Really enjoyed your couple of videos that I’ve watched now and your explanation is very good I was wondering if you knew much about Honda GX engines as I’m forever having problems with them in generators and pumps and wondered if you could do an explanation of what the common faults would be on those if that’s in your realms of expertise? Many thanks
I find it interesting that many people begin to search problems on really odd places after storage and running issues. Like in spring I've heard many searching problems from spark plug first. I mean if the machine was running fine before storing, the root cause is pretty much always bad fuel and especially oxidation caused by that and then ie. diaphragm gone bad or carburetor sealing gone bad at some location. Use common sense in fault finding. That spark plug is almost guaranteed to work after storage. Heck just last summer I revived B&S garden engine that had been outdoors winters and summers for last five years. Repaired throttle cable and grounding for engine kill. Plus fixed the broken starter cord reel spring. Cleaned fuel tank and cleaned carburetor with ultrasonic cleaner and blew old filter with compressor. It started fairly well with additional fuel given, even though diaphragm wasn't the best I've seen. Spark plug was just fine still after so long storage. Ok, I think I removed the plug and give it bit sand paper, but anyway didn't replace it.
I have Brig's and Stratton and it's working 15 minutes and turns off. I take Spark plug and it's black. Than clean it up and it's fire's again normally. What is the problem? Thanks
