It's time we had a podcast episode where the boys interview Cider and how his character, which started out as a one-off gag because no other race was available, turned him into an overnight sensation with his Mad Because Small video that snowballed from there.

PSA: You can play that Podracer game on Switch. I don't know why they ported it, but they did.

That moment when you realize Garret hasn't seen many Japanese websites lol the FFXIV site is tame in comparison 🤣

The US south is one of the few places on the planet that is actively being reforested, and the timber companies have got loblolly pine genetics down to a straight up art form.
The Lodestone is absolutely Japanese website aesthetic. At least it's better than Playonline was for FFXI.

As someone who got an ishgard house on the first try with my FC bud that bit in the video had me cackling.

9:45 --- What do you mean, ret-con? It was always obvious, that Livia was in love with Gaius, while he... well, we never really got his perspective but he certainly cared for her from what we know (not to mention his "my room, in one hour"-comment to her in one of the ARR cutscenes...). No ret-con there as far as I can see...?

13:57 Ishgard restoration isn’t too hard if you know about collectibles.
You get the grade X (currently 4) material from the diadem which is accessible inside the restoration to the NW of the entrance.
Grab what you need and turn it in in stacks of 5 to be able to use it (or buy/sell it) from there use it to make craters specific collectibles.
For collectibles you need to get a minimum of the dark blue bar to get any rewards but the higher colors offer better rewards. It’s not worth going 3/4th off the yellow bar when you’re at 1/4 of the yellow as that gives the same reward amount.
Some crafts will need material from outside the restoration but that’s generally at the level 40 and 60 crafts. Lvl 80 craft’s are not worth it unless you like gambling on the Kupo tickets

Lvl 80 crafts are also worth it because they give you the most Skybuilder's Scrips so you can buy that one emote that lets you lean back a little and probably some other stuff

I never really saw anything wrong with the website, although maybe that's just because I have been using internet browsers since 2000

the website is a result of Japanese website design

  • @Midare13

As a designer, I fully agreed with Garrett there and I can tell you, japanese web design it's a pain to see. They are legitimately stuck in the late 90s/early 2000's design and they refuse to move forward. Since it worked back then, so I guess they don't see the need to change.
Also, Cider Spider is great, I think the best part is to have the deep voice paired with a fem lala with thick eyebrows emoting.

To be fair, Square Enix & PC User Experience have never really gone hand-in-hand... look at the PC ports of many of their games, even their web sites suck!
