Light Rampant is this mechanic where the party would get Lightsteeped debuffs when they got hit with a mechanic and would explode when you got to 5 stacks, so you had to resolve the incoming attacks without having anyone hit that limit The thing about this mechanic is that if you failed any of the tether mechanics, your Lightsteeped would instantly explode and any explosions will also cause your other party members’ debuff to explode, so it was a complete nightmare to prog because you would never have any idea who is doing what wrong

The casuals in your chat are actually extremely toxic, they don't realise they're making the game worse for themselves with their baseless, uneducated and uncaring points of view. They think what Rinon says is "against" them, but any change proposed wouldn't affect these low effort, low value players who can't even play these BASIC jobs at a BASE LINE level.

Just in case no one explained Light Rampant, short summary: Light Rampant is a sequence of mechanics that are semi-randomly assigned to different players and need to be soaked to resolve (like towers and baited AOEs). Each time you soak a mechanic, you get a stack of Lightsteeped. If one person gets 5 stacks of Lightsteeped, they explode and kill everyone. To make things more complicated, some players get tethered to each other. Certain tethers will explode if you're too far apart, while other tethers will explode if you're too close together. So your team needs a careful plan to resolve everything without an individual getting over 4 stacks, and you need to quickly figure out your semi-random role in that plan with each pull.

E8S is a mini ultimate disguised as a savage

E8S was my first on-content Savage fight when I started four years ago. I can’t begin to tell you the flood of emotions that escaped me when I saw that Achievement pop up. I was screaming, crying, and almost throwing up from my nerves haha. Especially since it was cleared ***MERE HOURS*** before 5.4 maintenance started.

The first time I cleared E8S I was main tank and calling the entire fight for the pf group I was with because they had been struggling with remembering the mechanics and I offered to call out the mechs for them since I had memorized the entire thing with my previous static that had given up on the fight and I was just so done with pf disbanding every other pull. We had agonizingly struggled through the entire thing and just began hitting the enrage mech as.. my internet went out. I was so pissed that my clear was going to be stolen from me and I had to fight the router and restart my PC- but to my surprise, the entire group was waiting on me well past the DC loot lockout and they allowed me to claim the mount despite none of them having cleared before that point because they appreciated the many lockouts of raid conducting and callouts I had done for solely their benefit..

The issue with LR was failure was blinding and made it difficult to see what went wrong, LR in ultimate seems to not have this issue. Won't stop people complaining about it though. Also a streamer accidentally popularised a prog strat what was already outdated in week 1, PF latched onto it as "the" strat.

The most triggering about Light Rampant is the sound of chains exploding. I do not miss it. 😂

MY ptsd for LR came from having a healer in my static that was in the EU while the rest of us were NA; and even though he did it correctly, the ping difference was enough to cause us to wipe over and over, all because he was far away from servers.

I took dance classes for several years growing up; I *hate* tap dancing. Not for any aesthetic reason. Because of the taps on the heel we had to walk on our toes to minimize excess noise. My feet always ached with relief when I could switch from those incredibly hard shoes for the softer ballet or jazz shoes.

My static was so proud we cleared Light Rampant the first time we clipped it BY ITSELF as a "Light Rampant clear" and posted it.

Burning Souls (Song name) may be my favorite of the four in terms of music. Grew up listening to a lot of Instrumental Rock and later Polyphia.

When it was mentioned that Wicked Thunder used the soul of a "levin steed", my first thought went to Odin. Was her feral soul Alexandria's version of Odin? Or was I thinking Ramuh? I might have been conflating the two, like the WoL did for the Eden Ramuh fight.

I wish his Savage Doping 2 combo was in normal mode, that whole combo is so funny and would love to see peoples reaction to it who don't do savage.

The more I watch this, the more I realise this guy seems to just be raid-brained and completely disengaged from the casual player experience. He's been savage/ultimate raiding since Heavensward. The vast majority of players are on a different level to him, and that isn't a bad thing.

To answer your question, yes, the things Metem says during the fight reflect what's happening - eg if you res someone, if someone falls out of the arena, if someone uses an LB - he will say a specific line for each thing

Honey B Lovely's theme is my new favorite song, it's such a great song to get into a good mood. The developers did an awesome job with this raid tier, be it visuals, humor, mechanics, voice acting and sound. Not to mention the interactive announcer.

Was this the cliff Garrett expected the Seat of Sacrifice theme to go off?
