  • Kingston Lisle is a small village located in the Vale of White Horse district of Oxfordshire, England. The village has a long and rich history dating back to the Anglo-Saxon period.
    The name "Kingston" is derived from the Old English words "cyning" (king) and "tun" (settlement), while "Lisle" is believed to have been added later as a reference to the de Lisle family, who held the manor during the Middle Ages.
    During the Norman Conquest, Kingston Lisle was granted to William FitzOsbern, who was a close confidant of William the Conqueror. The village was then passed down to various noble families, including the de Lisle family and the Seymours.
    In the 18th century, Kingston Lisle became part of the Faringdon estate, owned by the Pye family. The Pye family made significant improvements to the village, including the construction of a new manor house and the rebuilding of the village church.
    Today, Kingston Lisle remains a small, picturesque village with a population of around 150 people. It is known for its beautiful countryside and historic buildings, including the church of St. John the Baptist, which dates back to the 13th century.

      The trick is to become radical in your worldviews and solutions to the demographic challenges we have. This isn't an invasion. This is being done on purpose by people of our own ethnic group (traitors) who are working for the benefit of a global capitalist system. Target those two things with a truly radical worldview/ideology and maybe we can begin to talk about effective solutions.

    I've spent huge amounts of time in the UK over 4 decades and I'm always amazed at the amount of birdsong there. You can hear it in this video, too. Definitely not the case in my green and relatively uncrowded area 25 miles from NYC. Also, for me anyway, nothing beats the beautiful varied architecture of England's houses.

    Kingston Lisle was certainly a lovely village to grow up in! I remember when the woods were open (now behind lock & key thanks to a new landowner)! And we can run and play for many hours. We had a little shop close to the pub also but alas that closed many years ago. There used to be a weekly bus to the nearest town (Wantage) but that stopped also. There isn’t anything there now, even the pub is closing down to be turned into housing. My parents still live at the end of the village near the cemetery

    So many commenters either not understanding or unappreciative of the quiet! I live in a rural-ish village in southern Ontario, Canada and absolutely love the quiet times of the day, when all you can hear are the sounds of nature. I'm lucky enough to live back about 30m from the road, as well. Sadly, this rural village, like so many others, is being bought up and built on. I now have a brand new, grotesque house with a 3 car garage as my view from the front windows. Used to be a hill with lovely mature trees. Sigh. I'm very glad your video was recommended by YT, Kevin. I've just subscribed and am looking forward to more peaceful walks with you.

    Глядя на эту восхитительную красоту архитектуры и пейзажов, внутри есть стойкое чувство, что я жил там в прошлой жизни. И мне это так все дорого и близко. Это мой идеал.

    Oh, Kevin me lad, I love this video. I lived in England from '63 to '66 and this brings back some great memories of a time in my youth. I was 11 to 13 years old and lived in Bedford. My father was a US Air Force serviceman. We were stationed at RAF Chicksands and I loved every second I was in England. You have a new subscriber (and I have maybe 3 people I subscribe to. Very picky I am.) Cheers from North Carolina, USA !!

    I feel so lucky to be English when I see all these comments. I grew up in rural Essex, and even now I live in a town with thatched cottages and an ancient church. We take it all for granted as its all we know but now I'll appreciate it a bit more now when I look at what's around me!

    Sometimes I wonder, Is it always quiet? In Belgium a lot of farmers build a temporary tent to give a very loud party with the admission of the local authority. Sometimes until 4 a.m. you can hear loud bass noises. Also a new trend: a summer bar with many people and loud music in rural places. I associate party and noise with a city but not in rural places. Greetings from Belgium.

      Depends where you go. For such a small country the UK does have a lot of variation. Some places are very noisy most of the time, particularly the crowded areas, where there is lots of traffic, and people stay up until the early hours of the morning partying or whatever. Then there's isolated places like this which I'm keen on. I live on a boat which would be peaceful if the marina wasn't next to a busy road. Sometimes I like to take myself out down the river and find a quiet spot for a few days, away from houses and towns. It's utter bliss

    • @Tintoycar
      @Tintoycar 10 месяцев назад

      @@Englishsea24 Can you say the country side is quiet in the UK, or do you also have party's with tents? Have a nice day.

    • @Englishsea24
      @Englishsea24 10 месяцев назад

      @@Tintoycar The countryside is generally quiet, and yes sometimes people do like camping in tents and having group camps, but places like this are sadly disappearing fast since the country is getting an enormous influx of people from all over, so they keep building more and more houses over green areas. Small quiet villages are turning into towns and towns turning into cities. The local authorities and the government take no notice when the locals object to it. It is getting more crowded. Like the Netherlands we are also losing farmland and having to import more food. The only chance I have of peace is living on a boat and being able to move when I like, I love that freedom.

    Fascinating! The calm and sedate ambience, the natural green setting and the old stately buildings transport you to another age. The misty, wet weather is similar to that of Darjeeling (India) in May/June. No wonder the British love the sun so much! The only things missing are people. The place seems to have so many stories to tell and one gets the urge to knock on one of the doors and say hello and ask how were things! Great video!

    What a beautiful village! I can imagine how peaceful it must be to take an early morning walk there. It's fascinating to learn about its rich history dating back to the Anglo-Saxon period and its connections to various noble families throughout the centuries. The Pye family's contributions in the 18th century certainly added to the charm of the village. Thank you for sharing this lovely glimpse into Kingston Lisle.
