OMFG that intro! 🤣 I learned the hard way to not watch the beginning of Normal World with any liquids in my mouth, and I have been vindicated! I wish I knew more people so I could say "Hey remember genuinely funny stuff from funny people? You can actually get that again, I swear!". I was never a Howard Stern fan back in the day, but I feel for those who were. It must be so depressing seeing what he's become. I don't even know who his target audience is at this point.
His target audience is to avoid being canceled at any cost.
Some of those fans evolved with him, and because of him. I doubt he stopped doing his radio show for covid when everyone else was required to stop. (He can do that shit from home with a tin can and it would be an improvement.) I know a guy that listens to Hasan Piker to get his opinions. You did read that right.

The weird thing about the "made-up" comedy bits is that they seem like they'd be funny even if they didn't happen to him, so there's no need to say they happened to him. On the other hand, I don't really care. One of my favorite bits of Chapelle's is where he's in the ghetto, and he sees a baby, and he goes, "Hey, baby, get inside. It's dangerous out here," and he says the baby said, "F you, n****, I got kids to feed." Obviously, that didn't happen, but it's hilarious as all hell.

I miss those days… even the legit gay kids were way cooler back then. One of my favorite memories was when one of my gay friends said “That’s soooo gay” to me, a straight female, in high school for wearing a certain shirt. I can’t even remember the damn shit since it was 2005 but I do remember that moment. It’s sad what society has become. Makes me appreciate growing up in the 90s even more so.

We had in our class three boys one was very girly got nick name Barbie, one somewhat resambled in his facial features down syndrome - nick name Corky and one fat - nick name Buli ( a snowman from cartoon in Europe). Love the show, but I am with 1/4 black don't care for stern, never found him funny. Tried way back after hearing all about him at time was working at security guard and so had plenty of time to hear him and each time sucked and Stearns was the least funny of anyone that was on the show.

I grew up vaguely seeing Stern, and I always thought he was a little scummy. But what I will say is that he kinda pioneered the idea of the podcast without knowing it. What has unfortunately happened is that all of these people that pushed the edges and opened doors are now trying to close the doors behind them.
Chris Chan invented “let’s play” genre
He didn't really invent podcasting, it wasn't even something at the time that was conceptualized but he was one of the big stars of radio, which was seen as way more valid a form of entertainment then than it is now. Certain comedic friends of the Opie and Anthony show were pretty instrumental in early podcasting though. One in particular, Bob Kelly, really inspired Rogan to try and get into podcasting, and the rest is history. Bob never made anywhere that level of fame or money, but sometimes that's the way she goes. Funny guy.
