Yes I have lived in Missouri & Illinois tornado's are scary I have been in a few of them , most times those that come at night you don't see how bad the damage is until day light the next day.

The National Weather Service has been recording tornadoes since 1950. They are nothing new. Every month has a chance of tornadoes. Extreme weather has ALWAYS happened throughout history. Even before humans existed.

I live in southern Missouri, Friday morning it was very warm & humid with a cold front coming in which is the perfect recipe for tornadoes. I knew we were in for some tornadoes, didn't know it would be this many tornadoes though!

My heart goes out to those people in Kentucky. Cuz I can tell you this much right now it was a total tragedy that all this happened. Most likely a travesty. I don't know because I lived through a hurricane in 1969. It was hurricane Camille and it hit the Hampton roads area of virginia. I'll tell you what these people will never forget this. Because this reminds me of a tornado actually reminds me of the hurricane hurricane Camille in 1969 for people who remember it very well. I know I do because I can tell you what it's not fun living through something like that. But a tornado I don't think anybody going to live through it. When cars and trucks are picked up and thrown like well get the idea! But what I'd like to say is my heart goes out to those people who were killed and that accident or shall we say in that tornado. I think we'll all learn a lesson from this. Before tornado or any type of weather situation comes into effect if everybody has a cell phone we should all get an alert like that warning us that type of situation. But since the warning came too little and too late in Kentucky this is what happens. That's why the cell carriers including the one I use T-Mobile need to start revamping their cell sites to make sure that they're up and running it's a hurricane or a tornado hit. Because I can tell you this much right now it's no fun losing a loved one in a hurricane or a tornado. Because in some cases tornadoes are deadly.
I haven't had any dreams I remembered in a couple years but the day before this happened I had a nightmare and I was surrounded by tornadoes and I kept ending up in different places that I haven't seen before

I was very blessed and lucky the tornado missed me by less than a mile. It's a scary feeling knowing that there is nothing you can do but pray and hope that u survive. I can't fight a tornado I can't defend myself evenly no one can. I wish there was something more I could do but I can't. But I am volunteering and helping out to bring back my hometown and help as much as possible.

Z, that is crazy! They are saying that they're winds reached 155 mph. And the tornado was three-quarters of a mile wide. But then I think about it, and a standard category 5 hurricane has the wind speeds equivalent to this tornado. And it is 300 or 400 miles wide. Puts things in perspective with hurricanes.

Sending prayers. I know I'm going to get backlash but they were warned about this event earlier this week and all day yesterday. We need to stop brushing things off and acting as if nothing can happen to us. It's sad and unfortunate but this event was compared to the tornado outbreak in 2011. It destroyed my city and I knew close friends and coworkers that died from it. One thing for sure and 2 things for certain, many lost their lives because they did not take heed of the warning. Hopefully this will open some eyes!!!

It was probably due to sudden temperature change, not climate change. It was 5°c in parts of Northern Arkansas/Southern Missouri about 4 days ago, where-as it jumped to about 23°c humid in a matter of days. That's a perfect recipe for a tornado. Plus, winter tornados have happened for hundreds of years. I highly doubt this was due to climate change
