  • Twenty-five years ago, the families of the 27 victims killed in the Jarrell, Texas, tornado were planning funerals and figuring out where their loved ones were going to be laid to rest.
Three families ended up together at Odd Fellows Cemetery, a historic cemetery that first opened in the early 1900s in the neighboring city of Georgetown.

I'm sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how hard that must be with a parent especially. I've lost family members as well, though mainly grandparents, and I do know how difficult it can be to watch someone close to you struggle with illness. May your mother rest in peace. Still, I think it's incredible you have so many family members resting in the same cemetery, your family must have been in Georgetown for quite a while! I've been there myself, it's a beautiful Texas town.

She seems extremely disingenuous, which bothers me. I understand that news reporters have to present themselves in a professional manner in front of the camera but this lady doesn't seem to know when to just be herself in a video this sad. I think when a news reporter can deliver a story while maintaining their sense of being present and showing their humanity in situations like this is really important. I don't like the vibe this lady has, they should have picked someone else to do the story. Maybe she's better suited for regular everyday news stories
I was a little kid living in Austin when this tornado hit Jarrell. It affected us all, I still feel a deep sadness remembering that day.
To remember the 27 people, 3 whole families lost...it's truly heart wrenching.

Their memorial still stands in Jarrell. It strikes fear to those who remember that day.

There were areas where you couldn't call what the tornado did as damage. It wasn't just complete devastation but complete desolation.
