My only prob is your lvl 400 not many ppl are that level I was gonna larvel tear and copy your build but I can't cause your 190 or so levels above me😂 will it work at lvl 210?
It won't protect per se, but will cancel the charm on your head after you got grabbed.
@@HateCap I've done it just now at NG, level 205, with level 16 sadutree blessing and level 8 revered spirit ash blessing. Don't summon any NPC's or players, just use the mimic whenever you have an opening. And keep an eye on the magic shield. Took me about 15 tries to beat him.
Some other things to note if you want to go this route.
There's actually an upgrade to the stamina recovery talisman, it can be located in the river ravine north of the starting field area. Closest grace is Ellac River Cave if you haven't gone that way fully yet. Take the closest exit out, and head north. It's hidden behind a waterfall.
If you're fine with losing the Dex and damage from Millicent's or simply don't have that if you finished the quest proper, more damage resistance talismans are also an option, in particular the Golden Braid talisman from the Hinterlands area provides great Holy Resistance to go along with the physical, as those are the two main damage types for this fight. Other good options if you do want damage are things like Kindred of Rot's Exultation to benefit from the Rot applications.
The charm can be mitigated with use of Miquella's Great Rune acquired from the Scadutree Avatar boss fight accessed from the Church Quarter of Shadow Keep. Despite the name, it's an active reusable item that needs to be actively used and put on your hotbar, but if it's becoming an issue, there's a way out.
When Radahn does his meteor, the best way to avoid it is not to roll, but just run straight in a direction, it doesn't really track the player much so you can just easily get out of its radius before it lands.
Was struggling with this boss for hours after slapping down the entire dlc with star fists. After watching this guide and respeccing at lvl 175 I beat it in about 7 attempts. Thank you so much!
Yeah same but I used a different weapon, anything that can poke through blocking and with a bleed ash is fine.

@@chrisocream9517 I had 67 vigor, 30mind, 30 endurance, 48 strength, 40 Dex, 12 int, 25 faith, 7 arcane. I also used Radahns armour instead of bull goat so I wasn’t overloaded with weight due to only having 30 endurance. Probably could have switched the lvls around slightly but this worked for me at 175

I appreciate the detailed guide of Radahn's attacks. Well explained. Another alternative is the Virdigris armor set, it has similar defenses as the Bull-Goat set, but lighter, and it also has a phenomenal heavy shield with more poise than the Fingerprint shield. You get the Virdigris set either after killing Moore if he invades you as an NPC, or after beating him during the Leda boss fight, depending on the path/dialogues you took. Also, when Radahn grabs you, he casts a charm on you (the little thing appears over your head), use Miquella's Great Rune (it's a reusable item that you find during the playthrough) to negate the charm.
Also maybe pin this, if you found Miquella's rune, its an infinite consumable that you can use after the first hug. Then if he hugs you again, it resets the counter again. So each time he grabs you, you use the rune again to get rid of the glowing crown above your head.
Been struggling with him for a few hours.. must’ve killed me at least 20+ times. Tried this build and beat him first try, thank you 🙏🏼

Thank You!!!! I struggled for a few hours, switched to a Inpenatrable Thorns build and kept dying late in the second phase. With this, I beat him in 2 tries..and I only died the first time because I didn’t have Miquella Rune in my pouch and he grabbed me twice. THE BEST STRAT OUT💯
For people doing lvl 150 builds here are my stat distributions. (Wretch starting class)
Vigor: 47
Mind: 10
Endurance: 57 (the ER Build website is incorrect and you need 57 not 56 for med roll)
Strength: 48
Dexterity: 20
Faith: 25
Arcane: 10
Talisman Slots: (Great-Jar's Arsenal) + (Erdtree's Favor +2) + (Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman) + (Two-Headed Turtle Talisman)
*key note: Put a Blessing of Marika on your equipment hotbar so your mimic tear uses it and never dies.

Thank you soooo much for the video was able to do it within 4 tries thanks to your build I made a few edits of my own, instead of bull armor I used Verdigris which you get from Moore's and same with the shield same set, and I used the upgraded turtle talisman (Two-Headed Turtle Talisman) *Greatly raises stamina recovery speed* flask I kelp both healing cause I was too lazy to go get them lol

Gzuz! I actually made it with your build after countless attempts with numerous setups. Needed a few tries to get used to the mechanics and tried some variations, but stayed with the rapier and the shield. Again, thank you, somehow it saved my overall DLC experience :)

Yepppp this is what I did, 99 Str, 99 Dex, 99 Arc. Bloody helice plus fingerprint shield and a few talismans, ur all good to go.

I finally did it, thank you so much and i kept having him on me and would avoid the mimic so much. I had to be greedy since the AI kept glitching at times and would not get off my ass. Thank you so much. This did help me on my 15th try offline

You’re a legend, just beat this on new game 7+ at lvl 400 as well. This guy hurts more than any foe I’ve ever fought. This dlc was a train ride with the difficulty of getting 2-3 hit on every single boss
Hello! Just beaten the boss - after suffering many hours with various combinations and builds - with your suggestions on lvl 160 on my 5th try! THANK YOU! The trick with that simple spell (magic shield) enabled me to TANK the f...cker 90 percent of the time. Me (any my mimic) used BLOOD TAX on the RAPIER which made it finish like in 5 minutes or so :)) And i recommend it to any1 who's reading comments. BTW the ROT is ironically very strong against him. It might also be a good idea to return to some classics like rotten breath lol. THANKS AGAIN :)))
There is an upgraded turtle talisman somewhere in ellac river behind a waterfall, it’s called the two-headed turtle talisman I love it

I see a lot of phantoms with this build now XD. When I try putting down my sign, I see the host and the other summon using the exact same build or sometimes the other one is the thorn build. XD

You can reverse his hugs with a Miquella's Great Rune, so unlimited hug lol, and for the shield tty Moore's shield, so tanky without any buff, and talisman of all cruciblr will grant you all crucible talismans

THANK YOU!!! I was ready to quit this fight, this strat works like a charm, I used Moore's armor instead of Bullgoat cause it's a bit lighter and swapped gloves to Banished Knight for medium roll. Used Mohgs Spear cause I didn't have the Rapier you used. But the overall strat was great! Thank you thank you thank you!

You can use miquella's great rune after every grab to stop the insta death

@@Megidolaon999 ? It's a usable item like mohgs shackle for example it doesn't replace your great rune. It just makes sure the second grab if it hits doesn't make you lose immediately.

omg i subbed so hard man. i was failing for days on ng+7 ...this worked after like 20 tries lmao. my advice to others is be hella aggressive like he said if ur staminia is above half just keep blocking and jabbing at same time.. in second phase u have 2 sec to enhance shield and then run right to him and start poking with this and bleed/rot and u can kill him pretty easy! i kept running away in between his combos and it was killing me

To cancel the effect of his grab attack you will need to use Miquella great rune you will need to find a secret boss to get it’s northeast of shadow Keep

second phase i kust keep getting with the holy stuff from miquella and i have no time to apply scholar shield

this is more or less what i did. i used verdigris discus and heavy load, golden braid, two-headed turtle talisman, and pearl shield talisman. i didn't use any spells or incants for buffs and used physick tear to negate his asteroid that i could never dodge right (even without heavy load). i also used quickstep on the antspur (with bleed) so the mimic tear would stop wasting time on whatever other ash of war and it ended up being handy a "regular dodge" to use on some of his magic gravity attacks (namely the corkscrew). i also noticed i blocked his huge holy ray of light attack better if i two-hand the shield, being able to recover faster. i think if i did it again the same way, i'd farm the black knight greatshield and use it instead as it has higher holy resistance and that's where all the damage that was killing me came from.
