    how come you do a farmers/alpine knot for the first loop and then a figure 8 on the second one? is there a reason you can't use the same knot for both? is it a vector thing? also i'm assuming in a pinch, the pulley is optional and you basically just need anchor points.

      The figure 8 is easier to tie when trying to make a knot that is at a specific location on the rope. I measured out the loop then I can easily make the knot there. Outside of that, there is no real reason you couldn't use a different knot. Great question. I hope my answer makes sense.

      Thank you for the comment. I am sorry I lost you on that knot. The video was more of a "how to set up the voodoo system" and not really a "knot tutorial", so some basic knot knowledge is required for a complex set up like this. The knots used were listed at the end of the video so that if anyone has any questions, they can further research the different types of knots. Several were used.
