Can't beat that S&W SD9 2.0. Love mine. Just wish mags were cheaper. Accuracy and reliability have been great. Searched online for literally hours before I could find anyone having an issue with their SD9 (apart from some slides not locking back on last round, mag issue).
@@PhillipTate-v9n I haven't decided what level of upgrade I want to do yet. I recently got the pistol from my father, it was his gun. @@whelper4231 I have gone through the Apex trigger upgrade kit on my SD40VE. IMO, using all the springs makes the trigger too light. During the install process I was able to keep the over travel to an absolute minimum with a rather special file, it's called a "Breaker Points" file. You should be able to find one at O'Riley's or Autozone. They are pretty cheap. I did the install and filing on the trigger in an evening. I took that long because I wanted the absolute least over travel with reliable operation. I'd add my 2 cents worth and say that the Taurus G3 series has very good sites. That is important to me. Maybe not for those looking to put the wiz bang optical piece on the top of the slide, but that is another chapter.
All good choices. I like the Security 9, but its interchangeble w/the SD9 IMO, both are great choices, but you do get 1 more mag w/the Ruger. Tuarus G-series are all solid and you can dry fire them like you do a revolver. I have the G2C and G3 and I love that the mags are compatible, and that you can also buy the extended "stick" mags from promag. I think all in w/the mags I paid under $600 and they work! I think APX simply gets overlooked, I'm equally guilty of that until recently. I guess what turned me off is the low capacity, only getting 1 mag and its a bulky. Recently though, I looked further into them after seeing them for as low at $239 and I saw 10-rnd factory mags go for $20 online and considering they've got a $50 rebate right now I could have a Beretta-quality ccw w/a few extra mags for under $350 that's a great deal! The Taurus G39C, was a very impressive gun. I bought one on sale for $189 just to see. After a 1000 rounds, no cleaning, it functioned 100% of the time. The trigger isn't greatest trigger in the world, but it was not that bad. I could shoot it out to 25 yards all day long. The only thing I didn't like what the mags are extremely hard to load. However a Glock speed loader worked perfectly on them. I ended up gifting it to someone, as I normally carry and train with a Glock.
I have a Canik TP9 SFX and I love that gun! Very ergonomic and good looking. Amazing trigger with a very short reset! Plus, it comes with a lot of extras from the factory at a very reasonable price!
G-Force Arms has their GF9 which is Turkish made Glock 19 clone but uses their own magazine, and the mag is a Beretta clone. $249.00 online from Rural King
I agree with the list. The only downside with the 1st choice is the Smith and Wesson. New magazines are about 40 bucks a pull and it only comes with 1 magazine. The PSA uses Glock magazines and those are easier and cheaper to come by.
For me I used to love revolver and metal guns , but moved to Puerto Rico and parts take a long time to get here , and rust is a big problem ! So I went Glock and bought spare parts and now I don’t have to take the gun out everyday to maintain , so that it doesn’t rust
I agree with what you said about the PSA Dagger. You can get all the upgrades that the Gucci Glocks or clones have and 10 mags and nice range bag on sale for $399 or less. But another up and comer I have been testing is the G Force gen 3 Glock clone that is as good or nicer then a stock Glock and so far is as reliable as a Glock and was on sale for $249.99!!!! That’s right it’s crazy what is happening since the gen 3 pat have expired. Now we should give Glock the credit that they invented a design that is simple & bullet proof. That being said it’s time for Glock to offer a bunch more for what they want for a Glock these days. If not they will fall behind and loose value when you can get more for $249.99 to $450.00. Shoot the sig p320 wouldn’t be the dangerous gun it is if they would have stayed with a more Glock like system like they did with the p365. FYI G Force is one of the firearms clones we are seeing out of Turkey that honestly many are as good or better as the brands they are cloning. I have a Turkish clone of a beretta 92 and I actually like it better than my beretta. Lol.
Technically h&k developed the first marketable polymer-based 9 mm handgun in the 1970s back in the 1950s Remington produced the nylon 66 series of 22 caliber rifles which were excellent
I thought this was going to be a video about Glock clones (Bul Armory, Palmetto State Armory, Lone Wolf, etc). This is really more a video of budget options for Striker fired polymer guns.
Yank- you forgot the Hi Point 380. I just seen them on sale at Rural King. $129- brand new ! Even after tax, an extra mag, a box of ammo and a cheap holster, you would have right at $200 in everything.
I know that Hi Points work better than they have a right to, but I don't think most people consider them as Glock alternatives; they're seen more as blunt object alternatives.
@@elliri3012 Roger that ! I was semi-joking. But in all honestly, I've had great luck with the several HP's I've owned over the years. I currently own 3- 2 C9's and a JHP 45. I've discovered that they feed the best with FMJ round nose,(except the 380 pistols. They feed hollow points very reliablely and do the best with premium HP's)ammo that is not loaded weak. And brass cased ammo has worked the best for me. Also, if you download their mags 1 round, they chamber the first round much smoother. These pistols are also very accurate due to their fixed barrels- and can be set to point of aim because they have adjustable sights. And, I must add, The company has the BEST customer service in the business ! One phone call and they will send you any parts you need to repair your gun. For free. And usually within just a few days (many times they even send extras). Or, if you are not comfortable working on it yourself, they will gladly fix it for you, no matter the problem, no matter if you are the first owner, or the 100th. Even if your dog chews on it ! Or you purposely destroy it ! No other company I've ever dealt with has a warranty this good. Am I recommending everyone just use a HP ? No. Not really. But - for a single parent, an older person on a very low fixed income, hell, anyone working their ass off and just getting by, a HP is definitely an option. I can pick them up used in my area for $50--$100. Not everyone can afford $250-$350 for a gun. But $50-$100, with free repair parts gladly offered by HP, can at least put a handgun in a struggling person's reach. An accurate, reliable handgun, even loaded with FMJ , that anyone can afford, is much better than a baseball bat. I do sometimes use my HP's for truck and fishing guns. And I do own several name brand guns. My HP's have never rusted up on me. But my brand new Glock 43 did, after only less than a month of being my field/fishing pistol a couple of years ago. And I gave the Glock more care than the HP's. Anyway, didn't aim to rant. I guess I've always liked the underdogs. I've discovered many of them are much better than a lot of people think they are.
Hey Yankee, I'd have thought you might choose the Canik TP9DA over the SF as it has the original de-cocker feature like the old P99. Tho I'm not sure if the DA is still being manufactured.
I’m sure all are reliable at a great price point. What’s the longevity after thousands & thousands of rounds? I’ll stick to my Glocks but I won’t knock these either, especially like you said the guy uses for home defense and the range a few times ? They work.
There is nothing you said in this video that I don't agree with. But I own so many Glocks already I can't undo it but I am going to purchase Smith & Wesson and the PSA dagger. There's so many expensive and they take all my glock mags so I'm ok I'll be fine. The last Glock I purchased was a 19x I will never purchase another Glock again.
Very interested in physically seeing the new Tisas PX9 gen 3 night stalker duty non threaded barrel they have it in a Combat model also with a threaded barrel it seems to be well made has very good reviews so far and it comes with night sights and a 18 and 20 round magazine for around 350 the gray finish looks very nice the trigger and trigger reset is pretty good stock supposedly it's like a cross of a Walther P99 Glock 19 or 19X and H&K VP9 kind of Canik looking

Lol.
It's Thanksgiving already ?
A Glock G19 clone is a GForce Exodus RPX9. Picked one up for $246.00.
A CZ P10C for low 300s is a better deal than anything mentioned in this video!!
Technically h&k developed the first marketable polymer-based 9 mm handgun in the 1970s back in the 1950s Remington produced the nylon 66 series of 22 caliber rifles which were excellent
Its not only the average person likes striker fired polymer handguns its law enforcement and Militaries around the world and Glock clearly dominates
I love my SR9c, got it for 400. Trigger is amazing.
Great video!
There are several very good internal hammer fired pistols that came ouy the last couple of years
The fact you don't have the CZ P-10 linon here is crazy, literally as reliable and accurate as glock at an intentionally lower price than glock.
No plastic gun should cost more than $299.99
There not plastic guns fool , they are by weight 80% steel and the receiver which is plastic is reinforced with metal parts.
I would have on that list the Stoeger STR-9.
Where is the CZ p10
I thought this was going to be a video about Glock clones (Bul Armory, Palmetto State Armory, Lone Wolf, etc). This is really more a video of budget options for Striker fired polymer guns.
Hey Yankee, what about CZ?
SAR has a really nice line up.
Hey Yankee, I'd have thought you might choose the Canik TP9DA over the SF as it has the original de-cocker feature like the old P99. Tho I'm not sure if the DA is still being manufactured.
What about the CZ P10c? I have one and like it quite a lot?
Good info, thanks.
Question: Is the PSA really made in the USA or a rebranded import?
I’m sure all are reliable at a great price point. What’s the longevity after thousands & thousands of rounds? I’ll stick to my Glocks but I won’t knock these either, especially like you said the guy uses for home defense and the range a few times ? They work.
There is nothing you said in this video that I don't agree with. But I own so many Glocks already I can't undo it but I am going to purchase Smith & Wesson and the PSA dagger. There's so many expensive and they take all my glock mags so I'm ok I'll be fine. The last Glock I purchased was a 19x I will never purchase another Glock again.
If either of the Mossberg pistols aren't on here, you are out of your mind.
And another great video 👍😎👍
US Vets, honorably discharged can buy at Blue Label Prices from a Blue Label Glock Dealer. 43X 9mm for $358. In NE Florida.
Good choices but CZ and XD should make the list. Maybe do a top ten?
I heard that most of these guns will soon be available at your local Harbor Freight.
I'm curious, with how proven the glock is and how popular the aftermarket is, why isn't there an aftermarket steel glock frame?
The same thing is happening in the AR-15 market as well. I think the last time I checked the cheapest AR -15 out there is $349.00 to $400.00 just be sure to research well before you buy.
No BUL armory? They are $399 usually and $349 right now. Also, CZ P10 should be on here...but its a great list.
It’s odd how it’s always: “what is the alternative to Glock?”
I thought #1 would have been lawn darts.
Don't forget PSA takes Glock parts!
High point. Case. Closed.
So many fun choices...😂
Why don’t you like Striker Fired guns?
Never a Glock but an XD, all day, every day.
I thought glock was the budget gun. I can't imagine thinking it's better than anything else.
Psa... all the way.
First again
Cheater! The video came out 15 minutes ago, and you commented 6 hours ago. 😤
I dont like the trigger on the dagger line. I had 2 of them.
Yeah, Block was my grandpa's favor gun. He died like 40 yrs ago. 😂
Blocks weren't available forty years ago they weren't allowed into the country till 1986 that's 38 years ago
@@jamesjohnson4163
May 1986 to be more precise.
+1 Someone actually finally got it correct and knows what they are talking about. My buddy has a May '86 G-17 that is beat to death. You always read people on here "yeah, I had one since the early 80s...yeah yeah!" Um, no you didn't! They were only available to the Austrian Military in 1982 when they first came out.
@@jamesjohnson4163
Likely got 1982 confused with 2002 as well....but that's beside the point. While they did come out in 1986 nobody really started buying them until the early 90s. I didn't trust them at first either and didn't get to shoot one until 1990. I never even saw one or knew about them until that same year. I didn't actually buy one until 1993 then it was one after another after that. Back in the 80s Beretta 92 series and Sig Sauer P-228/P-226, HK P7M8/M13, CZ-75s, Browning Hi-Powers, S&W 5906s etc etc were much more popular and common.
I have think cannik should be higher
Are you standing behind a banking window, at Bank of America. What are the two white circles at 3 and 9 o clock?
he would probably rather die than mention arex 😂😂
the BRG 9 an XD clone
Only one comment after an hour? Something fishy is going on!
You commented a few hours before this vid dropped on RUclips. 😋
What’s wrong with turkey?
General lack of human rights, Armenians and Kurds (you have to google that yourself).
Yes, striker fired guns suck. Throw your G19 in the dumpster and get a P07 or P01. Your dong will thank you
If it starts talking to you, don't listen to it! You don't want the stuff it spouts going in your ear! 😅
CZ's are pretty good though. I myself have the PCR model. Solid and dependable. 😁
