Yes my mom grew some AMAZING Orchids this year. Water like once a month and they have to be planted in soil like that so it drains very well. Good luck. When they start to grow, pin them up to a skewer because the branch gets very heavy when the flowers grow. They stay bloomed for like 2 months. It's awesome, but she keeps them in her kitchen window so they stay at a regular temperature and get both sunlight and darkness. I'd keep them inside by a window. Good luck with it.
Im sure is doesnt work. The roots are basically skinned so you don’t have any roots. Also I wouldn’t put it in old mulch or soil. Sphagnum moss and bark is good 😊
Orchid in soil !! In a pot !!? Ahh Maybe you can use a coconut fibre shell and add a lil soil and just attached it to a tree branch ah that's how orchid grows ...
You need to throw that away. You stripped the roots. The roots are smoothed by that soil. The pot has no air flow. You should change your orchid bark when you do a repot after it's had so much root rot in it. Just get another, a proper orchid pot, a bag of orchid mix, and orchid food. They aren't difficult, they're just different.

How bout some cuttings? Not necessarily "saving" but it technically is still the same plant you had
If you keep it in a chunky bark mix it should eventually regrow better roots
You have 2 possibilities: you put your orchid on top of water but not let it touch the plant at all (évaporation will help it)
Or you just wash well with soap thé transparent pot (because phalaenopsis roots photosynthetise) with fresh dry bark and you let it alone for a couple weeks or more then you slowly water it again. An orchid like bright sun (but not sunburns si be carefull) and it's better if it's thirsty than overwatering.
If it's recent rootrot spray some sulfure fongicide
@@jyvaineorchids2255 Thank you so much! Will do that :)))
In my province all orchids are berry green because the weather there is balance it's more green when it's in dark place.but do not plant orchids in soit It can't be alive just plant it in a pot full of moss mixed with blended wood or just simply plant it in alive tree
so glad I read the section because people know what they're talking about. I got to replant my orchard and will put it in some water with no potting soil
That's dead af just bin it
She should have stuck that poor orchid in a glass with water at the bottom. It just may have sprouted new roots from the neck eventually.
Me and my dad who grew them in coconut husks: *taking notes*
read the comments first
Omg 🤣🤣🤣 this right here is too funny! I don't know why the sheep people get me but they do🤣 and don't forget to never water it, that's how you get it to bloom foreverrrr 🤣🤣🤣 believe that one
You NEVER use soil and you should NEVER RIP the dead off an orchid. You should use sterilized cutter and trim the dead off. This orchid should of been place in water for a while
RIP my orchid !
Best bet its immediately ditch the bark for expanded clay balls. Single best insurance move.
Let me guess, a squirrel ate it
Well, did it revive?
Orchids grow much better in transparent containers :) Try it!
Watch Miss Orchid Girl for a few hours.
Very unlikely that orchid will show any new growth, you can save a lot of orchids, but unfortunately not this one.
As everyone else has said: no soil ever, with most orchids: bark, seramis, sphagnum moss, even toilet tissue with plenty of drainage or a sponge is better than soil. Also a cloche (could be a plastic translucent bottle) to keep in humidity will help a dying orchid.
M.O.G. Come help DX
I did something similar, but mine did have some alive looking roots. And I currently keep it in a jar with water and it started growing new roots. Not sure after how much time I can plant it back in the bark.
I wouldn't leave it in water for very long. I would say it's time to take it out and plant it in the bark.
Girl I love your videos but this is torture;-; I don’t even own an orchid but I’ve searched up how to care for them lol
The soil will rot it worse. Needed some hdrgen peroxide solution spray and a holed pot with bark moss or red rock. I'm interested to see it it survives
You pulled off some of the good roots. They don’t all have to be green for orchids do some damn research
chill it’s just a plant and it’s not even yours 💀
That's an epiphytic type of orchid that grows on trees not a ground orchid so they don't need soil at all
Here for all the orchid care... cause... we have... five different orchids.
Well? What's the update. Did it work?
It definitely didn’t work…..trust me
Orchid neads bark and a glas pot to grow and sun, and not often whater 🙏🤗❤️😍🌹🍀
Yes my mom grew some AMAZING Orchids this year. Water like once a month and they have to be planted in soil like that so it drains very well. Good luck. When they start to grow, pin them up to a skewer because the branch gets very heavy when the flowers grow. They stay bloomed for like 2 months. It's awesome, but she keeps them in her kitchen window so they stay at a regular temperature and get both sunlight and darkness.
I'd keep them inside by a window. Good luck with it.
i need an update on this
Im sure is doesnt work. The roots are basically skinned so you don’t have any roots. Also I wouldn’t put it in old mulch or soil. Sphagnum moss and bark is good 😊
Orchid in soil !! In a pot !!?
Ahh
Maybe you can use a coconut fibre shell and add a lil soil and just attached it to a tree branch ah that's how orchid grows ...
Thanks for sharing... Great 👍👍👍👍😃
I have 32 pots of orchids...that is dead!!! Let it go 😂
There was zip zero life in that, what green was seen was just that of moldy slimy green roots ... but, at least she tried !! :)
If you remove the outer layer of the root, the root won't absorb water. All the roots are bad
Did it work?
You pulled off some living parts… and stripped some roots that weren’t rotten. I cut the rotten roots and replant in moss and do an overnight soak in the moss.
You tickle my orchid, turned it blue 🎵
It really should go into a wet box where the humidity is kept very high with good light on sphagnum
Did it survive?
You should grow vanilla orchids
Well did it grow?
No wonder it rotted. Don't use soil. Put that baby in a pot specifically for orchids so it gets enough air circulation too
