That is an adjustable receiver hitch. You typically see them on the back of a motor home, except they come with a ball mounted to the hitch. They’re normally rated up to 40k lbs. I had one mounted on a motor home and a P2XL, and it made life much better when towing. Love the truck,…sure miss the ones I e had over the years. Glad you didn’t get the Mercedes. Thank you so much! Finally someone has info on the receiver we have since modified it to our needs of course lol and thank you for subscribing! We are currently working on a new video now!
@@adventuresintrucking1995 you’re welcome. Most of those trucks come with a built in receiver. I had my P2XL modified by Sportchassis for that adjustable hitch. They added weight to the rear of the truck, and it gave it a noticeably smoother ride. One thing I also did, was install a glad hand on the rear with a shutoff valve. 1) it gave me air supply to my stacker trailer with an air ride suspension. 2) I used it to air up tires with an air hose that has the glad hand on the end of it. I think I bought that hose at a truck stop, if I’m not mistaken. Your truck is the first that I’ve seen with a mechanical parking foot brake. 2 Maybe 3 weeks old on the tires basically brand new. And when we were looking for this truck we specifically wanted the 8.3l in it. There were plenty of 7.2 Cat and MB on the market but we had to have the Cummins 8.3!

I’m looking to buy one of these very soon and was concerned about the 65’ length law also. How do you have it registered as a tractor with it having a bed on it?
We looked for a long time (a few months). We had to go PA to get this one. What I can say is when you find one 1) be ready to move on it 2) be ready to pick it up wherever it is. This truck went up for sale on a Friday and we bought it on Saturday.
To follow up on what HSS said, for a little $ I know that this truck will outlast any Dually pickup and do more work. I expect it to be a good fit for us.
9:02 That is for a long stick ball hitch extension holder, for manipulating travel trailers in the yard. It usually has a 6 foot or better stick. I was the Shipper for Skyline for a while... :) Did you get that truck from Bert and Patty McKenzie?
Love the M2 but sad to see hydraulic brakes. That removes any chance of adding a semi fifth wheel and pulling a drop deck with air brakes. But this truck will outlast several pickups. How does mpg compare to a pickup?
Definitely will outlast a pick up for sure. We dont ever intend to add a semi fifth wheel to this truck so thats not a loss in eyes. As for hydraulic brakes we wouldve loved airbrakes we searched and searched and we determined that having a Cummins was more important than having air brakes. This truck can however still operate a trailer with airbrakes/air ride because the truck has air on it and can send air to a trailer its just a matter of punching out the accessory plastic and putting in a red trailer supply knob and running lines. it can be done there are kits for it too. As for the mpg we get 8.2-8.5 mpg with 20k on the trailer. and 8.7 with empty trailer and unloaded we saw 11.2 mpg
@@adventuresintrucking1995 One another video you asked about a longer trailer. Diamond C makes a step deck for hot shot ( excuse me Big Shot😉 ), 10 on top and 43 after the drop. But they also have a 44-foot gooseneck in various weight ratings. Excellent milage and that I assume is with the performance tune. If you have plenty of power, you may want to consider putting it back temporarily to standard tune to do a test for a while and then crunch the numbers. Good luck with the oil seals on the trailer axles. You may want to try different seal manufactures or if there is wear where the seal runs on the axle you may need to speedy sleeve it.
BEWARE! The parking brake on the drive-line _WON'T_ stop the truck from moving in marginal traction conditions! One side will spin backwards while the truck will roll forwards! Imagine rain freezing under the truck overnight, on even a slight slope, it will break loose!
Very interesting! These hot shot/big shot trucks are kind of on the quiet side of hauling while, filling an important need. The repetition in this video detracts from the facts. Thank you sir for the tutorial.
Honestly the insurance only went up a couple of hundred bucks… this truck is only 4 years newer than the ram and is considered a class 5 so that may have played a role.. nonetheless it was only a couple hundred more a month
Hell yeah I thought you looked familiar. I worked for one of the contractors out there as an electrician! I hope you're doing great man. Love the truck
No because this truck also pulls a camper and pulls double duty for personal use… so in this particular case it doesn’t because you cant take a semi to campgrounds

Bought it in Eerie PA from a guy who had it posted online and we called and sealed the deal on it
What's the tow capacity on that type of truck?
We’ve had 24k on the trailer and towed it fine FL-Sc so over 30k
@@adventuresintrucking1995what’s the mpg on this type of load
@@robertramos1190 saw like 7.4
I really like this setup ! I have been considering one but wow they like them things 😂 New to your channel. Be safe.
Thanks for the support! We are happy to see our channel growing
Casper the ghost 👻
Very interesting! These hot shot/big shot trucks are kind of on the quiet side of hauling while, filling an important need. There are far more selections and options when specing one of these trucks, it seems. One suggestion; in future videos, please consider using a well edited script. The repetition in this video detracts from the facts. Thank you sir for the tutorial.
Compare insurance on this rig, versus RAM pickup..notice what is on the road for hot shotters..
Honestly the insurance only went up a couple of hundred bucks… this truck is only 4 years newer than the ram and is considered a class 5 so that may have played a role.. nonetheless it was only a couple hundred more a month
A newer SC will most likely increase your insurance a lot more though.
Hey, did you used to work at Lonza???
Used to yea
Hell yeah I thought you looked familiar. I worked for one of the contractors out there as an electrician! I hope you're doing great man. Love the truck
Wouldn''t a double bunk DOT. sleeper make more sense than that backseat?
No because this truck also pulls a camper and pulls double duty for personal use… so in this particular case it doesn’t because you cant take a semi to campgrounds
Hi, how about "Big White" it is a nice truck looking forward to your videos
Not bad… but in a later video of ours we announced that we would go with Tia which is the initials for Aventures in Trucking backwards.
He kno everything about his truck
Receiver hitch isn't it?
Name This Truck Casper The Big Rig the I learned how to Drive Big Truck in our Ford F600 Dump Truck and International loadstar 1700 Flatbed a Buddy of mine had a International loadstar with a Truck Bed Camper Mounted on back as a sleeper you can climb in through the cab or the rear if he's not hooked up to the trailer
Thats pretty cool! We already named the truck Tia which is the initials for Adventures in Trucking backwards
I've heard about big shot when I drove hotshot in the 90's early 2000's..
Kool, i had heard it also, but no one , so far, had made any mention of it. Just wanted to get some feedback from others.
what is the cost? this would do well for me.
The cost of this truck was $117,500. Given current 450/550 and 4500/5500 prices you might as well pay a little more and get way more truck imo.
Ok I see you Big dog!!!
Hey, what up Bruh? Just seeing this comment. We have to get together so I can get that truck down to Mike in FL. Thanks for checking out our video and commenting!
What is the maximum payload you go on that set up?
Originally i said 23k in someone else’s comment but its 21,500.
@@adventuresintrucking1995 21500 is the trailer max load right? How much can the truck pull?
@@robertharrison4257 soo yea... we actually hauled a load probably 3 weeks ago ish that was 24,000 on the trailer. The truck pulled great and the trailer was not bowing or flexing either. So to answer your question... in excess of 30K LOL im not sure on an exact number
Hello from the UK wow what a really sweet ride you got there really nice set up.👍👍
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for the support all the way from the UK!
Nice rig!
Appreciate it! Just trying to make it do what it do!
Very nice
It is a recess hich receiver hook up
I was thinking of getting this instead of 3500 4500 5500 hundred
It's an M2 106, right ? Not an M2 112 ?
Yea a 106 not 12
Tow Hitch That You Can Place On The Rear Of Your Truck And Add A Tow Ball And Pull That Type Of Trailer Instead Of Your Goose Neck Setup Sir .
You’re saying bumper pull commercially instead of 5th wheel? Im not following you sorry.
Read a lot of comments and nothing about the added hitch. That's a receiver for a ball hitch. Should have a channel on the rear to slide into and pin.
Sounds like you have a air leak when you were under the rear of the truck
Sweet ride brother congrats keep it between the ditches stay safe GOD BLESS 🙏
Wassup Tommy, thanks brother. I appreciate you and thanks for your support!
Looks like a pritle hitch adapter
GHOST RIDER
Call it white lightning
Why was it de rated?
Thats just how freightliner does these trucks … its technically a class 7 truck with a GVWR of 36,300 but all they do is change the sticker in the door so that people can use them for RV/personal use and not have to need a CDL to operate it
Got it
White Ghost
"Casper"
How is a hotshot not for hire?
It is for hire….havent taken it off the side of the truck yet at that point of filming…….
