@@apaiva788 I am even considering the new 9mm 3" version for cheap practice. It's a little bit more heavier, but the difference in ammo price is conciderable
Because I expend so many rounds from 1911s, my EDC is a smaller ALMOST 1911, the Kimber Micro-9. Stainless with blue-toned G10 grips and 2 extra mags, of course.
I carry a 4.75 inch Cimarron 1873 SAA (Evil Roy Edition) in.357, or a S&W 686 SSR, that being a 4.2 inch barrel and .357 chambering. Beware the crusty old man with a wheel gun! Both have light springs and action jobs. I am faster with the SAA, a bit slow to reload though, lol.
I’ll bet if I sent a pic of my Colt Python instead of a 9mm Glock, you wouldn’t have cared which way the picture was taken! 😉 Thanks for the fun video!
I like the diversity you’ve published in this part one presentation. I’m curious if you had to leave the 15 thousand Glocks pics on the editing room floor.
Being 74 year old male I had a FFL for guns that were 50 Years old and bought from a Guns International. The Italian Beretta Model 70s all in 22,32, 380 - they make some of the best Pistols ever made. I carried the S&W Bodyguard for years in the ankle holster. When I was unsure of a gun fight I carried the S&W 1911 for years. If I know a gun fight may happen I always use the Browning 5 with the 18 inch barrel loaded with size 4 buckshot.
Damn! I missed the boat on sharing day! @TheYankeeMarshal I’m disappointed you didn’t accept the invite for the 4th BBQ I had thrown your way. Then again, you probably wouldn’t have truly enjoyed the meaning of freedom, knowing my invite came from California😅.

I usually carry a Block or S&W, but I have in my rotation a Walther P4, which I carried today, and sometimes my Beretta 950 when I'm just wearing shorts. Those are two I would have sent the Yankee.
Darn, I would have loved to sent pictures of my carry rotation but I work on the weekends so I missed the live stream so I miss the prompt. Maybe next time 🙂
I have a question not related to this video and maybe someone has the answer to this question. The question is why have 9mm 1911s and 2011s taken off like they have yet the browning hi power who ch is a 9mm double stack designed by JMB not seen the same success? It seems as though it might’ve been a easier platform to convert into what the 2011 has become.
Well, I don't know who's making em in the variety of quality we see in the 1911 frame, for one, I was looking at Turkish ones a while back kinda for budget reasons, and the FN version is really expensive, (I like em for being slim like I like CZs, but the thing there is by the time your budget gets a little bigger you can *have* a CZ, and that's a more suitable design for carry and other stuff, and there's probably always a nicer Wondernine to have for any given person. As for 1911s I imagine it's the customizability and them being iconic. (I have a 1911 (in .45) just cause it came available, is acceptable for my old-school-ness and I know I perform OK with em. :) In 9mm I wouldn't be inclined to prefer them unless the only alternative was 'Glockey' striker-fired.
1) Originally, Greater Popularity of the Platform. 2) Greater Availability of Interchangeable Parts. 3) More Aftermarket Manufacturers Already Geared-Up For Mass Production of Parts, leading to Complete Firearms Production. (All 3 are related to Initial Popularity) ...Same reason there are so many 'Gucci' Glocks, and Glock 'Clone' Manufacturers now that the Glock Patents have expired.
Probably marketing. I never heard of that first one but I did like 1911’s and 9mm makes them shoot smoother. Once I saw 2011’s had more capacity and the same cool look I bought 2.
The 1911 is “America’s Handgun” in the same way that the AR-15 is “America’s Rifle”; it is the most heavily produced semiautomatic pistol in history largely due to its popularity within the largest market by far in the world. Outside of the US, with the exception of the Philippines, the M1911 isn’t particularly well known nor popular, but since Americans own 40% of the small arms in the entire world, well… People here just don’t know about the Hi-Power. Years ago I ran across a commercial MkIII at a local gun shop, and it was a revelation. It was too expensive for me at the time but I resolved that if I ever got a 9mm - I didn’t have one then and wouldn’t for years - it would have to be a Hi-Power. I finally did that two years ago in the form of a Girsan MC P35, and I love it. To me, in terms of balance, feel, the Hi-Power is practically perfect, what a semiautomatic pistol really should be. Yet when I tell fellow shooters that I have a Hi-Power clone, they usually don’t have any idea what I’m talking about. The most widely used military sidearm in history - 90 countries around the globe! - and most Americans have never even heard of it!! Those who know, know. Lots of people here in the US just don’t know. That’s all I can say.
