sentimental over those tings though i'm not into pets
Everyone is talking about the dog I wanna know what is so damn important on a Saturday morning everyone has to be up at 7am 😂😂 I’ll be up at 9-10am I agree with the kids haha
The Beethoven movies bring me right back to being a child in the 90s. ❤
Best time period.
Me too..I loved the Beethoven movies
That puppy is the greatest thing in the entire universe. Deal with it
Gladly! 😍🥰

There is something so wholesome about the 90s.
The early 90's YES!
How can George say no? The kids are just so happy to have a puppy, and the puppy is so happy to finally have a loving family.
I understood him a little, after what his own father did to his dog (putting him to sleep without even telling him) he didn't want his children to suffer the same thing If something happened to the puppy. But unfortunately he acted badly in trying to protect his children.
I mean did you watch the video, he said yes. Lol
If you ever spent time with a st Bernard you’d understand 😂 they’re sweet but they destroy your house
I miss white culture 😔
as an adult i understand 100 percent
I can't believe Charles Grodin (the dad) was fricking 57 years old in this movie, I genuelly believed he was in his 30s!
he looks good
@@sheismymom I know! That's why I mentioned it.

I think Bonnie hunt said she was in her late 20’s when they filmed this
How you know you found the perfect pet is when the pet finds you.
There's a theory out there that if an animal chooses you, you have a good gentle heart.

One of my favorite movies when I was a kid.
Pup really just waltzed into the house and said, “This is mine now.”
Meaning "this is my family now."
George: "Oh, no it's not!"
Beethoven: "Ah, I see your misunderstanding; you thought I was _asking permission._ Haha! Aw, that's adorable." 😂

I miss being a kid waking up in the 90s with those fluffy comforters
I always wished this had happened to me. A puppy randomly comes into my house, and finds me on my bed
I haven't thought about this movie in years but i used to watch it a lot when i was a kid. Such a 90s vibe! Gotta rewatch now 🥰
LOL I agree
I loved this movie as a kid! Didn't realize how dark it was until I was an adult

The boy from step by step, that is an old sitcom.
It is, and the dog Kris guest starred on the show!

The first "Beethoven" is a wonderful film. There is comedy, adventure, a touch of horror with the sinister doctor Varnik... Never tired of it.
Emilys look on her face is what got them to keep the dog.
