    I repair these pumps and found out the hard way that you must mark outer end of vane rotor so you put it in the way it came out or vanes will break when you turn pump on, great vid and clear instructions and photography THANX!

    The unit is was special ordered from Clearstream with three vanes that’s why it only does 3 cfm. The four vane models push more because of the four vanes. Very good video very in-depth on the rebuild and how it all works.

    Jeff, I have a GAST 0523 and the rotor that holds the veins actually broke. The veins broke and jammed in the housing and before I could shut the motor off it bound up with pieces of a vein and broke the rotor. Where can I get a 4 vein rotor? Loved the video and explaination how to remove the rotor.

    The ribbed ring that vane rotor presses over is a tolerance ring made by USA. Motor repair shops may have them , or available from Essex Brownell or EIS motor parts suppliers.

    Plate cover nor did the repair kit include one.

    Hello. I have the Clearstream CS-103e version of this pump. Great video, thank you. I have two questions. What is the part number for these bearings and is the fan on the pump end available? I dropped and broke mine…….

    Jeff I have the G213DX that is about 20 years old and never had a problem out it until today. It’s making a terrible noise like bearings are out. This unit is now replaced by G215DX. Where can I buy bearings for the old unit?

      They are probably the same as this unit. I just order from Amazon.

    I have the same model, but without the capacitor on top, and doing a rebuild just like in the video. When I was taking the bearings off, a white plastic piece, in the shape of a cross with two cross sections, with a spring, broke off a black plastic panel that has two wires going to it, a blue and red. There looks to be a jumper to a contact, from the blue to the red, but it isn't continuous. I'm a little confused as what its purpose is, or how it goes back on. I'm assuming it is some sort of switch, given the spring, but electrical is my weakness. Any knowledge of this?

    • @Satatic
      @Satatic  Год назад +2

      That is part of a centrifugal switch. It presses into the plastic disc on the shaft. At low speed it is engaged to allow full amperage to go into the windings. Then after the motor starts, the weights fling out and break contact to drop it down to just a few amps. This happens in a split second. Does the same job as the capacitor. It is probably a SGE-1129 what I would do is take it out and go to a motor repair shop. They probably have one in the back they will just give you. It should have a couple tabs that fit into square holes in the end of the motor case.

    Jeff I started my rebuild of my RV03 the red washer broke in half when removed. Do you have any idea where to get it?
    Or can it be left out?

    • @Satatic
      @Satatic  Год назад +1

      If they break I just leave them out. I would think the rubber gasket in the bearing should be good enough.

    Hi Jeff, do you rebuild, if a client was to send you a Clearstream CS103E6. I believe it's a 3-vane Aerator, GE Motor, dam thing almost unbreakable. I don't really know how hold it is, as I bought the property only 7 yrs ago. For all I know, it could be the original. Septic system installed in 1998. I replaced it with a GAST AT05, as GE doesn't make this 1/4 hp Aerator anymore. If it's economic to rebuild & keep as a spare, that was my intention. Besides the vanes, which I could do myself, I don't have the tools to attempt a bearing replacement. Not sure, how I can contact you privately to discuss.

    Hey Jeff, I've got one of these aerators. The motor turns on and spins just fine but not does not produce any air at all. What would cause this?

    • @Satatic
      @Satatic  Год назад +2

      The vanes are probably crumbled.

      @@Satatic indeed they are. I took it apart and every vane is in small pieces. Is this a common thing to happen? Just general maintenance over the years or am I likely looking at a bigger issue..?

    Would you mind sharing what the specs on the Capacitor are ? Mine was replaced long ago and it now needs a replacement, but the markings on the Cap are gone.

    • @Satatic
      @Satatic  2 года назад +1

      They are 5uf rated but the problem is I have been unable to find an exact replacement. So what I have been doing is getting the 5uf capacitors for ceiling fans. They are small enough to fit under the cover and they seem to work. Add some connectors and a little bit of tape. www.amazon.com/dp/B07BCB98P2/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_1R37SQW6YXPM43KNS925

      Is it? Maybe I need to study up. I just know it needs to be about .0015. I set one at .004 a couple days ago because I forgot the number and it dragged and ran at 4.5 Amps instead of 4. Had to disassemble and push it down a little more.
