@@MXJEFF94 I'm playing golf 30 years and swing driver currently around the 105mph speed, and I know for a fact that the average swing speed is way, way lower than 105mph. Trully thankful for presenting us the data. I assume that Ian might really trying to slow down the speed a bit to represent the so called average speed golfer. But the consistency of the effiency is no joke. Almost found the center of the face every single time, that’s what the average golfer don’t have. In it that might just one of the factor that made the data itself felt like too good to be real for average golfer. But it actually depends on what side of the average golfer Ian want to represent. I have a Darkspeed X fitted by these guys. I (58 yrs old) hit my longest drive of the year Sunday in cool weather - 275 yards. TXG (As a long time viewer I struggle with the Club Champion branding), are the best.

I’ll start by saying I love this channel and watch every video and will continue to do so. However, guys come on! If you hit any modern driver out of anywhere close to the middle, there’s just nothing to choose between them. Maybe 2 yards, what difference does that make? You are still hitting the same club on your next shot. If there was a driver out there that could get you 15 yards further down the fairway that changed your 8 to a 9 iron approach to a green, then yeah.
Ian, you don't resemble the average golfer even when you slow the swing speed down. Every Friday I play in a group of 40 guys. 15 of them are single handicaps. I'm the 2nd to last worse golfer with a 16. Absolutely no one in my group hits a driver 295 yards. If the video featured one of your favorite repeat customers who swings the driver 90 mph then us hackers wouldn't feel so ashamed of our own game. I just replaced this week a Taylormade Stealth 2plus with a Ping G425 Max. Noticeable improvement with tighter dispersion and did gain 5 yards distance. Echoing your comment Ping is a great choice for the average golfer.
As fitters, they know that Ping with the same shaft (tip stiff with a lower balance point) at the same length for all heads swingweights way heavier than the rest. To test it at this length is to not actually do what they do every day in studio.
Excellent vid. Ian might be too good to accurately mimic the "average" golfer based on strike, but I think for a speed 105 comparison is perfectly reasonable. In the end, if you are -5mph or + 5mph from that target, the performance isn't going to vary enough that the results would be invalidated. Additionally, people that are watching the channel, aren't going to be your "average-average" weekend hackers. They are going to be enthusiasts, and likely, higher performers.

I love you guys and have been watching this channel since 25k subscribers, but this test or review or whatever you want to call just doesn't jive. Having a scratch golfer who can swing 115mph and hit the center of the face consistently, dial it down to 105 and hit the center on every strike is not representative of the average golfer. You guys have a massive customer base, I'm sure you guys could have found a 15-18 handicap with a 95-100 swing speed to do this test.
Does the Graphite Design Shaft play soft to flex? S+ rather than true X? It seemed better at this swing speed than Ian's normal speed earlier in season. No left pulls.
Average golfer does not swing 105 nor do we hit 275-yard carry drives. Much closer to 100 mph and 240 carry. Also, most of us do not use a 9 degree loft.
I use 9 degree loft as a 12 hcp and 65y old. It definitely works the best and I still can't get enough rollout. Swing speed around 95mph which is decent for my age. None of my friends the same age hit it nowhere as long as I do, more like 220y total. 105 mph as an average speed is quite funny as I have ready that the average is around 93mph for all golfers.
Agreed that the Callaway AI Smoke Max is a great driver especially with the misses (pity mines is in that tiny tiny area in the heel but that is more down to me rather than the driver)
LOVE you guys and your channel, BUT no way the “average” golfer is 100+ swing speed (unless they either don’t give a crap on where it goes, or whether they actually hit it or not). I’d say a more reasonable “average” would be in the 80-95 range, if we’re talking most guys, mid-handicap. Said golfers are all over the place in accuracy also. I get the point of the video, and like I said, it is well received, but a scratch golfer hitting driver above average, doesn’t do much for the “average” golfer. Lol
Everyone hit this test on the head. This may be stats for the average golfer they fit, but not the true average golfer. Let Ronnie do this test. He would be the very high end of average.
This isn’t about the average golfer they just use that term to categorize the heads. Sorry for the boys in the comments who were gonna buy driver based on this test even though they constantly tell you to get fit.
2000 spin is a toe ball away from a 1400rpm quacker that carries 220. Not sure why Mike would say the AI is the best, that's launch monitor queen numbers. I feel like this video is out of touch of what the average golfer is, and what the average player needs.
Still not sure why you don't test what these drivers do with mishits ONLY. I.e. hit every driver a half inch off the toe, 5 times. Then, hit it off the heel 5 times. THAT data comparison will give a true representation of what a driver is capable of for the average golfer. We've seen plenty of comparisons with centered strikes by now...
Watching you barely swing and just stripe balls right down the middle every single time makes me wonder why you don't do that on course. Would make an interesting comparison.
😂, we joke about that in the studio also. It’s a very experience in the studio versus the course, especially for someone like myself that is so used to hitting balls inside. Other golfers aren’t as comfortable indoors.
People complain about not seeing #golfers like them in tests. They dont understand how long this video would take to get a number of quality shots. Im not watching a video of a bunch of hooks and slices. If i want to see that, I'd play a round with some friends. The average golfer would take 2 days to do this video. But they wont admit it because they not completely honest about their game.
Good Video boys !!! but I think for the very first time I found the comments more entertaining than the video , people arguing about what a average swing speed is !!!
I play with 40 guys between the ages of 45 and 70 every week. I have the fastest swing at 105 / 150 ball speed. Get real guys. Old people are the average.
Once again.... stay in your lane people. 100-105 is what us Professional fitters see day in, and day out. Why do people question everything these days?? Are you bored? Read a book. 🎉😊

@@ianfrasergolf😆 it feels foreign hitting inside
@@funmachine3 unfortunately for me the golf course is what feels foreign these days for myself.
@@ianfrasergolfso jealous of that super smooth, effortless swing. I know you’re chipping them but it looks like butter and they’re going decently far
Those are not the drives of an average golfer! 🤣
Hard for him to dial it back when he smashes balls.
Personally I’m 100-105.
Trackman is not outdated data, trackman data shows ~7 percent of men are over 105. 😂
Damn sensitive are we 😂
Hi all the wee below average golfers arguing facts cos they can’t swing it average speeds 🥴 Keep up with the times guys and gals
Once again.... stay in your lane people.
100-105 is what us Professional fitters see day in, and day out.
Why do people question everything these days?? Are you bored?
Read a book. 🎉😊
Whatever pal, that is not the average golfer. Average golfers also don’t go to CC and spend 1500 bucks on a driver either. So don’t say this is an average golfer test say it’s a dummy throwing his money away test.
