Today, getting what you need is as easy as a trip to the store. From food to clothing, energy, medicine, and so much more, Andy George will discover what it takes to make everything from scratch. His mission is to understand the complex processes of manufacturing that is often taken for granted and do it all himself. Each week he’s traveling the world to bypass the modern supply chain in order to harvest raw materials straight from the source. Along the way, he’s answering the questions you never thought to ask.

Stefan de Jong Ikr! One of the only channels that actually put time and effort into their videos
Tiny Rick yea so dam true
Yeea
So right bro
So much time consumed and still amazing vids
Does this channel actually only have 144k subs? Damn, I've been watching for a while now but I've never noticed. By the feel of the quality content of the videos, I would expect millions of views on each video with millions of subs. The idea behind this channel and the depth of content produced is extraordinary and really answers my questions on how these things are made. Keep up the good work!
Robbie Ibey same. they only have one viral video too
I love what they're doing and have grown to like Andy, but I think his personality/awkwardness is a big part of the reason this channel isn't bigger
People mostly like nonsense videos
No, it's not the awkwardness. Loads of more awkward people with many more views. It's just time and luck. Given enough time, they'll start getting the views. For example, I just stumbled on the channel a week ago, and after seeing one video, I was hooked - so, that needs to happen to a 100k other people.
he will grow soon... remember me
Whoa. I just saw that you guys gained like 50k subs in the last moth or so so i checked your socialblade and holy crap you guys are gaining thousands of subs a day! I so glad to finally see more people start to notice this channel, because it is one of the best types of these channels. I hope you guys get to 1 mil by the end of the year.
Last moth or so so :D
Last moth or so so :D
5:48 I think he just flipped us off on accident

That circular chocolates you ate here in Mexico are meant to be dissolved in water or milk to make a drink, not to eat alone

Great channnel! An innovation on the typical how-to channels.
"yeah, i would pay more than 10 $ for this"
"would you pay 1700$"
had me dying hahahah
Man I remember my first time eating dark chocolate as a little kid, I had the same reaction. What an uncultured little shit I was back then...
I want to try these chocolates so badly. But as an Australian, the airfair to mexico alone would cost me more than $1700, and customs would crucify me if I tried to bring it back
DOH! now I really want to try that chocolate!
that chocolate looks amazing, give E. Wedel dark chocolate a try, its my favorite
2:43 , but this ,this does put a smile on my face

Andy and the chocolate factory lol... oh next time hire some oompa Loompas to help you out xD
You guys should make a community subreddit.
There's an r/DIY subreddit
try the stuff in britian its great
A lot of your videos have the price of how much it cost, but you never really give us a rundown of where those figures come from. So, could you give us an itemized list to see how this cost $1700 to make?
I'm sure the cacao beans weren't that expensive.
You're right, overall the beans themselves weren't that expensive. Our records are a little muddled because it was money withdrawn as cash in pesos, then paid out while we were there, and we usually bought multiple things at once. We kept decent records of expenses, but not the greatest. I believe all the different chocolates we purchased, the raw beans, sugar cane, and a tip for their time was about $50 total.
The rounded totals I used in my estimated cost were:
- Flights to Tapachula, Mexico: $1,200
- Misc Travel Expenses (ground transportation, tips, food, etc): $150
- Mexico Accommodations: $75
- 35 hours of labor @ MN min wage of $8/hour: $280
= Total: $1,705
We traveled as a group and filmed multiple topics in various parts of Mexico, so I tried to total the cost as if it was just me who traveled just to the part of Mexico we made the chocolate in.
Now I understand. Thanks so much for the reply! I love your content and always look forward to more!
What program do you use to edit your videos
Butterfingers are made the same way as croissant dough, then you slice them, and enrob them in chocolate.
Lol "Naturland" at 2:20 - another german food Company xD
I hope the little boy got more chocolate. you know after lunch or supper. 😜
you should try making chocolate icecream, or any other flavor.
Food is art.
Shit is art too.
how to create an itch from scratch?
Do something with vanilla, always wanted to see native vanilla orchids in Mexico!
I actually went to a vanilla farm in Mexico, but they ended up already having been harvested when we got there. We might cut together a video with that footage at some point, but getting vanilla at some point in the future is on my agenda
Fantastic, my favorite flavor!
These guys are the ultra hipsters
The one kid that wanted more was great
A cow in death throes in the back ground at 2:30
The chocolate you ate at the factory was meant to be used for "hot chocolate", which is why it was hard and had those cut-outs. It wasn't made to be eaten like normal chocolate, lol
I think every food video needs to Abe a how did it taste. I looked for one for the whet beer but couldn’t find it I wanted everyone’s opinion on the wheat beer.
you should build a 3d printer from scratch
What % chocolate was it?

Rhys McGoldrick lol! you're right! its probably because of the sleepy, droopy eyes and the triangular shape of his face
Chocolate from México, no more.
how to create itch from scratch
The kids didn't like dark chocolate lol I hate the stuff as well but who knows hand made stuff is probably different
Dark chocolate is FAR superior to milk chocolate!
I don't disagree with you, but there are probably a few people that would want to fight you for this.
The guy that didn't go looks super stoned

"But... I like turtles too" Have you eaten turtles?
xWood4000 turtles are the name of a kind of candy with caramel and nuts and chocolate. The nuts stick out of the caramel and look like the limbs of a turtles.
eat as much chocolate as you can before Trump builds the great wall
Siddhartha Reddy a wall will only prevent illegal immigrants not exports you know you can still travel to Mexico right?
All these Trump supports sound... TRIGGERED.
HOW DARE YOU SPEAK AGAINST OUR NEW KING, HEATHEN.
JacobChunioo Jacob chunis 20% tariff for the wall. At that rate you might as well go to Mexico and smuggle back the beans like this guy did because it will be the same price.
Not if trump insist on putting high tax on imported goods from mexico to pay that stupid wall
Siddhartha Reddy we get chocolate from other countries....
CHALKY MILKK
Oh, man, that poor guy had a chocolate candy better than his previous favorite. He'll likely never have anything else that tastes better, or even as good. It's kind of tragic in a way.
ill pay 50 bucks to try some
why was the audio so bad at the kid part?
Filmed that last minute on a whim on an iphone, had to clean the audio up a bit to be able to hear them.
Thanks for the reply
Too many people have opinions, I know, but I'll offer mine. This video disappoints me because no one tasting the chocolate knows how to describe taste, except the bearded guy at the end a little. This makes the video boring because I'm just watching people eat chocolate and say, "it's good. I don't know how to describe it, but it's good." I love the channel all in all. Good luck.
I'm not sure who is supposed to be the hippie friend
mr griffiths?

I think the reason the kids didn’t like the chocolate is because they are used to milk chocolate only.
At 5:50 he flips the camera off Click on 5:50
What's your MBTI personality type?
Can you guess? I'm INTJ
Hmm, my brother is an Intj. As an infp, I always find it funny how I can see through y'all's fake expressions. Like nodding to people who are speaking Spanish... Haha
I can tell when my brother is on the phone and he fakes laughing, I usually point it out to him. lol
oh i'm also an infp
the kids didn't like the chocolate because from suh a young age everything they eat has been filled with sucrose by companies to get them addicted. They don't know what real food tastes like :/
Most kids aren't fond of dark chocolate, I bet they would've had the same reaction if it were store bought.
Actually, as you grow older, your taste buds develop to make you more tolerant to bitter tastes and less tolerant to sweet ones. This is why most kids aren't fond of dark chocolate or most vegetables, but will gladly eat candy and deserts that adults think are "too sweet."
I have always loved dark chocolate
I have been eating dark chocolate since I was a young kid and I loved it
No wonder why I hate dark chocolate
