I don't know about the UK. But yes here in America they're mandatory reporter's. You can lose your job and do 5 years in prison for not reporting. My aunt works in the ER in my town in Washington state.

By far the best discussion I’ve seen on the Brand Scandal. I’ve seen podcasts that dismiss it as an attack in the Matrix (or something like that) and others who are emotionally outraged he did this. You guys are spot on.
Nonsense. They don't go to the police and only come forward anonymously decades later because evil journalists go searching for a way to destroy a man? This is not innocent until proven guilty. This is trial by public opinion and what little supposed evidence they have is manipulated and highly suspect.

I love these skits!
So a couple things I found off about the Brand situation..
From my understanding,
Channel 4 hired four women to retell the stories of the victims, even though the actresses were shadowed out in order to appear as the victims were telling their own story but wanted to remain anonymous.
The victims want to remain anonymous and no police report was filed. I understand why women choose not to go to police but if a woman is in fear of going to police, they would be much more afraid of going to the media.
Brand has been up front about being promiscuous and that he has multiple addictions, including sex addiction. To me, this would make it much easier to go to police or share at the time of it happening and not waiting a decade or more to share.
Why not share when he is an A list celebrity instead of a political commentator who has turned his back on Hollywood or at least share during the height of me too and believe all women? Why wait until now when he is coming out against the elite class?
Though it definitely feels inappropriate, the age of consent is 16 in the UK. Not saying a 15 year age difference is appropriate but it may not be illegal.
The text messages it read in full show Brand apologizing for not wearing a condom, not for assaulting anyone.. and even still, the texts were poorly edited/photoshopped and it’s pretty clear that they are due to misalignment of the text bubbles, odd color shading in the text bubble and different text sizes.
The victim who had the rape kit chose not to press charges.
RUclips demonetized Brands RUclips channel due to the accusations though have not done the same with other Celebs with similar accusations against them.
With how easily it is to take back consent, and how people can claim assault for what use to be considered “normal” inappropriateness, it’s made it difficult for me to believe accusations that come out in this fashion. I think the me too movement caused more damage as far as believing woman than before this movement took place. And I think Brand is an easy target just because of his honesty about his sexual behaviors of the past. In the end though, we need to remember it’s innocent until proven guilty by a jury of our peers in a court of law… we need to stop this court of public opinion, it’s destroying innocent lives.
Any objective evaluation of the "facts" lead to the conclusion that this is all bollocks.
