    This was very well done. It's almost a good way to give it a good cleaning, too. Thank you for showing us how to do it ourselves and a list of the tools. Have a good day.

    Would this process be any different on a fiberglass tub and shower unit? Are the same replacement parts and methods shown in this video applicable on fiberglass?

    Great video. This is going to be the next thing I do to fix up my tub. Gotta get gloves!

    Does the overflow plate have to be replaced also?

  • @janengland6478

    Do you have to replace the overflow plate, or can you just remove and replace the drain itself?

      You can leave the overflow, but the kit comes with the plate…. It’s up to you.

    Your video made replacing the tub drain look easy. Not so... I managed to remove the old rubber gasket, though it came out in pieces. Now I can't get the new rubber gasket in. In your video it looks like you have space to freely move the gasket around under the tub. I have no free space around the drain. It is very tight. Only by inserting a flat head screwdriver between the tub and drain, and pushing down, can I get any space. I don't want to damage the tub either. After a half our of trying to push the gasket into place, I cannot get it in. Suggestions welcome! (FYI, this is a 2nd floor bathroom so I have no access from underneath.)

    Purchased several drains and they are all longer than the old. Am I supposed to cut it short?

      You need to check the thread size and length. And no, I have never had to cut these before.

    What should you use to remove drain if you cant use tool due to the metal all rotted out?

    • @DIYPlumbingGuy
      @DIYPlumbingGuy  8 месяцев назад +1

      Well...At that point unfortunately you will need access from the bottom and will have to cut it out. That it self, is one video in which i should add to my list of future videos. Good luck.🛠👍

      That is a common problem. Years ago I had that happen and there was a video about it. I think I had to drill 2 holes on the top and use a needle nose pliers

    What's the name of the 4 tooth tool you used to remove the drain?

    You didn't put a new gasket behind the overflow drain.
