I have followed it as far a painting the logo onto the curve, but it only creates a "step & repeat image. How can I limit it to just one logo on the curves surface?
Hello Mike, how would you apply a png-logo image on a tank of a 3D Harley Davidson motor. The png is partly transparent and the tank is very curved in all directions. Where the transparency is from the image, the metallic car paint, which is applied on the tank, should be visable. Hope you have a solution.
I need to do the reverse. I have a 50 gallon drum and I am putting a pipe into it, off-center, and I want to cut the hole precisely... So, once I extrude the pipe cut out of the drum, how do I print a flat representation of the hole, that, when printed, will look a bit like a teardrop shape?
@@mikewinter8719 No. Somewhat the opposite. In Sketchup I create a cylinder (55 gallon barrel). Then I create another 2 inch diameter cylinder which will be a pipe. I turn the pipe 90 degrees because it will go horizontally into a hole drilled through the side wall of the barrel. Simple enough. Here's an image of what I'm describing: pasteboard.co/JuHlUNX.jpg. You showed us how to apply a flat texture to a rounded surface. I have a rounded surface with a hole cut in it that I want to make flat. Then I can print the "hole" and put it on the barrel to make my actual cut.
Walter Johnson I’m afraid I don’t have an easy solution for that in designs terms, but in practical terms it’s as easy as using a hole cutter at the required diameter of the pipe and just drilling the hole, the angle will create itself if you drill at the correct required angle the pipe will insert.
@@mikewinter8719 I thought about doing that, but the hole saw will get difficult to control the more the hole is cut, or so I think. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you so much for this. I have been having problems wrapping images around edges and cylinders. Please keep it up.
using it for a few years and now I want to upgrade and I'm happy I did that.

Walter Johnson I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to achieve? Are we talking about applying a texture?

@@WallyJ2K still trying to do this? Just select both shapes and do right mouse click and intersect. Delete the pipe and there is the hole
Thank you!
