Australia love Pilatus, their military operated the PC-9 for decades, now they have the PC-21. Their flying doctor ops used to fly their PC-12, now their PC-24. Good stuff all around.
I liked the King Air B-350. I am originally from Switzerland. Wow! A SWISS made light jet! Little expensive (better check my petty cash)! Just the fact that this is SWISS made has sold me on this PC-24, it is just a matter of financing at the moment. I am honestly impressed!
I am from Australia and I have seen this little airplane flying overhead several times as an RFDS aircraft. Thank you for the extremely informative video!
@@CoinDoctor1 PC-21s are military trainers. The RFDS fleet also has plenty of PC-12s that could not be mistaken for the PC-24. Just go to the Pilatus web site. The RFDS were key partners in the design of the PC-24. www.pilatus-aircraft.com/en
A highly detailed, objective and most appreciated review. I don't think it's an advertisement as challenges are presented and Pilatus' ability to overcome them explained. Scott take a detailed look at what the PC12 has achieved in a relatively short period of time. Based on that reputation the company sold out the initial production run of the PC24 in an unprecedented 36 hours!
Good thing he generously mentioned the PC-12, because the PC-24 offers the same capacities when it comes to passengers and range. The main difference is the speed and... the price of course!
That is a beautiful aircraft. Form generally has to follow function, hence why most common civilian aircraft are boring looking. This one nails both, form, AND function.
"Competitors even claim that it is not really a business jet." For any other manufacturer that would be disrespectful, for Pilatus that's a compliment lol.
PC24 can land at airports where only turbo prop can go. Existing traditional biz jet makers will be upset how a new company with altogther new jet gains so much appreciation. It's a small SUV, but typical American jet makers don't think about buyers beyond US & that's where Pilatus PC24 wins.
what is a 'business' jet? it's obviously a jet aircraft that allows it's owner to conduct 'business'. In the case of the RFDS (Royal Flying Doctor Service) in Australia ... they are in the 'business' of saving peoples lives!! If that's not a 'business' .. I don't know what is.🙄
David Huett pretty much, other companies arbitrary definition of business jets is just that they need to be luxurious and cater to business execs and wealthy people. They can’t think of a small jet being capable of doing more than one thing 😂.
The PC24 (and PC12) are my offices... the 24 is an amazing aircraft to fly and work in. My dad's a retired commercial pilot, and I know he'll enjoy watching this review. Thank you :)
Great video about a unique plane. You where a little surprised by the website for the cabin controls, but it is actually the technical superior option. It works on any phone, including business phones which are locked down for security reasons. And even if you assume everyone to have a private smartphone on hands as well, they might lack mobile internet access in a plane.
Excellent video. Watched from start to finish. One thing that you did not mention was the nacelle design of the engines that allowed passive thrust vectoring at high power settings. It also contributes to the short field takeoff capabilities of the aircraft.
Impressive piece of equipment. Low landing speed and no need for pavement is a great feature even if it is not normally needed. And QPM low engine idle acting as APU is brilliant. I have a hunch this thing has some CJ and phenom engs working overtime. Haha.
I've watched pretty much every single video of yours so far and they're brilliant mate, your very factual yet always done with a bit of humour videos are always really enjoyable. You should be proud of your channel mate, fantastic job!!
I love this review. It's interesting, there are not only positive things mentioned but also challenges and disadvantages of certain systems. Oh and the Top Gear reference. Total thumbs up for that!
There are actually some highways in the outback that double as emergency RFDS landing strips. Local police will block the road where the aircraft needs to land, and trucks are fitted with UHF so that they know when a landing is to take place.
Hi Sky, thanks for this. I just realise that we have many similarities. I like Gundams, BMW 7, Top Gear, S-Classes (have 2 old ones), and planes. Thanks for the channel. The world is a better place with you. Happy flights, and soft landings to you.
It's called Pee-lah-tus because as soon as you step your feet on the entrance ladder you see the Lavatory. It is not hidden by a curtain. This gives a comforting feeling to boarding passengers.
That was fascinating - thanks for posting. That really is a unique small jet, not just a business jet. Looks like it will find a niche in a similar way to the BAe 146.
NSW Air Ambulance and the RFDS would love these for their rush jobs in remote locations where only bush pilots and rugged planes dare to go. Being able to land on unprepared runways would be excellent for servicing far-flung cattle stations in the middle of nowhere.
Thx for a extremely informative video ! I have never been exposed to any info in this type aircraft & yet I feel you have answered any possible question I could have come up with ; more than adequately ! Congrats to the company producing this aircraft , if I had designed it after becoming an efficiency expert at my old company , I do not think I could have come up with more than a few improvements after a thorough vetting of all systems ! Quite an impressive feat & may the winds fill your sails ................ sales ?
Checkout XTI Trifan 600. It's the future of light jets. It's even *more* versatile than this. And the fuel cost of flying is only $1/mile. It will make this and all other light jets obsolete. It's not yet built, but in 4 years I believe it will take over the short and medium ranged flights sky.
Good vid. This is definitely a specialized plane. The bathroom design would put off a lot of light business jet crowd I think. But if you want to land on an unimproved landing strip you don't have many choices.
Damn Sky this is one fine review. Love the unbias nature of the facts history and humor👌 I am wowed with your videos and they keep getting better and better. Top of the platform you are💯 Thank you very much Sky, as i wish fast flights and soft landings to you too. ❤

Lots of car references. Only a few companies have done cars and planes, and even fewer are still alive. Today, there is one active member (which comes from the opposite direction of most of these companies). So... does this mean we'll see it in this new series? :D

Pilatus should buy this video from you to promote the machine. Your detailed insight and fair observations are second to none.
I don’t know nothing about airplanes but this guy makes me listen to everything he says haha. Love his narration

This narrator is absolutely brilliant. He nailed the review of this new, interesting jet.
agreed, the humor interjects are wonderful
He talks funny.
I feel like buying the damn thing... can't afford it though 😃
The best technical aviation RUclips channel!! Hands down!
21:27 I love the fact that there are dirt bikes in the back. If I owned this I would definitely put dirt bikes in the back.
You can land at the track....
The best video about one of the most celebrated new aircraft on the market today. Thank You!
Thank you Georg...
Awesome documentary of the PC24! I think Pilatus will be very proud when they view your film. I hope it opens many new cabin doors for you!

It's a PC12J.
It is certainly the jet for the business of moving product from remote grass/gravel strips for long distance delivery. Just look at that cargo door.

One of the most detailed videos. Good!
Agreed
The company i work for just got their 6th pc24. Its a beautiful jet!
This is the best Jet ever in my opinion !! The PC12 is the best turboprop !! Need I say more ??
That's a nicely written and illustrated script! A corporate film as neatly done as the plane it features. Enjoyed it! Thanks.
Very good video! as the aircraft itself. Complete and balanced.
This is my idea of the best private versatile jet to charter. It's landing requirements are not demanding. Love it! Well done!
Wow Sky, you really are moving up! Your videos are top notch, you deserve it.
As always Sky, you are the best!
The PC24 (and PC12) are my offices... the 24 is an amazing aircraft to fly and work in. My dad's a retired commercial pilot, and I know he'll enjoy watching this review. Thank you :)
This was the most comprehensive walkthrough of the PC24, Thanx ! I really enjoyed that !
Definitely, a way to "ponder the secrets of the universe". Thanks.

Excellent video. Watched from start to finish. One thing that you did not mention was the nacelle design of the engines that allowed passive thrust vectoring at high power settings. It also contributes to the short field takeoff capabilities of the aircraft.
The wing reminds me a little of the Vickers VC-10 in terms of short field performance and speed. Bravo Pilatus and excellent video, Sky.

Outstanding. I know it took weeks or months to produce this. You have a new subscriber.

Versatility of PC24 is fantastic & kudos to team Pilatus for making such unique aircraft.
I love this review. It's interesting, there are not only positive things mentioned but also challenges and disadvantages of certain systems.

Nailed it again sky! Well done.
Very well engineered ! Excellent narrator! No doubt about Pilatus reliability !

👌Congratulations for your great documentation of the Pilatus Aircraft's 🛩from my Home country Switzerland 💖🇨🇭
😎Keep going on with your great work 👍
What a marvelous jet. Versatile indeed! Great video, not only entertaining but educational at the same time. Thank you for your video upload!

Thanks for doing this one. This is the jet I want to get.
You simply destroyed my dream plane calling it "a suv" :D
Thank you for this! What a great job you did. I feel like I understand this aircraft now. Congratulations on the views. Please keep making videos!
Pilates PC-24. The LandCruiser for the sky.
As a pilot, a lover of all things Pilatus and a LandCruiser owner, I love your comment.
That’s the pc-6
Landcruiser is definitely not a jet, at best it would be a turboprop.
@@Martian74 more like lexus Rx 450h
I’d probably compare it to a G-Wagon :)
I would not expect anything less than this from the Swiss, one only has to look to the knife to see where this was headed. Bravo!

I loved the entire Gulfstream series and I loved this one. I think a Dassault Falcon series would be amazing!

Terrific job of describing every pro and con of this amazing aircraft.
Excellent overview. Thank you.
An outstanding high quality video (as usual). Well done!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video tour of this very beautiful jet. Thanks for making this. Top notch.
The climb rate of the PC24 is quite impressive.
Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Thank you for a great review of an amazing super jet. 👍🏽
You are an excellent writer and producer. I love these films.
The electrics and electronics features
Wow
as a top gear fan the fact that you threw a top gear refrence in the video you won my heart
Good job! 👍🏻 It truly is the most complete and interesting review of an airplane I have seen so far. Congrats and thanks. 👌🏻

The RFDS where involved in the development, and currently have at least 3 in operation.
That QPM is amazing. Great content! Keep it up!
A lot of this technology seems like innovations the big commercial manufacturers could use..
Great detailed video of the finest private jet manufactured.
Very good video with an amazing story line that covers all the necessary angles! It's inspiring!

Bravo, fantástico tu trabajo, profunda investigación y presentación. Felicitaciones.
