But maybe I would have liked to hear a word about the fact that the build quality of these guitars is very, very poor! I tried out about 8 guitars and they all (!!!) were garbage! Though they really sound nice! I mean. one or two sentences should be possible in a r e v i e w.....
emptypockets11 . They are what they are. I have played all of the cheaper brands out there at this point. I have two repubic guitars and one NRP . While the build quality on these guitars very a lot. They are really the best sounding off all the lesser brands ( with a good set up they can really sing ). Sure there not a NRP but they cost way less. I use my parlor size one for travel all the time and it does the job and I don't have to worry about it so much .
Awesome playing , this should sell a few of these guitars , I've got one now and wouldn't hesitate to buy another or even a couple more , after all , you can never have too many guitars
Yes, check out "Acoustic Guitar Slide Basics" (David Hamburger's course on the fundamentals of acoustic slide guitar) store.acousticguitar.com/products/acoustic-guitar-slide-basics
Great playing David !! very inspiring , I absolutely love my highway 61 , my plan is to buy a second republic , at this point not sure which model . I've got four resonators right now , a Dean that I added a Lace pickup to , a second Dean in the vintage copper finish and a Fender FR 48 , the Republic is hands down the best sounding and build quality of the four.
the tricone at 9:00ish has a surprisingly wood like tone over youtube, was it that similar to a wood guitar in the room? I have a National and a Republic Hwy 61. Both are great guitars.
Down to the crossroads indeed! Anyone know the name of the tune David plays on the "Model 88"? That cool little finger pick number? And maybe the tuning?? I gots to learns that one!
What's the name of the tune when starting to platy the 223 guitar? This guitar was my pick of the littler...since I can't find a Delta Rocket....Anyone selling a guitar....just rattle my cage....
really interesting to hear the different tones of different models... I really liked the 505! which is nice as i just got a very similar 800! well i think it's 800 as i got it 2nd hand... only mildly confused as the 505 is meant to be 14 frets to the body? which is like the 800! still sounds brilliant..
I thought it was funny that in the current owner of republic guitars own quote he says "My dad saw that there was this gap between a $400 piece of junk and a $2,500 guitar" that $400 piece of crap being these chinese made resonators and their notoriously horrible neck joints and quality control. (these cost ~$300-$400 when you buy in bulk) He calls them a piece of junk in his own quote. They're good once you make you're own bolt on neck for them, but the finish on the metal bodies wears quickly, you really are better off getting a used national at that point
Then why do so many people love them? And why do they sound pretty damn good on numerous RUclips videos, including this? They seem to be good value for money when comparing what is available at the price point.
Makes me so happy that reviewers for your magazine can play so well. Please pass this business model along to Guitar World.
Best review of each model I've seen. Most folks talk to much and don't know how to play. Best playing on a review by far!

Let’s bring the manufacturing back to the USA ! Come on Republic ! Have some pride and bring it on home !
Nice idea but what do you think makes them affordable?
Mules and Nationals are 🇺🇸 built!
Born to play. Thanks for all of the jazz/blues licks, and lessons too.
David Hamburger, you rock man. I've enjoyed your videos for years.
That sounded great and you make it look so easy. Wow.
great playing love the last one unplugged amazing lovely
I came to check out the guitars, came back a few times now; just to listen to the pretty/nasty playing, haha. Great playing!!!
Awesome playing , this should sell a few of these guitars , I've got one now and wouldn't hesitate to buy another or even a couple more , after all , you can never have too many guitars
I've studied David's fingerstyle lessons. Does anybody know of he has slide lessons available?

Happy to hear the different models. Hearing about them would have qualified as a review. A great guitarist can make any guitar sound like a dream...
Great guitars, great playing too!

Has anyone here compared Republic guitars against the Gretsch Honey Dipper ? If so , how did they compare ? What are your thoughts on that ?
Hey, I'm really new to the resonator, anyone know what the first song he is playing is called?
Down to the crossroads indeed! Anyone know the name of the tune David plays on the "Model 88"? That cool little finger pick number? And maybe the tuning?? I gots to learns that one!
did you ever find out what that tune is? i really want to learn!
LOL No I didn't. I've still got this one on my radar to try and learn though. So much great stuff out there I can hardly keep up.
"you know your stuff" "whats that?" "you know your stuff"
Good Stuff! Bravo!
What's the song David plays on the 88? Would love to learn! Thanks
Are you using a stomp box David? If so, which one please?
i guess he really liked that cutaway tricone
seems to be popular
I didn't see this model on the website 371?

Hot Dog, that Hamburger sure can play.😮😯😮
Great playing, wonderful guitars, fantastic tunes. Fifteen minutes well spent!
Nice playing, more of a demo than review though.
I bought a “ republic “ guitar. It was soon unplayable as the truss rod is inoperative. It is trash and a waste of money.....

Be advised that the quality of these guitars is crap, and Frank will not take care of you.
Junky piece of shit.
