This is probably the only video where I actually feel like I'm the one recording. You show the gloomy vibes so well, every single part made me so uneasy. Amazing work!!
Seriously WELL DONE! You have huge talent! Keep at it! The entity reveal was terrifying. The jump cuts was a little too much at the start, but got much better later on. After the Explorer escaped the Entity, that room with the music and the big huge pillars looked amazing. Loved the different environment looks the Explorer entered. Can't wait for more!
Love how the depth perception is more warped so the direction of the found footage is truly unknown. I can't even tell the true scale of the environment, despite a slight sense of scale being present. A new take on the starting area is interesting as well with orange-tinted lights, and reflective black ceiling tiles. Definitely sets the tone for this found footage very well. Amazing work, keep it up!
I am so impressed with your skills! I love this video, and today is the first time I've seen your channel and this early work of yours. I liked and subscribed and look forward to your future projects!
Well done for an initial offering, though I am not sure how much of it was via accident rather than intention. First of all, the good: Using darkness to mask the rendering inaccuracies is quite nice. The chromatic aberration is nice, the tape dirt is subtle enough to not be distraction and the camera shake is beautifully balanced with the intensity of the camera movement. The ambiance and voice acting is very good too. No absurd coughing, steps and breathing sounds matching the footage. However there is a lot of bad too: For some reason your pop ceilings were metallic and reflective in the first two rooms when they should not be at all... The fisheye effect is a bit too heavy. But it would be alright if it wasn't for the EGREGIOUS scale misstakes happening here. The camera is way too low. It seems like it scratches the baseboards in the first section and changes heights arbitrarily at several points such as between 5:07 and 5:15 (above/below doorhandle). Other objects also aren't to scale even if I assume the camera is at 80cm height, such as the car. The door chase jumpcut at 4:28 was a bit silly. As was the self opening door at 5:12. I understand there isn't a good solution, but please either commit to animating arms or avoid doors. Kane introduced ledges and null zones (floor boards/section changes) as convenient outs here. Also, using the darkness has the downside of highlighting lighting differences, or in this case the absence of them. Fluorescent ceiling panels don't have perfectly even lighting (LED panels are too modern). To hide this other producers have the cameras overexpose them. But this only works in the rooms with a lot of light (such as the car room). The chromatic aberration is not enough. And its odd to only have dark spots on the floor in the very first room, with all other rooms being evenly lit. Finally, the switch from abiance to piano music was nice, but please do it by using a directional sound source. It would boost the realism and scaryness by an INCREDIBLY degree. Opinion / Tips: Actual camera footage isn't 60fps and it wouldn't be a great quality loss to reduce it here too match. Less frames are less time spent rendering, so I'd encourage you to try that. The fisheye lens + darkness look is quite interesting and adds spookiness innately. Keep it. Personally I am more focussed on the architecture and sense of scale and dislike chases, but stay true to your vision here. Thank you for the video!
Thanks for your comment. And of course, the animation has many errors, because I don't know blender in its entirety, I did what I could, and I will improve it, thank you very much!
I agree on this. It was superb but I think the fish-eye effect made the guy feel a bit too small. Compared to the car at least. However if it was intentional it was great in the way that it made the backrooms feel gigantic.
@closed_doorzz - Maybe you should do a poll about whether to keep the fish eye effect or not. Personally, I could so without it, but either way, this is really well done! 👍
The only critique I have is regarding the jump cuts. I know it’s to hide the different renders, but it takes away so much of the immersion you have going. It stops the pacing… You want to slowly build to a crescendo, or even throw a fake out in there and build the tension so thick you can cut it with a knife before the pay off. The later transitions in the “large cylinder room”, are much better at pulling us in. The reveal going into there from a slow, steady build up would be insane. Well done on the rest.
@@closed_doorzz I'd love to see your design in the gaming or possibly film industry, there is a lot of opportunities for you, have you thought about doing this for a living?

I agree on the fish eye effect, it seems unnecessary, it takes away from the quality of the work, which is impressive in itself. The room of the columns with Chopin playing in the background seemed extraordinary to me. Please don't introduce screaming monsters chasing explorers, keep that atmosphere of desolation and mystery, that's backrooms perfection
