I had the pleasure of knowing Jack Palmer when he was the orchestra leader at Bruno's Beach House in Sylvan Beach, NY in the mid 1970s. I was the chef at the Beach House and anyone who knew Jack knew that he loved to eat so we got along very well! He was one of the nicest men I have ever met, always had a big smile and a kind word for everyone he encountered. He was also a humble man; although I knew Jack for about three years until I left Sylvan Beach in 1978, it was only after he passed away that I learned about his association with Sinatra and the Big Band orchestras. He was a very accomplished musician, it turned out, but he never boasted about any of it. R.I.P. Jack Palmer.

I had the pleasure to know Jack and always loved to play with him. Such a nice guy. I marveled at the umbilical hernia he earned by his powerful chops. I had him over for dinner, and I had a 110 pound black lab, I'll never forget it! I had to lock my dog up, "I get a tickle in my throat when I see a dog" he said. Didn't like dogs at all. I wish I could post a picture I have of Jack and I before we lost him, he was such a kind soul. AAA 2016

I found this, and this is not the Jack Palmer I knew, oh well. It felt good anyways! / "The composer Jack Palmer should not be confused with trumpeter Jack Palmer (1913-2000) who played in the Red Norvo, Harry James, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and Artie Shaw bands."
