I was glad to have found this. I had the replacement in about 3/4 of the way then tapped on the ring with a screw driver a bit before deciding to find some advice before I broke it. Pressing it in slowly one side at a time worked just as you said , thank you.

I wanted to add a little more to my thank you. :) You showed us how straightforward this fix is - hard to believe! :) It is the end of our mowing season, but I was inspired to look online and put the primer bulb in with the other stuff to buy.
BUT - HERE IS THE WARNING & ANOTHER THANK YOU!!!
I got out my flashlight and crawled around the mower in the storage shed and saw that my bulb had a nipple with a hole which was different than the one I was going to buy! And I could clearly see that the bulb was cracked. And wiping away some old grass I could clearly see how I can get to the base clips to release the old one (which I will do in the Spring when I get the mower out).
Of course I am not going to needlessly take off the whole carburetor (since I am not filming for youtube 😂). But you really CLEARLY showed us how this job is done.
Of course I went right upstairs to the computer and selected the correct nippled bulb on my to buy list. 😊
    Thank you again.

Thank you so much. My 22 year old Murray push mower is back in form after purchasing a $3.50 replacement primer bulb. The Briggs and stratton engine has been outstandingly reliable.

Just exactly what I needed, thank you! (Unfortunately had to buy 2-pk (one with hole, one without) for $10.69 (Home Depot), and could've paid less online, but just wanted the job done and the mowing, and done it is! Much appreciated.

*Thank You* so much for this video. The primer bulb is less than 4 years old and the damn thing takes between 30 and 40 seconds after pressing it in before it resets for press number two and the same for press number 3. That red crap they use for the bulb is a pain. The primer bulb on my Ryobi line trimmer is older and is still like it was when new.
*Thanks* again. Greatly appreciate this. 👍

I'm shocked because of 2 things...#1 it took 24 years for the B&S motor's primer bulb to finally fail on my weedeater 22 inch push mower and...#2 with your help my new primer bulb that only cost a couple of dollars was replaced in less than 5 minutes!
I saw no need to buy a second primer bulb to replace this one when it goes out because at 66 the odds are that I won't be around in 25 years...Thanks again and Happy Trails!

Thanks for the Video.... I had no idea how to get that thing apart...And as it turned out one side was glued in from the paint, so I surely would have screwed up the Carburetor even with the right tools. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You....

Why some primer bulbs have hole and some not? In your video the starting picture shows one with a hole but the one you replaced has not hole. I just don’t understand how a bulb with hole can work

My old B &Q mower suddenly stopped. It restarted but stopped after a few seconds. I thought it must be a blocked jet so took them out and cleaned with WD 40 and all ok. Re assembled and still the same. I then unscrewed the primer bulb from the carb and it starts and runs on. Replaced the bulb with one off another mower and it dies. So it will only run with the primer bulb off. Any clues? I can blow through the jet into the carb and it seems clear.

A real good video . I discovered this channel and have used the info several times of late . Just a small question ,after replacing primer bulb iI have noticed a slight drop of revs , for a few seconds . My Hayter 47 is 27 years old and usually starts first time , but after bulb replacement sometimes it starts for a few seconds and stops . It always goes on second attempt . Any ideas would be great , or maybe I have not have installed bulb properly . Thanks for tour opinion in advance .
