The game is what you make it and is designed for anyone's interpretation and personal experience. Hell, Miyazaki has made that a strong point in elden ring's purpose as a game whenever he's asked questions about it. It's quite literally designed to be a different game for everybody who plays it depending on what they do.

If it weren't for this outside source that played the game for him, he would've not spent hours upon hours grinding for runes to get this strong. 2. Apart from shield builds the DLC is still hard regardless. He even died numerous times to both messmer and bayle with his cheese build
Asmon is cool and no hate but he complained and said that the dlc was too hard then goes around blocking and poking at lvl 350+ for a free W but also tells ppl using summons is cheese and flips from basically crying to saying the dlc is a 10. Really hard to understand his points of view.

My position has changed on Elden Ring more than any other game that i know throughout the game. Ive gone from this game is a 10/10 to this game sucks 5/10 at bbest to i am having fun its 8/10 to its back to 10/10 that was so freaking cool then this is stupid where do i go next screw this game ....I feel like Elden Ring does some things so freaking well and then there are so many frustrating things about the game as well. My favorite from software game is Sekiro and its not even close.

Shield build is so cheesy lol. My friend first tried the boss with ease, then there was me failing to do it with like 50+ trys. He also did malenia in like 4 trys, like it was no sweat.

It's a bad solution tho. I also switched everything up Radahn and it bugged me. It's an RPG, it's supposed to be balanced so that any build is viable but anything except Spear/Shield combo just gets unfairly punished. You can't get a colossal weapon build to have fun on it because he attacks so frequently. It's bad design. Every build should allow for the same level of enjoyment

If a boss is immune to hemorrhage, your katana build isn’t going to work anymore and you’d be better switching it up, but no one is stopping you from throwing yourself at a wall, just don’t get it twisted as to think that’s the devs problem that you’re stubborn

The point is you can make it as hard or as easy as you want it to be. They give you all of the tools to do so. There is no point in complaining about the difficulty.
I always say this. Especially in Elden Ring there are plenty of tools to make the game significantly easier. It's just up to you to use your brain and find them.

In previous Souls games bosses were obviously designed so the average player could beat them with a stick and some i-frames. That mentality doesn't carry over to ER. It's easy to forget but ER is a new IP.

Well moghs spear is a weapon you are pretty much forced to be able to get(need to beat mogh) and you can beat everything with it quite easaly so yeah people who have a problem with difficutly because they essantialy try to do a Challenge run, but than complain about it being to hard are bad, the game gives you countless stuff to make most stuff trivial, if someone doesnt want to use that its fine,yet complaining about the difficutly that they picked is kinda stupid. (Mogh spear is btw not even close to what Nonsense the dlc gave us btw last boss under 15s xd)

Wait so on his previous play through a week ago the bosses were exposing his jump build and Asmon complaining like a 10 year old saying the bosses were too hard, wasn't even using a great rune and not even trying to understand how to fight bosses. Now fast forward he changes his build to a Shield poke build and says this is the best DLC he's ever played. Quite astonishing lol.

I mean I don’t blame him it’s pretty stupid that they almost completely removed jumping builds because of how endless boss combos are and how quickly they recover from staggers. I personally beat the base game with dual guts swords and even through all of the dlc now I’m sitting at Radahn and literally can’t attack without trading let alone touch him second phase because of the extra holy attacks at the end of his combo strings. I’m trying my best to not pussy out and switch to shield cheese but that fight is pure shit
@@ballsackman7796 Yeah for sure, Radahn is very challenging I understand that, I got my ass handed to me a lot but he is beatable. Plenty of tarnished are beating him and there are already vids of no hit runs on him. I personally beat him with 2h nagakiba. The bosses in the dlc are more aggressive so it can take more practice and getting used to attack windows which is testing patience of gamers. Watching Asmon play the DLC I just smh sometimes because he makes it harder on himself a lot of the times. Unfortunately, purely jump attacking everything is not a method for success and also not learning how to utilize dodge will also make things tougher which is what happened to Asmon before he switched builds.

i killed radahn yesterday in such a cool way, he was one hit and inflicted with rot. miquella grabbed me a second time and died to rot right before i died in prayer pose, got the gesture and died right after radahn and it counted

Elden Ring was made to be cheesed. A lot of the problems people have with ER is trying to play it like previous games. In older Souls games bosses were balanced assuming players were going to use and a sword and dodge roll. In ER it's pretty clear they assume players are using spells and stuff they find in the environment as a baseline. Playing ER like it's Dark Souls should be considered a challenge run.
@@sd5919 This is exact reason why i kinda disliked my first playthrough, I played it too much like a dark souls. Now I play much more freely, using all the different tools they give you and it is so much more fun.
You should never infuse fingerprint with anything elemental - it's best kept at standard for the guard boost; the literal reason to use this shield. Unless you use it to attack that is.
Don’t forget, the finger shield blocks 100% piercing damage

@@MrRafagigapr Gael still clears. Consort Radahn tries too hard to be cool. The second phase is just eye-cancer vs being cool. It's not even that hard if you play like Asmon, I play this way too. It's boring but it's too annoying and aggressive to play other ways. Not saying it's not possible to go shieldless but the game punishes you unnecessarily hard for not poking the boss from behind a shield the whole fight. I beat it after probably a dozen tries, granted I have like 11 Scadutree Fragments. Couldnt naturally find any more before the final boss so I just fought him with Fingerprint Shield and Blood Pike. Any other playstyle in phase 2 seemed impossible or just too punishing. The shield/spear combo is also boring but so much easier than not doing that that I feel compelled to use it for my sanity. Gael lets you play anyway you want because he has a lot of downtime and large openings. Radahn is just too sweaty to be enjoyable

Moral of the story is, there's always a bigger fish. You can always limit and challenge yourself while discrediting basic mechanics and tools from other players.

Asmon actually sacrified himself to help gamers who use summons. Now whenever I watch some streamer using summons on their playthrough, I think "this is nowhere near as boringly easy as asmon's shield + 300 lvls run, props to them"

Godwyn was hit by destined death, you don't take destined death and then resurrect. The best hope for a Godwyn fight would be against some sort of posessed Godwyn zombie abomination, but it would not be Godwyn. The reverse Radahn situation, Radahn has his soul but not his body, well, considering Radahn rejected Miquella and is now his consort, something was lost or altered when Miquella got a hold of his soul.
I think the reason a lot of people would have assumed it would involve godwyn is because no one knew what the land of shadow would be. Miquella was thought to be dead but was a part of the dlc so maybe it would have been some sort of godly afterlife? It also felt like itd make more sense to involve two of the most mysterious children from the base game and that stuff was said in the base game that Miquella looked up to godwyn and loved him. It felt like a missed chance
@@GentlemanMudkip If the land of shadow was the afterlife and Godwyn was there, then so would every single named character from the base game. I don't get the ones who disliked it being Radahn, what we got was his husk in the base game. I'm positive that if we got to fight prime Gwyn as a final boss in a dark souls dlc, people would not have been pissed about it.
My headcanon? Malenia simps are malding and seething, the lore implications now being that she was sent to suicide bomb Radahn but could not even do that.
One of the two plans of Miquella was to make the Eclipse happen, resurrecting Godwyn's soul. The Death Knights in the DLC served him. That's why everybody was hoping to see him because not only was there a lot of lore buildup for it but Miquella seemed to have the powers to actually bring the Eclipse now and cure the lands from deathblight.
(There's a scene at the end of the first trailer where Miquella "purifies" the Scadutree or smt like that which is now cut content for some reason.)
If I use maliketh’s greatsword then theoretically I’m killing all these bosses with destined death and they are dying for real.

I like the way FromSoft took the story is because it shows Miquella’s demigod curse was failure. He failed to bring back Godwyn with the eclipse, he failed with the Haligtree, he failed to have Malenia defeat Radahn, and he failed with his final consort plan. Quite an interesting curse for “the most fearsome empyrean”

Yeah, and arguable even at max Ashes, using summons is literally significantly harder. Since your summon dies soo quickly and can't even deal over 5k of damage lol.

4. Perfumer rolling sparks build.
That's the current tier list rn. on how cheesies you can be to ez kill the final boss.

That's not the problem. Shields are a part of the game. The problem is that he cheated 64m. runes.
I used the Scholar Shield spell to buff the Fingerprint Shield for extra damage negation. It helped out..A LOT. 😊

Im sure people said this already but just in case, the reason Godwyn couldnt be the last boss is because of how they wrote the lore. To use the gate of divinity to become a god you must also have the soul of a lord and a vessel for the lord. Ranni intentionally killed Godwyn in such a way that his soul itself would die as part of the process to free herself from her body. And as we see in the game even if they'd used godwyns body as the vessel radahns soul basically overwrites it anyway with only traces of the old form remaining. The best we couldve gotten was maybe a blonde radahn(which we kind of got anyway with miquella on his back looking like a golden mane) who uses death flames instead of bloodflame.

Kai was not using a shield and had to dodge so you can’t compare the two
I played same as Kai (dodging, no summons) and it’s not the same game at all. Kai showed actual fortitude and was so elated. Asmon looked like he just wiped his ass and went on about his day.

Asmon realized that you've got tools to use, and who cares if you get chastised for using a summon mimic. the shields probably more OP than the summon so GJ for winning. he ended up having fun instead of face rolling for 10+ more hours.
Problem is ego, laziness and stubbornness. I personally play for challenge, I wanna proof developer that i have enough iq digits to beat simply A GAME. I enjoy struggling, learning and exercising patience... even if only in game. At the of the day I enjoyed my time and have no reason no to wish same for others. But when arrogant lazy people refuse to put shed of effort I will clown and mock them WITH HAIL IF HARPOONS! WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING!

When it comes down to the acquisition of ancient dragon smithing stones and ancient somber smithing stones, I think they should add a mechanic where you can replay the top 5 hardest bosses in the game (decided by developers) and every time you beat the boss you get 1 of either stone (random) and the boss gets slightly harder with a prestige value so you know the difficulty rating. This adds replay value and a reward to upgrade everything to +10/+25 without making play throughs necessary to get more of those stones.

There's 6 fragments literally right behind the Marika statue across from sunflower boss entrance. You have to do the mother gesture in front of the statue.
reminds me of beating midra on the third attempt thinking that I was tricked by fromsoft and missed the real boss of the side dungeon. I wasn't even using a shield build, I just used the backhand blade and used Blind Spot instead of dodging the easily telegraphed attacks

These games always have so many weapons, but I find one in the early game that I do well with, level it up to +10, and then never try anything else.
I don’t think it’s perfect but it’s still amazing. Personally I think the aggression and speed in a game like blood borne 2 With a faster main character would be so awesome. The dark souls style of rolling combat kinda limits the speed and makes fighting some of the bosses feel harder. Will be really cool to see how they progress from here.

Lol, true, except it's a reversal. In Monster Hunter, blocking is underpowered and I-frames are the superior method. Elden Ring made blocking OP and i-frames the more difficult playstyle.

My issue with Elden ring is I felt so many fights become trivialised with summons but then without are so incredibly challenging. Difficulty just doesn’t hit that sweet spot that dark souls 3 had
Sweetspot for beginners I went from er to ds3 and killed almost every late game boss in a few attempts and the final 3 first try. In my opinion only hard boss is midir.
Going to DS3 after Elden Ring makes it easy af fuck....

Fingerprint shield truly is the easy mode of the game. I don't regret actually learning every other boss with a non-cheese build, but seeing this was almost enough to make me regret the 4-5 hours I spent to kill Radahn without cheese. I think if I want to do more full DLC playthroughs in the future, I might just do a build swap for this one boss lol.

You're also playing like its Souls: locked, block & roll. A lot of those combo chains just need to be unlocked and run away/around. Let alone JUMPING! People only use it for attacking when it's a better evade than rolling for many attacks.
Rellana was the hardest boss for me by far. Aside from Radahn, as a dex build, i virtually flew through all of the bosses between Renalla and the end of the game, even mesmer only took 3 attempts, but i spent hours on Rellana
Yea I did the fight with a heavy Armor and Heavy Great Star with Prayerful Strike on it.
You can basically go full Paladin and Poise through 90% of attacks and heal more than you get damaged.
You feel so damn powerful while face tanking everything and healing more than you recieve.
I love how people are trying to defend Asmon changing his build, yet he's being the biggest hypocrite and going back on everything he's laid into people about before for just GET GUD yet doesn't do so himself lmao.

I spend 7 hours fighting radahn and i cant get through his second phase. 3 respect later and i gave up so I build the poke tank. That took me 1 try
The Patches build goes pretty hard, don't bash people for how they like to play the game, there's no right or wrong way of playing as long as you're enjoying yourself and you still find a sense of achievement at the end then there's no right way of doing things besides your own.

I'll probably cap at 200 when I get around to doing the dlc. Usually capped at 200 in Dark Souls 2, so it's a habit for me.

Had so many "souls" just chillin that he was able to get 78 levels casually in a single click spamming sitting.

As far as Radahn goes, you can actually become a parry god since most of his attacks can be parried.
I got to kill it with light weight, buckler in one hand and rot rapier + misericord in another. You either kill him flawless or just get one shoted. One of the best fight i had in a souls game ever in that setup.
Sadly, it was the only boss in the game that made me change from my dual great curved sword DEX build for that parry ARC build since learning dodge paterns in phase 2 was a slog, and the time you got to punish him with that build was really short in most patern, even worse if he ended in some cycle doing bs strings. At the end i did learn to dodge mostly everything by just dying and dying trying for the perfect parry run, but still i wished it wasnt that bad for the other build.
And so i need to rage about it, the 1 2 cross slice attack that we does is absolutly BS. Extremly hard to dodge, and the first attack of the string is only parryable if you predict the move. Disgusting attack. The only grace it has is that it doesnt one shots you if you get with by either of the single slashes, but it puts you at 20% hp.
100% but this takes actual skill and patience. We are taking about Asmon
I have successfully learned how to dodge all of his attacks, including his mental clone attacks in phase 2 and yet after beating him my only answer to that fucking cross slash is just facetank the second hit and pray the beams miss. I genuinely could not figure out how to dodge it.
