I'm replacing a 980, It served me well, but i wanna try 1440p & High refresh rate... it'd still be perfectly fine if i was sticking to 1080p 60hz though

Here we are one year later. Jay continues to be the proud owner of what often seems the only one of these ever made, which nvidia graciously sent him, and he showed here exactly one week before actual (paper) launch. How I'd love to have just five minutes alone with this man's rolodex.

As far as I know Nvidia got upset because youtube channels like Linus took apart their 20 series cards and this time Nvidia took precautions and did some stuff making it so that they can't take it apart, at least before launch.
I usually just listen to your videos while gaming, but I almost always tab out for the Ifitit ad.

@Rerin YL no lol. Sli was always an incredible waste of money.
@Rerin YL It's very workload dependant. Some workloads you can get a pretty big performance boost but I don't think it's possible to get the full 2x due to the extra work from scheduling. That said many modders and custom builders put the two cards in with SLI when they have the ridiculous budgets and want the ascetic.

I think the “Rocket boosters” may be designed that way so that they don’t cover up the logo on the side of the card.
yeah the logo is going to be hiddem with either cable, bad desgin flaw
they could have just put the logo on the left instead of the right
@@sanicmidgetking9393 My guess is they didn't put it on the left side because a lot of cases cover over that 'back end' part, making it difficult for the brand to be seen. But my opinion is they should've either done it or find a better solution on the card's design to put the power connector in a different place, would've been far better than what they came up with. A lot of people will use third party power cables that will cover the logo anyway.

I'm planing on getting one and like you I plan to air cool my next rig as I see no need to just to put the CPU underwater.
The “Y” adapter cable is so you don’t block the lit logo. If you “wrap around” a single cable you will block the logo.
I loved that you just dropped the 2080 Ti like it was just trash. lol
I’m glad when I built my rig in the spring that I got an 850 watt power supply as I am now planning on getting a 3090!

I found someone whom got a hold of an Asus Strix 3090 on offer up, however the asking price is $2000. I'd rather wait for big Navi to drop so i can compare and contrast and go from there.
Also the wire gauge of the included Y adapter is beefier which is why it woulld be a good idea to stick on using it. Also the aesthetic is kind of irrelevant at this point because of the location of the power connector. Even using that long evga power connector is still killing the aesthetic of the card and also blocking the logo. So the argument of using a third party power connector is moot in my humble opinion. I will personally use the included adapter since it looks thicker and better quality.

Well my 5700 xt red devil came later than RTX 2070 Super and is just few fps slower overall, but 200€ cheaper. I think I'll wait for AMD response before buying.

Hi Jay, with the release of the nvidia 30 series I'm planning on upgrade from my gaming laptop to a gaming desktop, is the first time I'm building the pc on my own, I've been watching your videos on picking parts, what to do after building, pc cases an so on, BUT right now I don't know how to install multiple fan on a case when the motherboard have like only 2 fans headers, I was planning to buy a X570 AORUS ELITE and it says 1 x CPU fan header, 1 x water cooling CPU fan header, 2 x system fan headers. But I have saw some builds with over 9 fans. Maybe is something to obvious but i'm a little lost in there. Thanks and is always pleasure to see your videos, great content!

I am waiting to see how they pan out in the next few reviews but I am already immensely impressed so far.
The colour, in my opinion is fantastic and the new design will look super in many cases.
I plan to buy a 3080 and a 3070 to mod two BeQuiet cased builds. (a Black-rimmed Black Pro 900 Rev2, and a Metallic Grey Pure Base 500).
The cabling adapter may present an issue to some individuals who may understandably, just want an out of the box perfect fit solution. But as a custom builder/modder, I consider it another welcome challenge to modding two already fantastic rigs.
By the way, I have no issues with those green LEDs that are constantly being griped about. I quite like them...

I'm working up a build to replace by ancient FX 8 core build. The 3000 series is now in my build list. I will probably go with the 3070. I am searching your channel for all the build guides I will need. You have been very helpful so far in my system building adventures.
I would like to say, thank you Jay. Linus also unboxed one, but totally avoided mentioning the warranty void, you could even see it was the only thing left in the box. Kudos to you for mentioning what could be something you do not want to find out about the hard way.

This is the same crap apple pulled when they changed the charging cable on the Iphone ot a proprietary one and warned people against using 3rd party ones. At least their OEM ones didn't look like garbage though.
They have no way to prove that you weren't using the factory one though, so I doubt if anyone actually uses that terrible looking thing.

Seems like the adapter they provide splits the way it does so when you wrap the cables around you can still see the logo lit up. Makes sense, and I'm okay with it. Gorgeous card!
