I just cracked open my bottle and sat down to hear your review as I sipped through the neckpour. I agree 100% with your opinion. 💯🥃(I also have a bottle of Octomore 14.1, but that won't get opened for a while. I'm looking forward to it.) Salud
I enjoy the PC18 so much I went back and got another bottle, it is more like the PMC:01 than the PC10 like you stated, also nothing like the 14.1 which I agree is delightful. I'm wondering if the PC18 might be a little like the 14.2.
I wish I could tell you at length what I had to do to get this bottle. Long story short as soon as I found a Total Wine that had it. It was a cannonball run in the rain on my lunch hour to get it so that my wife wouldn’t find out. $211 all in for it. I’m hoping I like it.
I’m also looking forward to that Indri Diwali whisky review. Sounds interesting. In my collection I only have a Paul John heavily Peated. I had an Amrit Peated CS in 2018 and it had too much cinnamon.
Nice one John I am curious about this but just haven't seen it in a bar to try. I'd love to see you do a head to head with Ledaig 18. Cheers my friend!
Whisky Lock/Shane also said that it comes across as younger than am 18 year old, too. I love Port Charlotte, but it's £175 here, which is a tough sell for me when I can buy Ledaig 18 for £80. Although Ledaig 18 is the best value single malt out there in my opinion. It's certainly stands out from the crowd with regards to age/quality/price ratio.
The PC18 is not a grown up PC10…. But more in line with the PC cask exploration series wine influenced offerings. Agree the L18 offers relative value comparatively. Cheers🥃
@TopShelfWhisky did a good review, and they suggested this one might REALLY benefit from 6 months of air in the bottle. I haven't opened mine yet, but I'm definitely going to give it time to breathe when I do.
Yes and no…. Heavily Peated offerings can dissipate over time…. Even collapsing…Time will tell… I would recommend enjoying it now and see for yourself the journey as it oxidizes over time… Cheers 🥃
Glad you reviewed this John because I am a fan of all things Bruichladdich/Port Charlotte. This caught my eye of course. However, the one thing that could not escape my eye was the price. I'm becoming ever more depressed about the state of the whisky world and the price of this bottle is precisely why. There is absolutely no reason for it to be so expensive apart from the distillery's belief that we will pay anything. They already know that because of the obscene price of Octomore and Black Art. I'm sure I would enjoy this bottle but I can't be exploited in such an obvious way. Nevertheless, I'm glad you got a bottle for a good price and shared your thoughts. Thank you.
Took one for the team… again 😳 Honestly I convinced myself I would pass on this because of the steep price…I bought it at slightly less than an obscene price… It’s becoming a rich man’s world. But it’s really not a PC18 but more like PC Cask Exploration with an age statement. Cheers 🥃
Wow, thank you so much for the promo! I really appreciate it and your kind comments on my videos. It really helps me stay motivated!
You’re welcome! You do great work and I’m confident your channel will do very well.

@@KakoGuzmanMusic thanks so much 🙏… means a lot!
That 14.1 is definitely worth the wait!
Cheers 😇🥃
Thanks for the review John. Very tempted to purchase a bottle of PC18 sounds right up my street.
Good juice but pricey.

Bruichladdich are putting out some good juice albeit expensive. Agree with everything you said but I haven’t had the 14.2…

Sipping on one of my favorite Port Charlotte's while watching..............OLC:01
Good to know…. I haven’t tried them all but seems all are great 😊

Not a bad price…. The things we do…🤣😳
Let me know your thoughts when you crack it.

Thanks for reviewing this one. It quickly sold out here. Octomore 14.1 is really good.
You’re welcome 😇

Amrut can be an acquired taste…. I had similar experience with my first heavily peated cask strength.
Cheers 🥃
Great review. I just couldn't pull the trigger on it, too expensive. Recently got to try an IB Port Charlotte 14yr that was excellent. Cheers!
I hear ya….

L18 vs PC18 coming soon to theaters 🎭😇

@@justwhisky Thanks for the explanation. I got that feeling from your review.
@@justwhisky Excellent description.
Thanks for the review (i.e. warning), John 👍😎 Much appreciated.
Wine casks... thanks, but no thanks. Especially red wine.
You’re welcome. Glad you found it helpful.

Was hoping this would be bourbon cask dominant, but no, not a drop!
Not a drop !
