@Zizo629 Do you think they were not so great in the past? At one time, I think some of the low dollar items weren't that great. Same! So glad I’m not the only one. I always wondered why they didn’t work for me when everyone else loved them. You’re right, my eyelids are the coolest part of my skin tone.
Tbh I’m saving up to haul some of the Moira Starshow shadows and other Moira products. But I think it’s awesome that an affordable brand has so much nerve lol it activates my anarchy in the best way. 😂
Omg I didn’t see that these came out. I saw 10 mins of your video and ran to the elf website and ordered 2. The urban decay ones were always a lil out of my budget but I’ve been eyeing that new quad that came out. I’m so excited to try these. I bought the space cowboy dupe and the second darkest one. The darkest one was sold out. Thank you for reviewing these so fast. I trust your opinion so much❤
I’m in Australia so I’m looking forward to these launching here sometime mid next year at twice the price 😂. But seriously they look gorgeous, I never actually bought any of the UD ones although I’ve eyed them off for years. Might pick up a couple of these.
You’re the one that first turned me onto the UD moon dust shadows, especially Space Cowboy. I love applying it over the Armani liquid shadow in 22M. That combo is a holy grail for me.
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. I found UD moondust dupes but they're Chinese knockoffs with no/suspicious brand websites (mostly seen on Amazon or Temu). I have to admit, even as a half-Chinese I can't help but be a bit scared of how much mercury or lead I'm applying on my eyelids ☠️ all for the sake of ✨sparkles✨😂 I'm def switching to these!
I’m actually excited to try the elf dupe to Space cowboy, I have fair cool skin so on me it looks orange on my lids and I always hated tht look on me, so the elf one not having as much of a base excites me! Thank you for being so informative!
Thank you for reviewing these, I had not heard of them! Big Elf fan over the years and that grungy green in filthy rich is perfect for my dark brown eyes! Cheers!
My Moondust shadows don’t feel creamy at all, they also haven’t gotten that sheen you were showing in the pan. Mine are super dry and most of them hard pan. I wonder if they have some consistencies of batches
@@AmandaZ all of them! They feel slightly different per shade. So Space Cowboy and Solstice feels very hard pressed and hard pan, while Cosmic just feels dry but doesn’t hard pan.

I like the elf shades better. I don’t like dark bronzed/taupe shades in a glitter, they don’t stand out on my skin and the light ones compliment me better so it’s a win/win.
this is such a thorough and lovely review! i've been thinking of buying solstice but the pricepoint makes my wallet ache! but looking at the dupes, although beautiful I think I might still go for the UD since it does more of what i am looking for
Are you getting the new moondust palette from Sephora? I saw that the space cowboy shades are different and I’d love to see the difference on the eyelids 🩵
Thanks for the review, Amanda! Very detailed and informative. Have you tried Rituel de Fille Apis? I’ve been looking for a review for that one. It looks so wet and glossy in the pictures.
It is funny, when I ordered the new ELF shadows I automatically eliminated the gold one so when you said it was a throw away I patted n myself on the shoulder. Great video thank you.
I am bummed out. I ordered ColorPop "Ritz" which you described as a dupe for "Space Cowboy". It had horrible fallout that was almost impossible to get rid of (used Micellar Water, moisturizer on a cotton pad, etc.) I don't get too upset about fallout unless I can't get it off. Does the original Space Cowboy have tons of fallout too?
Ironically after seeking a dupe for UD Lithium (wasn’t clear to me which of the Moira shadows might be one and not willing to pull the trigger on a new to me brand for one shadow) for a while, I just bought Lithium when Ulta put it on a half price sale last month. Ulta seems to have removed just Lithium from their site but there were a few left in store. I never would have paid $24 for one shadow but happy to have go it for $12. Still good to know that Elf now has dupes for the other colors which I’m less interested in but may try if I’m curious for $6 as I don’t see using the other colors as often just because of personal preference. Thanks for the review. I think I started my hunt for Lithium to begin with based on one of your one and done video recommendations. I like darker shadows and I’m enjoying it so far for those quick out the door type of days.
I can't tell if the Space Cowboy dupe isn't meeting expectations because of the lack of base or is the glitter more vibrant? Would adding a deeper base to the ELF colors more accurately represent the dupe? Could you test that?

I got a couple recently. And honestly absolutely fine, I'm familiar with moondust and once on the eye, noone knows. I love the packaging but i think they're break. Also powder eyeshadow, you can change the base
I have space cowboy and lithium and I’ve been so disappointed with SC, because of the “beige” undertone to it, it looks straight up orange/peach on my light neutral olive skin. It makes me look kind of sick unfortunately and I have to wear it overtop a cool brown to make it look right on me. That all being said, the elf one not having that same tone to it might be a lot better on me!
They look very interesting and a good option at a lower price! I've been binge watching your content about one and done and wet eyshadows and I'm curious: have you tried any jones road shadows? 😊
Believe it or not, I still have my Urban Decay Moondust palette and it works as well as the day I bought it!!! I also still have a few in the round packaging as well from forever ago! They never went bad so I've kept 'em...
All I want is elf to put out powder highlighters. They had those baked highlighters & they kinda flopped cause of hard pan, but I want a highlighter from them so bad!!! Not a liquid just a powder tho
So excited for these! What shade is the last swatch on your arm (closest to your elbow)? I know you said that Elf came out with five shades, but I think there’s six on your arm 😊.

When I’ve tested it in store, I had the same issue. It looked like an orange shadow with sparse silver glitter. I wonder if you need to dig into that top layer to “break the seal” like you sometimes do with other formulas?
I personally found ritz from colourpop to have larger glitter particles and show up more silvery than space cowboy, but my skin is a little darker than yours so that might be a factor
I have had my Urban Decay moondust shadows in Space Cowboy & Lithium for 2 years. I haven’t even made a dent in either shade. I tend to gravitate towards Lithium these days.
This makes me want to try it more. I got White Hot the other day and it was beautiful and i was hesitating on champagne shower. I tried space cowboy but the problem is that the base pigment is too dark for my skin? So maybe itll be better for me!
Would you recommend these or the sephora collection colorful eyeshadows? I have watched both videos of yours but can’t make up my mind on which I should buy 🥹
What UD shade would you have picked for them to dupe instead of elf making that gold shade? I'd love to know what shade you think elf should come out with if they expand this shade range!
Wet n wild had the eyeshadow like solstice in that palette "comfort zone" but i have the original version still (i know..its really old) but the newer one isnt as nice.
Love that you mentioned that it doesn't need to be an exact dupe to be its own special thing! ❤

I LOVE ❤️ that 15%
Nothing beats Space Cowboy! But the dupes are pretty good.
agreed!!
Thanks, I love this video, I have the same model from *suluxy*
Clicked so fast 😅
Would you recommend these or the sephora collection colorful eyeshadows? I have watched both videos of yours but can’t make up my mind on which I should buy 🥹
Would you suggest wearing these with glitter glue or primer to increase wear time or prevent creasing?
very helpful video. thanks
Can u recommend a closer dupe for space cowboy and also sth for with deep base paigment for deeper skin tone?
beauty 😻💖
What UD shade would you have picked for them to dupe instead of elf making that gold shade? I'd love to know what shade you think elf should come out with if they expand this shade range!
The UD Moon Dust shadows almost feel like a dry oil, when you swipe your finger over them. Do the E.L.F. shadows not have that feeling?
Can you recommend a solstice dupe/alternative?
Great video. Thank you!
I wouldn’t complain Even if your channel was 100% dedicated to wet eyeshadows 😅😊our eyeshadow preferences are very similar!
Wet n wild had the eyeshadow like solstice in that palette "comfort zone" but i have the original version still (i know..its really old) but the newer one isnt as nice.
Loved this vid ❤ Does Elf have much fallout? Xx
Theyre about the same, some fall out but not crazy
@@AmandaZ thank you ❤️
Hi Amanda, thanks for the video!
Can I ask, in you opinion, how does Champagne Dreams compare with the shade Sheen from Natasha Denona I Need A Nude?
