Tammy Goulet Schrader His character was phenomenal. When they opened Otis’ shirt in the ambo & Cruz fell backwards, I said uh-oh. His burns looked like he was going to be the firefighter down. And Cruz at the dedication.............😥😥😥
@@janeryan2709 Yeah it was on the news here. This was like a year or so ago. it was cool though. The actor had fun with it and the fire fighters did too
Eamonn Walker played the role of Chief Boden so well. It's incredibly difficult to accept that he's just an actor and not actually a battalion chief at a fire station. The man suits the role so damn well, it comes across so naturally.
Брат, я буду с тобой всегда (Russian - romanized Brat, ya budu s toboy vsegda); in Ukrainian: Брат, я буду завжди з тобою (romanized: Brat, ya budu zavzhdy z toboyu) no more powerful words ever...especially when spoken among "brothers" - militar, first responders, police and firefighter....Otis' character should have been Ukrainian the guys from the house in the Ukrainian village should have come and brought a patch from the fire company in Chernobyl Oblast that was worn by the firefighters who ran into Reactor 7...then they all shake hands and say to each other Brat, ya budu zavzhdy z toboyu!....
I think the reason why its so deeply emotional is because it's basis is in reality. Firefighters are actually fighting against death and sometimes they really do die. We also know that there is an assumption that there is a camaraderie between firefighters that serves to keep them safe. A bond of brothers and sister in arms.
Bella Rayne Right? You just unexpectedly gave me another reason on why I love the shows of Chicago Med and Fire and P.D. so damn very much. Part of what you said is so true, that a lot of doctors and nurses and paramedics and firefighters and cops, are doing all they can to keep us safe and protected, especially right now with the pandemic of the coronavirus among all of us all over the country and the rest of the world, dealing with this pandemic as well, and I cannot imagine anyone losing a doctor or a nurse or a paramedic or a firefighter or a cop, because that particular doctor nurse paramedic firefighter or police officer, could either be at a family member or a friend, like a best friend or a close friend or a really good friend or a family friend, that any of them could probably know that they could die doing their jobs to keep everybody else safe, especially during this hard and tough time with the pandemic of the coronavirus all over the United States and the rest of the world, that even though this show is based here in America, Boden makes a really good point, by asking all of his fellow paramedics and firefighters, a very important and very powerful question, and that very particular and very specific question is, who will remember all that he and his firefighters have done for Chicago, once they are gone? I also think that question applies to, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, doctors, nurses, and cops, that I think a lot of them ask themselves that question at one point or another, who will remember their work, after they are gone, meaning like, who will remember all that they have done to save other peoples lives, and catch criminals and put the criminals behind bars like in jail, like serving their communities, and make sure everybody around them is safe and protected, after they either quit or retire, or unfortunately die, while trying to do their jobs, seriously, who is going to remember what either he or she has or will have done to keep people and communities safe? Now I realize that this question doesn’t just apply, to any paramedic or doctor or nurse or firefighter or cop, I think it applies to anyone, who might begin to ask themselves this question at one moment or another, as I think that we all ask ourselves that question every day. I mean, whatever happens next, what do you think about this question that we may begin to ask ourselves at one moment or another?
Chief Boden just has a way of bringing everyone together no matter how happy or sad. I love how he brought up the rear and closed the circle. Outstanding acting across the board. Wolf and his friends love killing off your favorite characters across all three Chicago shows.
I gave 23 years of my life to the fire service I went from recruit to Chief, God blessed me To be a firefighter for life, I worked hard to leave and make this world a better place, it is such an honor for me to relive 23 years of my life thru this tv show I have shed more tears in the little time I have watched this show than I have all of my life total! This tv show means a lot to my brothers and sisters of the fire service as the people we protect get a look inside our lives! May God bless you all!
JB0071051982 Actually the entire episode. His emotional reaction in the ambo when Otis’ shirt was removed & we saw his burns. It’s a wonder he didn’t have a heart attack. It was a absolute gut wrenching scene.
Cruz’s scenes were heartbreaking the actor that plays him deserves recognition because I had to pause & give myself a min it was like I was really mourning along with him. The show won’t be the same without Otis him & Cruz’s dynamic made it light hearted & fun ❤️
He dies when he in the fire and the pin pops and it doesn’t show the explosion. It was the last episode and now the new episode shows him gone and he will be forever loved
Those were Brian's last words, and they mean, "brother I will be with you always" I can't think of a better way to remember Brian, so from this day forward, this memorial site is sacred ground
As soon as I heard Otis's heartbeat go flat, I was in tears for the rest of the episode.. I loved him, and to have him die broke me, and as said from Benny Severide's funeral, may he rest in peace with his brothers, and sisters, above... 😭
eevee in a teacup So true and I could not stop crying for the rest either. Otis MAY U REST IN PEACE AND WATCH OVER THE FIRE HOUSE. U Will Never ever be forgotten. RIP Otis 💯❤️😭
catracha V. She got hurt, three months later she gets the same job she a did have at Firehouse 51 at a different Fire Station. Otis is gone. New replacement shows up turns out that he is a model. She runs into an old college friend. A monument is placed out of the Fire House in horror of Otis.
This has been the most emotional episode in my opinion. It hits hard for all of those who have lost a loved one in a line of duty death. I truly believe that you all did a great job portraying this.
Besides Joe,can we also appreciate the utterly amazing acting of Eamonn Walker...the perfect "he has to be tough for his men, but he wants to let it all out" speech..perfection
Otis' last words in Russian were very deep and conveyed the love he had for his brother firefighters. That scene had me tearing up the moment you saw the life go out of his eyes and the EKG monitor flat lining. That was just too much! Loved their performance, Joe Minoso and Yuri Sardarov in the season opener. Both actors are truly amazing as are the rest of the cast.
I didn't know any real firefighters until I started to work these shows. They really put themselves out there to help and protect others. They are truly heroes. Thank your dad for his service!
Honestly, I'm not the one who cries over fictional characters in movies/tv shows, but this really got me. It was such an emotional episode. At 1:55 I cried like a baby 😥😥
I've never watched an episode of this show but have watched so many clips and videos i feel like I've seen most episodes. But man the emotions i get from most of them, honestly speechless
I am crying my eyes out. Not only because of this show but i remember 9/11, all heroes who died and all other firefighters that have passed on for doing their service to the community. I can not in any way even begin to say thank you. We love you now and always!!!
Just saw this episode for the first time. I would definitely say this is the saddest episode in Chicago Fire. I mean, Otis was one of my favorite characters in the show, and this scene made me cry just as much as I did when they showed Shay's Memorial in Season 3.
Completely destroyed by this episode. How does Chicago Fire keep getting better and better? Jesse Spencer, Joe Minoso and Eamonn Walker were incredible tonight. 🔥💔😥

I agree, Otis was an easy character to route for. The episode Two Families was the first episode that I saw of Chicago Fire(at the time it premiered, I was a college senior so tv watching during the week was a rare thing). I really enjoyed Otis recording interviews for the podcast, especially him saying what he was thankful for at the end. Co-creator Derek Hass even said that writing the death of Otis was pretty tough, since he and actor Yuri Sardarov( Otis) had worked on a movie together years earlier. However, he felt it was time to re-enforce just how dangerous being a firefighter is and hence someone had to die.
Literally in the past month I have lost two of my beautiful foster puppies and my 9 year old dog is not doing well, and I haven’t been able to cry since finding out about them and this actually made me cry.
You feel for Cruz him and Otis had an unbreakable bond of friendship and it kills me to see Joe Cruz In so much pain about the loss of Otis but at same time you put your life on the line for others and unfortunately we can’t predict what will happen to any of our first responders when they show up to an emergency and it’s a reminder of why it is important that we need to be thankful to the men and women firefighters, police officers, paramedics and military veterans do what they do to serve and protect all of us every single day
This episode completely devastated me. Otis dying and Brett getting injured. The why she said his name when they carried him out of the building, had me bawling. This scene was everything as well. R.I.P. Otis. We will miss you brother.
I know this is a tv show, but as a fellow firefighter my self, i know the pain they are surffering as i lost my best friend who i grew up with in a factory fire 2 years ago. We were both firefighters and doing search and rescue when a flash over occured and he just stopped breathing and was never revived, he ended up dieing in my arms, it was the hardest thing i have ever gone through in my life. The pain never dissapears fully but that little bit of pain that i still suffer i know is the memories that we made and the things i will cherish about for the rest of my life.
@@lachlanschulz4675 It's alright! I hope not all the memories that have been triggered were bad or painful. I'm sure the series had some moments of joy for you! :)
I don't have enough words to thank the production. Chicago Fire is a wonderful series. Powerful dialogues and very real stories. I am very sorry for Otis but this is the life of the firemen. You risk, you survive and you die. Thanks NBC, thank you authors! This series deserves some awards.
That Escalated obviously I don’t like it 😂 I don’t like character immunity especially when it’s based solely on looks and popularity. Casey isn’t all that interesting of a character and Severide being a little eye candy isn’t what makes the show . It’s always the truck guys that have to be the ones who are up on the chopping block. The paramedics have changed so much there’s no longer an original ... let that sink in .
That end moment right in the aerial shot & we see them kneeling in prayer and support, that is what all first responders could be considered, a family. They lost a brother but they will never forget him
I never watched this show. I just started binge watching. I've never watched a show where on minute you're laughing hysterically and minutes later you're bawling like a baby. Excellent television!

Otis by far was my favorite character on the show just because he had the most heart of any person on that show and plus he was really funny
This series has been emotional and has led me to think about friendship and unity at work.
“This memorial site is sacred ground” oh brother I will be with u always rip to Brian “Otis” Zyvoncheck ❤❤❤
Oooh! I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm sure it was hard as hell to watch this episode. Prayers and love to your late best friend and to you! 💙🕊
Salma Al-Husami thanks man and it was very hard to watch and not have the memories of what happened
Your welcome! Of course, such a scene will trigger the memories.
P.S: I'm a woman.
Salma Al-Husami sorry didn’t realise my bad and yeah many Chicago scenes have triggered memories of calls I have been on

It's alright!
I hope not all the memories that have been triggered were bad or painful. I'm sure the series had some moments of joy for you! :)
I'm not crying, you are 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I loved otis, him and cruze were such a good double act
I was crying at this part
I love how the Chief always takes care of his family!
I don't have enough words to thank the production. Chicago Fire is a wonderful series. Powerful dialogues and very real stories. I am very sorry for Otis but this is the life of the firemen. You risk, you survive and you die. Thanks NBC, thank you authors! This series deserves some awards.
My grandad died just over a year ago. This really reminded me of him because my grandad was alot like otis. I cry every time i watch this.
Such an incredible honor Cruz naming his and Chloe's son after his best friend.
Chicago Fire really knows how to make a man cry......like I've said before, its all about the brotherhood.
This is slowly turning into Greys and Casey and Severide are Meredith and Alex... untouchable
Joy Mechell and what’s wrong with that? LOL
Naturally! Jesse and Taylor are the show leads
Agreed
That Escalated obviously I don’t like it 😂 I don’t like character immunity especially when it’s based solely on looks and popularity. Casey isn’t all that interesting of a character and Severide being a little eye candy isn’t what makes the show . It’s always the truck guys that have to be the ones who are up on the chopping block. The paramedics have changed so much there’s no longer an original ... let that sink in .
Joy Mechell this comment did not age well😂
That end moment right in the aerial shot & we see them kneeling in prayer and support, that is what all first responders could be considered, a family. They lost a brother but they will never forget him
God after so long this scene still gets to me!!!! MISSS YOU OTIS!!!
I never watched this show. I just started binge watching. I've never watched a show where on minute you're laughing hysterically and minutes later you're bawling like a baby. Excellent television!
I will miss Ottis, he was a great character in the series. So sad I cried.
We will all miss Ottis
New fan of the show, so I didn't watch it original, but Everytime i watch this scene on RUclips I tear up.
