It depends on the acid and what you’re trying to dissolve. Gold won’t dissolve in most acids, but will dissolve in aqua regia, a mix of hydrochloric and nitric acids. Sometimes, seeds have to survive passing through an animal’s GI system to be transported to new areas, hence their tough coats. A chemist could explain why this is, but my chemistry classes were years ago.
With the humans glowing thing, i love telling people about that at work, where I'm an x-ray tech. I have a small light built into the machine that helps me aim it, and if the room lights are on i can't see the small light. "Alright, I'm going to have the big light off so I can aim my camera. I have a little light here that helps me aim it, and kind of like me, it's not terribly bright." I then bring up this fact, plus the being too dim to see, and say, "so by that measure, none of us are very bright..." I get a some good laughs from that

Hiya Mike! I was bitten by a Lone Star Tick and the effect was not just inconvenient, but incredibly painful. Any time I ate beef or pork [except, for no good reason, bacon!?] I would feel intense pain stabbing thro my stomach. It was like hot rebar shoved through my ribs and then sawing back and forth, just horrible. My doctor never found the cause of the pain, but did recommend not having red meat if it was suddenly not tolerable for my body. It took my body 10 years to regain a capacity to have beef, but I am now vegetarian [NOT Vegan, I love cheese and butter, thank you very much] so I don't have to suffer if the effect suddenly returns. And yes, on rare occasions I had a small bit of steak and discovered it was a crap shoot, because the pain just might happen despite how long it has been, and I always forgot about the whole thing before remembering why I was bedridden in pain and having some indescribable TMI restroom moments the next day. Uh, I do not recommend this to anyone! Be careful! Oh and another thing happened with that tick, but it's too disgusting and frightfully gross [it was on my back by my left hip, so's you all know] so I'll spare you details...
Your writers have started adding teasers which are unnecessary and detract from the presentation. Teasers like this are only needed when you have a voice over or when the host is not engaging. You never saw J.K. Rowling saying after chapter 3 of Deathly Hollows, "if you thought this was suspenseful, wait until chapter 20." Mike is a fun host. He is very engaging. You do not need to add a teaser to get us to finish watching the video. (Though it might get us to turn it off out of sheer frustration with the overuse of teasers).
