LOOK what showed up at the woodpile today! Think they're gonna multiply Fast!

Since I retired and built my woodshop I have had more time to do the things I really enjoy!! Woodturning of all kinds--especially segmented woodturning--are my favorite. Now that spring has arrived I will be spending more time in the shop making shavings and sawdust! Come along for the journey of a retired beginning woodturner. I'd love to have the company!
In this project I went out to the woodpile and got a few feet of 2" to 4" pieces of maple that have sitting there for quite some time and put it on the lathe just to see if I could make some cute little gnomes. I had bought the faux fur at Joanne Fabrics a few months ago for this project and finally decided to do it! I got a smile out of the wife so I'll continue to make em until that changes. If I knew how easy they were I'd have done a few sooner. It never ceases to amaze me what I find inside a piece of wood.
